A pleasure to watch. And congratulations! Early on I saw the same thing I saw in your other videos: your shots were landing mostly around the service line. I thought (at the beginning) "Uh oh...". I remember when I would hit with you on my trips to Vegas, your depth was so consistent. So I was puzzled. But at this match went on, he started making a lot more errors in the 2nd and 3rd sets. Which makes your strategy of hitting consistently a huge asset. With guys like him who hit so big, you're kind of at their mercy if you can't hit as big and as hard as they do. When those type of big hitters are "on", then it's really tough. But when they go "off", consistency wins the day. He started to go for big shots that weren't there to be hit as the match went on, so his errors piled up. That's the beauty of tennis. You don't always have to win your own points outright. Your opponent's errors are just as beneficial. You did very well here. You should be very proud!!
Glad you enjoyed! You’re spot on regarding depth: he has a big first serve and a high percentage of serve in. Thus he got a lot of short return that he exploited with his forehand. As the match went on, I returned better and his serve speed dropped, and legs get slower. It got harder for him to run around and hit big forehands consistently. I started forcing a lot more errors
Dude was a good player and you managed to extend the points well with him. I noticed that you tend to hit your returns kind of short and your opponent took advantage of it. Consider using a slice return on your backhand periodically to get some depth. Entertaining match 👍🏾
Good playing! I would deep dive and understand what can of player you are and work on your strengths. You seemed to be on the defense which is not a bad thing but I would work on advancing your counter punching. it worked on him but if you play a more consistent player that hits like this and its gonna be trouble. glad to see you are back
I was actually thinking about what is my “identity” as a tennis player. Counter punching seems to be my default tendency but I’m now working on a more aggressive game by playing closer to the baseline and moving in. He is a very aggressive player so he naturally puts me in a more defensive position. I don’t want to counter fire with more fire because I can defend well enough. The big key in this match was to return deeper. That would have neutralized his attack. A player who can attack like him with more consistency is simply a very high level player (UTR 10+)
@@sandratoplaystennis that’s a good point that if a player like himself were more consistent he would just be above your level. Makes more sense to work on things to play your level and a bit better. Yeah for sure that’s a huge mistake people do is try to not play their “game” with playing someone else’s game. But yeah coming in the net after a good angle could apply even more pressure for him to miss
nice battle! quick heads up, you are foot faulting over the center notch on a lot of your deuce side serves (foot fault includes whole service motion, not just at point of contact). seems like people don't really call it, but worth noting.
I thought it was smart going more for depth and topspin on your backhand near the end. He could crush short balls but was too inpatient with high and deep ones, drawing a lot of errors.

Absolutely. Returning with more depth was key. He has a big serve so it wasn’t easy to get deep returns in.

Hi Sandrato. Way to hang in there and grab second set and tiebreaker. Man he hits hard, but at same time poses more risk to miss.
Yeah I was really trying to hang in there and make him hit an extra shot until to open more opportunities!

Good call!
I see you switched out of your Pro Staff! Are you using the Regular Pure Aero or the 98?
That’s right! Aero 98 😊
@@sandratoplaystennis Nice!! That's also my racket of choice! What's your string setup?
Hi, May be adding lead @ 12'o clock might give you that extra confidence especially on the backhands for better quality depth shots?
That’s exactly what I thought. I added lead tape at 9 and 3 o’clock and it plays much better!
@@sandratoplaystennis wonderful! Great you could find the right fix!
Hi which string and tension are u using in the aero 2023?
Luxilon Alu Power 125 at 50lbs

Absolutely agree!
