Nah. Sometimes you get too good to be true purchases on local ads. I recently bought a rarely used perfect condition Quest 2 with carrying case for $80 this summer. Works great with my 3080ti.
I would immediately set a power limit for that card at 85 percent and set a +100 - 150 on the core clock. It helps with the temps while not sacrificing performance. Also you can try using a PTM7950 instead of regular thermal paste.

Yeah the temps did seem high to me also. I saw a few reddit threads on this variant and it seemed to run hot. As I mentioned, I'm going use this in a build coming up so I've been testing it a bit more and in an ATX case with decent airflow I get the same temps. Maybe I'll try repasting it again through see if I messed up there.
@@Gargentwitchongargee With this 5800x3d without an undervolt these temps are pretty normal for me. I have had the system set up for awhile though, so probably good to check on that paste. Thanks for the call out!
Not sure why this video or at least the recording feels a bit off, like it was exported on 30fps for some reason, when it comes to the card you just snagged one hell of a deal btw, you can flip the block and get some money back as well.
They told me they upgraded to a 7900XT. Which is faster, Maybe the wanted more VRAM or something. I'm still floored why they wouldn't try to get more out of this though.
If you have a 1080p monitor and ever play older / less graphics heavy titles, I'd heavily recommend trying Nvidia DSR 4x with 0% Smoothing, which will render internally at 4k before downscaling the image to 1080p for display. I've found this provides the PERFECT version of anti-aliasing. Of course my own card is only a 1050 ti, so I can only do this with VERY old / light titles (Half-Life 2, Dread Templar, etc).
@BennyTech Imhope it works as well for you as it does for me. A few things to be aware of though: 1. Nvidia won't let you use custom resolutions while you have DSR enabled. If you've set any up, such as 1440x1080, they'll become unavailable as soon as you set up DSR, but will be back once you disable DSR so you won't need to set them up again. 2. 4x with 0% smoothing is the only setting that gives results I like. less than 4x introduces artifacting that you need the blur of smoothing to deal with. 3. In order to have the DSR resolution work in games that only have borderless full-screen instead of proper full-screen mode, you'll need to run the desktop at 4k resolution. Some games even call it true full-screen but it's really borderless, and setting the 4k resolution in a game like that while desktop is in 1080p will just give plain 1080p result. Easiest way to tell is by looking at the size of a third party app overlay, like RTSS'. 4. Obviously the game itself needs to support 4k resolution so that you can select it ingame. If it's too old for that, dgVoodoo2 or the like may be able to help. 5. Go ahead and turn off any in-game AA when you do this as it's not needed, unless it's one of those games that ties AA together with other post processing effects.
Fortnite is choppy in the first few runs because there are a tons of shader compilation issues (the lack of it) after the game compiled the shaders you good to go. UE5 games has this problem almost all of them to be honest.
Disappointing performance for a 3080 Ti, especially considering it's 1080p balanced settings. But INSANELY good find, unless you get another high-range modern GPU for less than 100 dollars real soon, this might've been the best buy you will ever have. I'm rocking an RTX 4070 OC, paid 650 EUR (nov '23) and happy with it for 1440p gaming. But that 3080 Ti is still 6% faster than my 4070 on raw performance, so I'm even more disappointed now haha. I bought mine about 2 years ago for $900, thing is I only paid $200 as I traded in my RTX 3070. Best thing is, that 3070 wasn't an LHR version so I mined it intermittently for about a year and made around $600. Those $600 went for CPU/mobo upgrade + new GPU. The computer paid itself.
