Trekking in the rain and fog has always given a sense of mystery and adventure for me. Love it!

The leaf you were touching at the 4:25 mark is called Devils Walking Cane. Sometimes called Devils Walking Club. Never ever touch the needles on the bottom side of those leaves. They are very toxic. And you will end up in the ER room. Meanwhile....happy trails.

Isn’t that a young “chicken of woods” shroom ? That would make an excellent dish ❤

WA!, here it comes. I don't recall hearing the name, Thimble berries, yet, I was eating some last week on my hike in the coastal mtns. I was calling them Rasberries.. Good to know and still delicious, although pretty small. Blackberries are just starting locally for me as well. Hoping for some Mtn. goats in WA.

I still say Margaritas name should have been Flower, and thimbleberries also grow wild on the island of Hswaii!

Hey, at least all the rain (real rain, not thunderstorms) helps beat back the chance of fire. Fire is your biggest enemy as you strive toward the Canadian border.

    Most people:
Hikers who hike the PCT in huckleberry country in August: I could subsist off the land and never again need to buy food.

You should unclip your waist and chest straps when crossing larger streams. A woman drowned at that Sandy River crossing as she lost her footing and couldn’t get out of her pack.
