Mine too! It’s actually become one of the only AD contents I watch now. I love this intimate dive into the creative process and the whole thinking behind each decision. Wish they’d post more often!
The best part of these videos is how supportive the designers are during the roundtable - and how genuine it appears to be. It's so nice & refreshing when so much on the Internet is aggressively competitive and cruel.
@@DiamondBodyHealing I choose to be a bit less cynical than that. These are professionals who've attended design school, so they're far more willing to see the aesthetic value of each unique take on the same space than someone with a different background may be. There's always room for kindness.
@@GSutton they start screaming before their gazes even landed on the other pictures 😂 but then I'm European and this is just "American fakeness" to me.
That's exactly what I was feeling too. No shade to the designers. The previous design was actually very nice and could be updated with additional decor pieces added, and not to wipe away the original base of the design.
Yeah, I agree. I think if she ended the tiled shelf on both sides of the window and then put a tinted glass shelf in the middle, it would solve the issue and keep her vision. I would go for a dark pale pink, like in the flooring, to make it seem coherent - and break up the slightly monochromatic scheme the kitchen has.
Hema's is my favorite except for the shelf going across the window. Kat's is cool and minimalist and the door is begging for a cookout. Noz is Noz what can you say 😊😊. I could watch this series every day. More please
Despite appearances, a pot filler in a small kitchen is super practical if more than one person is in there at a time. It saves having to try to dance around each other every time someone needs water at the stove. I put one in my last kitchen (a galley measuring 6’ x 10’) and it completely changed the functionality of the space
Some of these ideas are a touch impractical. Removing upper cabinets in a small kitchen and “regaining” space with a tall pantry cupboard means losing counter space and still not getting back as much cabinet space as you’ve lost. And the plan with upper cabinets as deep as the lowers means you’ll never use that counter (you’ll smash your head on the uppers every time; and also, you’ll never reach deep into the back of the uppers so they’ll become a wasteland of lost sippy cups). Finally, travertine in a kitchen? I’m sure you’ll seal it and seal it well, but we’re talking about a material that has more holes than cork.
And did you notice the handles on the orange kitchen? Literal sharp blades sticking out, waiting to gouge your thighs and hips! And how many times does one use a pot filler? It would be so costly to install too (bringing the plumbing over to the cooker and digging into the walls) Also that fragile Japanese style plant that takes up a lot of counter space in a kitchen that is already on the small side has little chance of surviving.
Lots of cool ideas, but I was thinking the same about the travertine. Doesn’t seem the least bit practical for a kitchen. Also don’t see the point of spending money on a pot filler that you don’t need (plus it takes up space unnecessarily). I also don’t know how easy it will be to grasp and open the kitchen doors in Noz’s kitchen.
@@katanyajason3316 I have always thought pot fillers to be silly. I don’t want water dribbling (and there are always a few remaining dribbles after you shut it off) onto my stovetop. And when it’s over, you’ve got to carry the pot of pasta water back to the sink anyway so if you’re strong enough for that, you’re strong enough to fill it and carry it over.
I too would love to cook eggs in Noz's kitchen! Her kitchen looks like it would instantly cheer someone up on walking in. Would love walking into it every morning and after a long day. The best of the lot for me.
I think what Hema did with the travertine countertop by bringing it down only in front of the sink as an 'apron' is such a great idea!!! I am definitely using that idea in my next kitchen ❤
I really like her layout, but I think the upper cabinets could better not be full depth, except the one above the fridge. And imho the stove doesn't really suit the style theme. It's like a farmhouse stove in a modernist / minimalist kitchen.
I think that all three of the designers are so creative, and I find their designs well thought out. Needless to say, since I'm not the client, I don't agree with all their choices, but I do see elements I like in all three designs. Kat Bell's is my favorite of the three.
These designers are uber creative. I love to glean their sources for tile,appliances...and listening to their thought processes as they are designing. So fun. Thanks for this video😊
Hema Persaud is the winner for me, hands down. 🏆 I loved the cleanness of Kat Bell's design. As a 70s baby, I am all too familiar with the vegetable wallpaper/tiles motifs along the kitchen walls and wish not to relive it. All three women are talented. This reminded me so much of the show, Designer's Challenge, that used to air on HGTV. I ❤️ that show.
Usually there's one design that I gravitate towards, but this time I really like all three! I could nitpick a few of the choices, but overall I think all three designers did excellent jobs.
I would've loved to see one of them take it back to the 50s, and give it a Diner look. Coca-Cola and all! Straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. ♥♥♥
Noz's kitchen is so great, it is inviting, someplace I could actually see cooking for a bunch of friends, who would then all congregate there instead of the living room. I would ditch the pot filler and the wall mozaik, but that is all.
Worked with a designer on our kitchen. I prefer eliminating all corner cabinets… not functional, not useful, difficult to access. For that reason the big door design is winner in functionality. Love the red floors, but I like the vegetable them, love the yellow design with lighting. What a follow up series wheRE these three compromise and come with final design?… it would be entertaining to see he compromise taking place 😊
Before was pretty cute. I could live there if I couldn’t redo it. I’d maybe do different wallpaper, but it was cute as is. When I first heard the designer say vegetables, I was like, what? That’s so done. BUT, I ended up loving that space! Really loving it. It was happy, fun, whimsy. I could see myself making my morning tea and cooking eggs, too! I really loved the cabbage light! So very cool! I actually have some cabbage stuff. Big bowl and plates. The one with the door to the outside was WAY amazing, as long as there is something nice outside the door. I think the veggies and door would make a great combo. The one with warm pinkish colors was fantastic! I would probably have stopped the shelf just short of the window on either side, but the rest was amazing! I guess I’m still a little too inside the box. I’m thinking window washing. BUT, fantastic color choices! The cabinets are amazing! I really LOVED them. A super retro vibe. Any of you are welcome to redo my spaces anytime! 😄 IF I had to pick just one, which is impossible to do…it’s the vegetables! I had some cool veggie stuff in the late 80’s early 90’s. I thought I was done until I saw that killer cute kitchen? I would be thrilled with all of them.
Concrete floors? A shelf that goes across the window? Subway tile floors? Removing a functional wall with a door? A pot filler?!? The before is more thoughtful, understated, attractive and useful.
For those of us who grew up in the 1960's and 70's....I think the 'before' is charming and pretty. I'd keep that and enjoy it far more than anything modern.
Less is more in a small kitchen. The kitchen will never look like it’s clean and efficient if there’s too much going on. Also, two handle faucets are a pain. And, I want to be able to open the window. Easy to guess which one I like!
I always love this series, seeing impractical designs and crazy structural remodels is always interesting haha but I liked Hemas design, with small changes
Never seen this series before but all three designs gave me hope for my own kitchen redesign and were INFINITELY more interesting than anything I've seen in magazines that always seem designed for huge spaces with swathes of natural light. Will definitely watch this again with my own kitchen space and usage in mind. what wonderful eyes for design they all have.
Not a fan of Kat's design. A lacanche range and a door would've taken up the entirety of that original space. I don't like when the designers manipulate the scale like that, it defeats the purpose of the exercise. Also, keep your impractical tripping hazard chair out of my tiny kitchen!
Yes this! I immediately noticed how out of scale her design was. The door, as displayed, would have been maybe 5-6 feet tall and wouldn't actually be useful basing it off of the scale of the rest of the kitchen and the range is WAY smaller than it is in real life. That design was interesting but completely unrealistic
LOOOOOVE this series. Keep em coming! They were all great, including the before but I’d give it to the vegetable kitchen! So cute and fun and functional at the same time.
This is my favorite thing to watch on RUclips
Mine too! doesn't even matter if I like the result or not. I just love the passion, ideas and see spaces change character!!

Yes, love their supportive attitudes, too. 😊
you know they are pretending to find something nice to say for 5 mins and then they wrap? its not sincere.

Now that Noz's designs have started meeting reality halfway they're really interesting whilst still invariably being the most fun.
Booo she's always been brilliant
The end result is always too chaotic
@@pinchofsalt4566 Agree, it was super cool half-way, but then everything ended up being a statement piece and became too much.

Yup but not a genuine 60s kitchen
no...but I don't like "cute"...lol
That's exactly what I was feeling too. No shade to the designers. The previous design was actually very nice and could be updated with additional decor pieces added, and not to wipe away the original base of the design.
I like the original
Love Hema's colors, Kat's layout and the kitschy-ness of Noz's kitchen. All 3 ladies did great!
That little red sconce looks like a baby bell cheese and I love that about it.
This is my favorite series on the internet and Noz is my GOAT
Please keep making these forever.
I would never block a window with a shelf! The kitchen is already small and adding a shelf in front of the window blocks out some of the light.

Mainly for fire safety in my mind
@@AP12360 also, it breaks up the wall. Makes it look messy, janky.

making glass door was genius🎉

I love Hemas floor, wow stunning idea with lovely color and pattern choices. 🤗👏🏻👏🏻
Since the Bus episode Naz's designs have been knocking it out of the park without losing any of her usual quirky design choices
I didn't think I'd like a shelf in front of a window, but the idea of having a shelf full of fresh herbs really appeals to me

Hema for the win.
Kat has the best design and she used the small space well, by giving large windows and removing the sink makes the kitchen look bigger

lime wash on kitchen walls? hard pass. who's cleaning grease off those? NO ONE! other than that, pretty cool spaces....
