    Im Mexican and we love the Smith brothers here. He has nothing to feel ashamed for. He still is a former british, european, wbc silver and wba super world champion. Theres no shame in losing to two solid and historic world champions.

      Easy to say “use your reach” when you’re watching on your screen, using your reach against a pressure fighter isn’t easy especially when standing against a mean machine like Beterbiev who can hit like a truck in a small distance

    Huge respect to Callum, went out on his shield and he fought back and tried to actually win the fight.
    Wasnt high on his performance v Canelo or Ryder but despite this loss, I thought this was a redemptive performance as he showed a lot of heart and determination.

    There are levels in this boxing game and Beterbiev showed he is an elite fighter. Smith was courageous. Losses are a normal thing in life, its about how you learn from these, get back up and keep on going.

      With all due respect he has been showing he is an elite fighter since the amateurs, it aint the first time lol, he was one of usyk's tougest fights in the amateurs and usyk was also already world class as he also had many amateur fights and stayed in the amateur until his 20s
      Beterbiev is 39, the fist time he showed he was a world level fighter was prob during his late teens

    Ill be honest i was disappointed with Callum's efforts against Canelo as i felt he never really tried to win in that fight, in this fight however, against a much more dangerous man, I believe Callum redeemed himself. Callum tried everything in his arsenal, it just wasn't enough against Beterbiev. All you can ask from a fighter is to give it their all and Smith did that tonight. I'd love to see Callum against Yarde or another contender, I think he's got a great shot at anyone that's not Beterbiev.

      well canelo is a whole different type of opponent. against canelo, anytime smith threw a punch he got countered fast and hard. he’d also miss. against beterbiev, he was able to get some offense off and not get countered so easily and he was able to actually land. 2 completely different styles. canelo shuts down a lot of his opponents offense, where as beterbiev just completely bulldozes people despite their offense

    Well said, nice honesty. When a boxer accepts he is not and can never be the best, he has to retire, assuming he doesn’t need the money. Callum Smith fought at the elite level twice and can up short twice. But look who he lost to - Canelo and Beterbiev. Only the very best beat him. I’d hate to see him carry on and lose to lesser fighters

    For a man who stands in front of uou the whole fight beterbiev is hard to hit clean despite what the interviewer thinks. He stays in range but most times Smith looked for a big shot he used his feet or head movement to just get out of range and come back in range. He uses fine margins. Don't sleep on his IQ.

    Look at all the soft comments just because hes a nice guy. He folded too easily and didnt use his length. Even Yarde showed more resistance and went for it. This guy folded up easily like a lawn chair. Yes he was likely gonna get stopped but atleast go for it.

    Nice guy could have been really good but fights like he’s 5.8 not 6.4 gives away his best attributes shame really .he said he didn’t feel it but his face got battered Arthur has got a scratch on him

    Beterbiev is a freak of nature with insane genetic power it took a man with that plus a 100% ko ratio to drop callum for the first time that means hes pretty damn good himself no shame callum your a world renowned badass!!👊🏼💪🏼 and congrats on the engagement !!

    What went wrong is that you don’t have the power to hurt the fellow. And on the contraire, he’s got the power to hurt you. Don’t need to make it more complex than this. Obviously both have boxing skills. Just one could hurt and the other could not hurt.

      Fight was way more complicated than power... not sure where you got this impression from. Beterbiev's timing, jab, and footwork as far as closing the distance was all too much for Smith.

      Difference between being able to see what an opponent is going to throw Vs actually being able to do something about it.
      Artur is readable in that he isn't a slick speedy boxer, he's just incredibly powerful and applies constant pressure.

    I had Beterbiev by stoppage. He carried Smith for 5rds. He played with his food. Way too strong. Callum caught him clean a couple times and he laughed at him.
