I am getting back into sea fishing in general, and I have been going through my sea fishing tackle to see what is good and what needs replacing due to the last time I went was over 10 years ago! Going through my sea fishing tackle, I came across my NEW never used Abu Garcia telescopic 12ft spinning rod, which says on the side it can cast between 50 and 100g. Would this rod be ok to use for Bass lure fishing, or do you think a 12ft rod is a bit long? Best wishes, Neil.

@@SaltwaterAngler thanks so much I went to the river crouch and caught my first lure bass from the shore I'm hooked loving the sport, if you ever come up this way I'd love to learn some tips I have a few bass marks I'm trying
Hi Matt, the lure that you got snagged, the Komomo 125, the colour you are using is it the "clear crown" or "creamy chart" they look very similar when buying, you seem to have great success with this lure colour.
Hi Graham, creamy chart but an old worn version of I remember. It’s worth remember bass eyesight is considered more focused on outlines, shapes profiles, light and dark . So it’s my guess (and I don’t really know !) that there’s no difference between similar colours where a fast moving bass is concerned ?
Ask ourselves where do predatory fish expect to find bait fish. Are the points where bass could sit and dart out in to the running water. Where does the lure sit in the water - for example you don’t see many (bait) fish working in to the current
