  • Hey guys! Guess what? I have a new camera! The Sony FDR-AX53!
Now, please don't dislike this video because of the over-exposure - I'm just getting used to the new settings. Gimme some time to get it right.
If you own an AX53 I'd love to hear what your favourite settings are, especially shutter speed wise. I prefer 1/50 to 1/215. But, towards 1/150 and slower most videos are over-exposed. The camera isn't correcting it, while it should.
I read that an ND filter could be the solution?
In auto mode everything looks great, but no prop blur, as it ramps up the shutter speed to 1/600 and faster.
I'd like to hear your thoughts!
Other than that, dang, what a fabulous camera this is! It's such a huge step up from my previous camera - the Canon HF M31.
The footage is clear, stabilization is amazing! And no more clicking sounds from hand movements.
Due to the gain in stabilization and 10x extra zoom I prefer to shoot in 1080p50, but will try the 4K function also, especially at the airport itself, where I'm closer to the aircraft!
    Anyway; enjoy!
A lot of warbirds and helicopters in this video are based at Ardmore Airport, just a ten minute drive from here.
