She did not report him to the police. He set her up, called the police and reported her for DV. It ruined her live. She ended up addicted to drugs, lived on the street off and on for seven years. She died in a car accident in July 2020. False reports happen, they ruin lives. I am glad Johnny won.

Totally agree. And if she has the preoccupied attachment issues that are part of certain personality disorders that have been attributed to her, it could have even felt like an assault to her. So I could even believe that she felt like him separating from her during an argument, was abusive. The only reason why Johnny started recording, is because he found her recording him being in vulnerable, emotional states about things that had nothing to do with Amber; like his mother passing or money being stolen from him, and found that Amber was showing people in their inner circle that content to try and plant the seeds that he was an abuser, so that when she eventually tipped TMZ off everyone would believe her because she had all these out of context recordings she'd been sharing with friends and family and God knows who else, for their whole relationship. Former DV counselor here: When your partner starts gaslighting you, you start recording, especially because they usually claim no one will believe you. Abusers looking to set up their partners and discredit them by muddying up the waters also start recording. Abusers usually have underlying mental health issues they feel they can't change, so if you can't stop being abusive, all they feel they can do is cast doubt and make it a "he said, she said" situation where they can't be held accountable.
They obviously knew the recording was on during their conversations with each other, recounting past events and reasoning them, BUT I’m sure when actual fights and insults were being thrown to each other they both didn’t know when the other would be recording. An obvious example is when Amber was recording Johnny assaulting some kitchen cabinets. Johnny didn’t know he was being recorded at that time.

The reason they recorded it is because U have to record everything eventually because if U don't record your conversations when you're with someone that crazy after a while u start 2 believe that what they're saying is true & that there's something wrong with YOU. The only way to prove 2 yourself that they did or said whatever they did or said is 2 record it or they will tell you to your face it never happened or they never said it. I spent 9 years with somebody like this making those recordings thinking that eventually I'd get up the courage to leave because the recordings would tell me he was creating a reality that wasn't really true. But... the trauma bond was so strong I never left until he finally left me & had married somebody else 14 months later. I believe the real issue is that AH believed that she had a National platform insurance policy, so that when her relationship was failing, she could project her problem out into the world. I believe she believed that her hitting him, and not being able to deal with him stepping out to see his daughter, or to deal with him having a range of interesting people to spend time with, not being able to deal with his attractiveness for the Dior campaign, or whatever she couldn’t compete with, that she never thought about her vulnerability, her skills to live in the heart, her setting the other free so that she was supportive, none of that. She believed this was what her right as a contracted marriage partner was when maybe she didn’t love him, and probably it was strange that one kiss on a set sent this man after her love for years. We want what we can’t have and he sure did want her. From trauma we get set on missions to love difficult people. It takes a lifetime to heal that and then to be present in the moment.

From JD, recording conversations makes a lot of sense, it's a necessary step when you're dealing with someone trying to f*ck your mind with word-salading, diversion, shift of blame, flip of narrative, projective identification, and other sick strategies. Recording also support the victim to remain grounded, and very useful in the process of realizing to what point the other is crazy, and finding the strength to move on.

And as she edited the one she sent to TMZ, I feel there is a strong implication that hers were performative in nature, or at least she was aware of the image being presented in them and tried to manipulate them. After the TRO however I believe some of his recordings she was not aware of either, bc at that point things had changed and escalated significantly.

Our ancestors were constantly under threat of death from a million different things: lions, tigers, bears (oh my!), a variety of other animals that had/have a taste for human flesh, war with neighboring tribes, catching any form of disease, insufficient methods of heating and cooling, lack of medicine, ignorance, being chosen as a sacrifice to the gods, breaking a limb, starvation, weather, not having shelter, no water, ect. Our lives are immensely too easy compared to our forefathers and even our Grandmother's of just two generations ago. The state of the world at present may be stressful, but our species has been dealing with the struggle to survive since day one, and we're still here.

The only reason why Johnny started recording, is because he found her recording him being in vulnerable, emotional states about things that had nothing to do with Amber; like his mother passing or money being stolen from him, and found that Amber was showing people in their inner circle that content to try and plant the seeds that he was an abuser, so that when she eventually tipped TMZ off everyone would believe her because she had all these out of context recordings she'd been sharing with friends and family and God knows who else, for their whole relationship.
Then, he found out she started saying things like "and after I stopped recording, he pulled me up by my hair and punched me in the face over and over again while screaming "think you're so tough, tough guy!!!!!" Absolutely ludicrous.

Former DV counselor here: When your partner starts gaslighting you, you start recording, especially because they usually claim no one will believe you. Abusers looking to set up their partners and discredit them by muddying up the waters also start recording. Abusers usually have underlying mental health issues they feel they can't change, so if you can't stop being abusive, all they feel they can do is cast doubt and make it a "he said, she said" situation where they can't be held accountable.

I was a victim of DV myself for 13 years off my ex wife and I couldn't speak to her the way Amber speaks to Johnny.
Every victim of DV has slight differences of the same story but you can always see the abuser and victim f you've lived through it. When this whole thing started I wanted her to be right, not because I hate Johnny Depp or I liked Amber Heard but because I didn't want to believe someone would make this up. After watching a couple of days of the trial I was even more proud of someone standing up to their abuser and taking action like Johnny did knowing that he had been vilified in media and most of the public eye but he just needed to tell his truth and have his voice heard.
I'm posting this response to this user as of they are spamming and promoting a false narrative then it should be called out. A person might see it on one comment that I haven't responded to and believe that narrative. I usually don't give a shite about comments but DV is something that I'm passionate about.

100% agree with you on your other comment it was refreshing to see the truth heard regardless of sex. As I mentioned in my other comment when this started I wanted Amber to win as didn't/couldn't believe someone would make this up.
The reason they recorded it is because U have to record everything eventually because if U don't record your conversations when you're with someone that crazy after a while u start 2 believe that what they're saying is true & that there's something wrong with YOU. The only way to prove 2 yourself that they did or said whatever they did or said is 2 record it or they will tell you to your face it never happened or they never said it. I spent 9 years with somebody like this making those recordings thinking that eventually I'd get up the courage to leave because the recordings would tell me he was creating a reality that wasn't really true. But... the trauma bond was so strong I never left until he finally left me & had married somebody else 14 months later. I truly feel for Johnny, I wouldn't wish being stuck in that situation on my worst enemy!.
Amber never told Johnny WHEN she recorded ..the marriage counselor was fucked in the head by telling them to record each other, ESPECIALLY kmowing Ambers sociopathic tendencies, but ultimately it helped Johnny.

I am a survivor of domestic abuse and sexual violence, I was just 17 when I lived with my boyfriend 10 years older , As a survivor, I couldn’t believe that Amber heard could and did lie as much as she did , she lied when she didn’t have to, she made up details that were so hurtful but so false that unless you have actually lived it , and knew the things she said intimately , people could believe those lies ! That was scary to me as a mother of a teenage boy who Has been raised to treat women with respect and love , to see a woman Lie to the extent Amber heard has , I am asking you Joe , don’t let this subject go so easily. This was a well planned take down, using her womanhood to deceive us , and so many people believe her because they don’t know the actual facts of abuse and what that really looks like. But I can prove by my own scars and experiences that she. Lied even about his use of drugs and drinking. Truth matters ! I wish you would stay with this and speak more about this case ! I’m 56, and Joe is on the mark! We were having anxiety over Russia- then - bam- the frivolous age began. The biggest problem moms had was where to find a beanie baby!

I believe the real issue is that AH believed that she had a National platform insurance policy, so that when her relationship was failing, she could project her problem out into the world. I believe she believed that her hitting him, and not being able to deal with him stepping out to see his daughter, or to deal with him having a range of interesting people to spend time with, not being able to deal with his attractiveness for the Dior campaign, or whatever she couldn’t compete with, that she never thought about her vulnerability, her skills to live in the heart, her setting the other free so that she was supportive, none of that. She believed this was what her right as a contracted marriage partner was when maybe she didn’t love him, and probably it was strange that one kiss on a set sent this man after her love for years. We want what we can’t have and he sure did want her. From trauma we get set on missions to love difficult people. It takes a lifetime to heal that and then to be present in the moment.
You know what conscientious worrying is good as it puts your fretting to good use. Sometimes, worrying is not pointless.
It’s advantageous because it keeps you coming back for updates

From JD, recording conversations makes a lot of sense, it's a necessary step when you're dealing with someone trying to f*ck your mind with word-salading, diversion, shift of blame, flip of narrative, projective identification, and other sick strategies. Recording also support the victim to remain grounded, and very useful in the process of realizing to what point the other is crazy, and finding the strength to move on.

Some of the recordings were just from amber being sneaky to see if she could “catch” Johnny acting up. Most of them were for there marriage therapist so they can play them back in there sessions and see how they speak to one another
I thought the majority of his recordings she was aware of, and they had a therapeutic context, to have a record of what they each said. Her recordings however, he was not aware of. And as she edited the one she sent to TMZ, I feel there is a strong implication that hers were performative in nature, or at least she was aware of the image being presented in them and tried to manipulate them. After the TRO however I believe some of his recordings she was not aware of either, bc at that point things had changed and escalated significantly.

Rogan does have a point about Danger having a negative impact on society, but it's also one of the factors helped shape our species back in ancient times. Our ancestors were constantly under threat of death from a million different things: lions, tigers, bears (oh my!), a variety of other animals that had/have a taste for human flesh, war with neighboring tribes, catching any form of disease, insufficient methods of heating and cooling, lack of medicine, ignorance, being chosen as a sacrifice to the gods, breaking a limb, starvation, weather, not having shelter, no water, ect. Our lives are immensely too easy compared to our forefathers and even our Grandmother's of just two generations ago. The state of the world at present may be stressful, but our species has been dealing with the struggle to survive since day one, and we're still here.
