It’s always interesting watching the master show off his handy work. If you are considering having a Viking Engine do what I did, have the guru himself do the handy work. I promise you it’s the best way to go, absolutely no regrets have Jan do the instal on my bird.

Thank you for making this video! Working on my lower cowling now (in between other jobs), I have been wondering a good way to direct more air into the radiator. Not sure how much it will be needed, but living in Florida, it can’t hurt. Seems like a good solution!

Has anyone put a Viking engine on an Ercoupe? My Continental C90 has 1570 hours on it but about 400 left prior to needing a major Overhaul. I was considering converting it to
experimental and installing a different power plant, like a Viking engine.

Anything certified becomes very complicated and limited. Would it work absolutely and great - will the FAA allow it with ease, absolutely not unfortunately

After watching many of your videos, I really appreciate all the detail you go through In explaining the setup and how to. On another note, Have you had any bear hawks use a Viking engine or could it be considered? Patrol or companion? Thanks

Machining some fins in that gearbox cover would cool it some more, being directly in the airflow.

We’ve thought about this in the past, but we don’t really have any gearbox cooling issues or cooling issues in general. Maybe something we do in the future, but would t be for some time if so…
