I’m new to this and I just recently purchased a car after 15yrs of not driving but I had drove my friends car when they needed a favor. Can you explain how so? I want to be aware so I can use cash instead of Apple Pay.

So I used Apple Pay at the pump but it used the entire amount on my Apple Cash card….i had $45 on my Apple Cash and i just wanted to use $20 for gas… how do I do that please?
Hmm I am pretty sure the only way to do that would be to go inside and ask the clerk to pay $20 on that pump with the Apple Cash. I am not sure if you could do that at the pump.
Thanks for the info. My Southwest credit card is in the middle of a 5x rewards period and I’ve been putting everything on it - but then it got fraud the other day and they have to send me a new card. I’m missing out on earning my points in the meantime. I’m going to see if I can use Apple Pay to that account when I fill up next!
Thanks! I love Apple Pay or NFC in general. Had my wallet stolen a while back and it was a mess. Now with Apple Pay even if my phone was stolen they would have to get my passcode to use my cards. My now physical light wallet which is usually locked in my glove box has like $40 and one CC with my licensee and a couple things like a Tipple A card. Can't wait until Lowe's, HD and Walmart cave in. Kroger finally did, so its coming almost everywhere pretty soon!!!
Oh that's a good question! I think the answer is no because of Costco's Visa rule. When you use Apple Pay, it's still using that same Visa or Mastercard, just in a different way.
Lets us say you go to a gas station in the US states of New Jersey or Oregon. The gas station has the NFC reader but an attendant is required to fill the gas. What would you do?

I didn’t know you could do that. Most gas stations have warning signs about not using cell phones around the pumps.

Yes, I’ve tried it with my i14 Pro Max…and failed miserably each time. Card is added to wallet and verified as ready to use. What gives???
What's happening when you try? Does the pump not read it or are you getting an error?
Whenever I do this, it runs for about a dollar and then just shuts off. It’s happened at several different gas stations. Why???

Come on Lowes, HD, and Walmart!!! 😄 The Walmart Pay App is an option at Walmart though.

Did you need to enter a zip code with Apple Pay? We're gonna visit in two weeks and don't have a permanent address
Usually, yes, the gas pump will ask for a zip code, but it'll just be whatever the card has as your billing address.

I haven't bought gas in those states that require the attendant so I am not sure. I suppose you can just ask the attendant how to do it.
