That was clever. If you could connect a hose to it that would make flushing it and putting new water in way more easier since you ain't moving it once it's full unless it's on wheels.
Actually, it is not that hard to move such a drum full of water if it is on a hard flat surface. Just tip it on its lower rim to the balance point and then roll it along. It takes a bit of practice and one has to be VERY careful to keep the drum under control.
Thanks for this, but it doesn’t mention the use of a bulkhead fitting. This is a reasonable if not necessary additional part of installing spigots in these barrels.

ive had lors of plastic valves check valves & other stuff fail. but thats quality with ALL things these days. i dont like paying extra for brass.. but i dont like doing 3 times
Man just pay the $9 for the freeking tool or making something better than than! You're in a dire situation and you think I'm going to use screwdrivers?1 Only if I didn't have the tool maybe.
I just use a pair of large needle nose pliers. Open the pliers (reverse to usual usage) and slide the 2 noses into the slots in the bung and twist the handles. Seems to be much easier than keeping the 3 screwdrivers lined up because I only have 2 hands!

Thank you for the information, very helpful !
Glad it was useful to you.
It would be helpful if you adjust your camera so that what you are doing in completely in the frame. Other than that, very helpful
@@michaelmarchman3462 agreed. I don’t have any more barrels or I’d reshoot the video. Glad the info was useful for you.

Cool!
Can you use this to underground water your garden?
I’m not really sure, I’ve never tried using a barrel to feed an underground irrigation system.
How to remove the thermically welded lid, without ruining it?
Not that I’m aware of.
Good and very good idea but the camera is very far we can’t see good good luck 🌹🇸🇦🐪
Thanks - I will work on the camera work!

So far so good for me and plastic. Brass is certainly more rugged.
@@TheGergeDIY smart with the wire to run the fitting down. i would threw it in then 15 minutes later trying to grab it lol
It's hard to take anyone seriously when they're using a B&D drill.
Dang, I wish you would have told me 25 years ago before I bought it, and used it for 25 years without a problem.
Dónde los tienen y cuanto es el precio
Hmmmm......my maid made two for me after watching your video.....she has to learn also how to install gutter and downspouts for the rainbarrels.....
Can i use this as presure tank? With 30 psi
Do not know and would not recommend. I'd say consult the manufacturer of the barrel.
How much for the spigot ?
They are less than $20 for 2. Here is an affiliate link to amazon for them: amzn.to/3rhzVmr - also in the description. Good luck with your project!
