Absolutely (scratch that, the whole game is underrated, but not as much as its later successor which is the prime definition of an underrated Sonic game that defined what made the early 2000s/DreamCast Era of Sonic about as fun as the Classic Era with the original Sonic the Hedgehog trilogy, especially the Modern Era remakes)!
guys, if you hear the drowning countdown music in the game, it will know you will be screwed when your getting counted down to zero. so dont stay underwater for too long in the game before it happens. just a reminder here.
Ahhhh, my good old gameboy advance days are coming back when life was simpler. When my shorts pockets were always packed with my Gameboy and games to play on long car rides in my mom's '96 Jeep Cherokee
When I was playing this game as a kid, I'd always dread this zone for the act 1 music, but when I pushed through and got to act 2, this music was totally worth it. There was immense triumph in just getting to hear this music.
the characters could really work over the boss in this level... Tails: *Flies up out of the water, tails smack Eggman* Amy: *Jumps and uses hammer, long reach pounds Eggman* Knuckles: *Jumps off of first ice block, glides back and forth through Eggman several times*
@redsblackipod That IS the one I'm referring too. His Grandfather's name is Dr/Professor Gerald Robotnik. He has 2 grandchildren. Maria Robotnik (deceased) and Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.
@@riocheng0205 Yeah, Act 1 has an extremely relaxing yet touching and mysterious atmosphere, this act sounds just like any other upbeat Sonic ice Stage
@redsblackipod That one wasn't in the stone age. Sonic Spinball took place in the continuity of the Sonic the Hedgehog TV series dealing with Freedom fighters.
@redsblackipod GUN=Guardian Units of Nations. The group with the human soldiers and the non-Eggman robots ARK=Space station where Gerald worked, Maria resided (and died), and Shadow was born. motive=GUN deemed Gerald's research too dangerous and came to shut him down.
@redsblackipod No. The Robotnik Sonic fights is always Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik (Nega-Eggman aside). Gerald Robotnik died almost 50 years before Sonic was even born lol
The SEGA Ice songs are ALLWAYS the best songs in the game. Ice Cap from Sonic 3, Planet Feron from Ristar, Ice Mountian from Sonic Advanced, and Twinkle Snow from Sonic Advanced 3. The Snow Song from Sonic Advanced song sounded like a remix version of the chao mini game song from Sonic Advanced, It sounded Bad. P.S. could someone speed up this song alittle, that would sound awesome!

@metaXzero ok i get it but i ment it like the dr. eggman that we (except marxandkirbyrocks) all know and love. you know wit the red suit and the creepy eyes and beard
Why oh why did SEGA have to mix the best song with the most annoying boss? Beating Robotnik in this level took me AGES(ha ha boom boom) but maybe that's why I still remember it so well.
It pains me to see how underrated the sonic advance soundtrack is.

Probably because its sequels and Battle have more consistently good music.
@@ivythay4259 The problem with Sonic Advance 1’s music is???

I loved this Soundtrack so much! This is one of the reasons why i loved Sonic Advance, because the Soundtrack’s were freaking awesome!
Ahhhh, my good old gameboy advance days are coming back when life was simpler. When my shorts pockets were always packed with my Gameboy and games to play on long car rides in my mom's '96 Jeep Cherokee
For me it was in my dad's 98 Dodge Durango
Truly an underrated tune that deserves a lot more praise. Let's hope that more people find out about this song!
Anybody got a bandage? Cuz i just got smaked by nostalgia :)
i got enough for the both of us, in 23 and this reminds me of 7 year old at bed time!!! I loved this song specific!!!
This song just screams Christmas to me. I always love listening to this song around this time of the year. A great song for a great game.
Yes it sounds similar to Feliz Navidad although I don’t know why the Sonic, Spyro and Crash GBA soundtracks aren’t on Spotify
I remember when I used to play Sonic Advance 1 all the time! This was my favorite track in the entire game!
I commented on this several years ago, but I would like to add that this fantastic theme was composed by Tatsuyuki Maeda.
You won't find this anywhere on a Winter gaming music compilation sadly. Such a shame as it's such a good track!
Best song in the game, hands down.
WOW I feel really old now :(
It’s painful how songs you haven’t heard in well over a decade can still find a way to get stuck in your head
When I was playing this game as a kid, I'd always dread this zone for the act 1 music, but when I pushed through and got to act 2, this music was totally worth it. There was immense triumph in just getting to hear this music.
Nostalgiaaa~ I used to go into the sound test when I was 10 and play this over and over.
Ahhhhh....it's been so long. Such an amazing tune to amazing memories!
Hated this stage, but LOVED this song.
Is it because of the drowning countdown music in the game?
I remember I used to go to the sound options just to listen to this. I also remember Amy who shake maracas while you played the music. :)

Tails: *Flies up out of the water, tails smack Eggman*

+Kronie Pretty much said how much better they are compared to Sonic.
Vector The Crocodile
Maybe Sonic's lack of special ability is meant to be like a hard mode or something.
For some reason during my childhood, this song would always play in my head whenever I enter the water. It's just so good!
Act 1:IM SOOOO DEPRESSEDDDD
Act 2:OMG THIS IS SO FUN I WANNA DANCE ALL NIGHTTTT
I love ice montain act 2
I love how atmospheric and peppier Advance 1's music is.
Aaaagghhh!!! I used to have this game, but I don't remember what happened to it!!! Where did it go??? So many great tunes and memories!
4 people drowned at the boss.
Okay... missing this game now... it's not in the same house as I'm currently in....... Grrrr
That riff is pure childhood joy.
I miss this almost 20 yrs later
@redsblackipod
That IS the one I'm referring too.
His Grandfather's name is Dr/Professor Gerald Robotnik. He has 2 grandchildren.
Maria Robotnik (deceased) and Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.
I love it so much! :D
Ice places of most games I've played have amazing music o.o
definitely my favorite music from Sonic Advance
Just beautiful music
This is one of this game's few Act 2 soundtracks I prefer over the Act 1's.
Same
Oppositely, I prefer Act 1 of Ice Mountain more than Act 2 only.
@@riocheng0205 Yeah, Act 1 has an extremely relaxing yet touching and mysterious atmosphere, this act sounds just like any other upbeat Sonic ice Stage

i have lost my game boy advance but it is painful memories because i used to play this game for years......(sniff)
Can't believe this game is almost 12 years old ..........
The best ice mountain i ever.. heard
MEMORIES -sob-
I can just hear "Brrinng~" of the rotating rings now. x3!
I like this music
@redsblackipod
That one wasn't in the stone age. Sonic Spinball took place in the continuity of the Sonic the Hedgehog TV series dealing with Freedom fighters.
This track has a fat bass melody for a gba game yet it blends well.
my fav sonic theme of all time. beats the shit out of open your heart or even neo g hill
This game don't have the legendary green hill theme but have this one
remember this one the most. used to play the shit out of this game.
You know it! ^^ And the "Shingshingshing!" of Sonic charging his famed Spin Dash! :3
good
This is extremely similar to the Diamond dust zone from the Sonic 3D blast
For some reason. I've been getting a Phantasy Star 1 vibe from this track.
@metaXzero
one - whats GUN
two - whats ARK
three - what was the GUN original motive?
I thought hmm this is pretty ok until 0:52-1:04. Oh man that part really struck some chords with my soul.
pray nostalgia doesn't kick my ass
@redsblackipod
His official name is Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik as of Sonic Adventure.
Ah, who could forget that! ^-^
I love this music ❤
yeah, its annoyingly hard to jump on the platform to get some air in time.
@redsblackipod
GUN=Guardian Units of Nations. The group with the human soldiers and the non-Eggman robots
ARK=Space station where Gerald worked, Maria resided (and died), and Shadow was born.
motive=GUN deemed Gerald's research too dangerous and came to shut him down.
Love this music!
Sonic 4 has pretty damn awesome music in my opinion
@metaXzero

all i know is who is who, not the backrounds
I fell yur pain, I lost my Unkle to Cancer, That Gastardly desease! I will destry all kinds of ancer for my UNKLE~
going through a loop then WAM yur running under water!
Drowning as Sonic < Swimming as Tails
I love this song, but I hate being interrupted by the horrifying drowning countdown in the game!
@redsblackipod
No. The Robotnik Sonic fights is always Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik (Nega-Eggman aside). Gerald Robotnik died almost 50 years before Sonic was even born lol
@metaXzero
oh i thought that Maria was his daughter. Hey, wern´t they killed by the army or something.
sonic advance so totally owns the GBA

Hey didn´t sonic fight with Robotnik like he does with Eggman?
@metaXzero
oh ok then cus i remember a sonic game from the stone age
that i found when i was a kid. i think its called sonic pinball
I used to say this sounds like Sonic Heroes.
@metaXzero
ok i get it but i ment it like the dr. eggman that we (except marxandkirbyrocks) all know and love. you know wit the red suit and the creepy eyes and beard
@aleekun Greetings from the future.
This is my theme. =3
@redsblackipod
Maria was gunned down by G.U.N. during the raid on the A.R.K. yes. Gerald was captured by them and eventually executed.
Was it really that long ago?
It was a brilliant game. Best Sonic game since the Mega Drive versions too.
and i feel pretty old, although im 14
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
