      Thank you very much:) Your neck definitely won't be happy about your return to Unity:) Yes, creating is a lot of fun until you encounter a bug that turns that joy into a temporary nightmare:)

      Does Unity crash even on the lowest baking settings? Which version are you using?

    I have a problem in the terrain brush section, where the S shortcut does not make the brush size large, D does not make rotation and A cannot do opacity.

    • @SetaLevelDesign
      @SetaLevelDesign  Месяц назад

      The shortcuts you provided are used only if you have Terrain Tools installed from Package Manager. Then you hold down a given shortcut and control its parameters with a mouse movement. In pure Unity, you control the brush size with the shortcuts "[" and "]", opacity "-" and "=", but unfortunately the rotation cannot be controlled:)

      @@SetaLevelDesign well i understand, can buying assets make it easier for me to create more realistic visuals? i think by buying assets i can drag&drop and boom it becomes realistic by itself?. if there might be something that needs to be adjusted is it just the lighting or something else?

    • @SetaLevelDesign
      @SetaLevelDesign  Месяц назад

      Paid assets are mostly nicer, more refined and have better textures. And very often you don't have to do anything more to them to make them look nice. But here you also have to be careful because not every asset costing, for example, $120 will be worth its price. Some are even worse than those worth $7:)

    Amazing, as always.
    Would be nice to know about your workflows when u use these kind of packages and you have to convert between different pipelines or repair some assets due to different engine versions.

    • @SetaLevelDesign
      @SetaLevelDesign  Месяц назад +1

      Thank you:) Yes, sometimes it happens that you need to improve the shader to support the selected rendering pipeline, and sometimes it is enough to replace the shader with one from a different asset creators:) Maybe I will make a video about it someday, but there are so many different asset creators with they own shaders that it would be hard for me to find examples to show it that way that viewers could use it in their projects:)

    Glad to see youre still around..i always have an issue with brush sizes in HDRP being way to big for the terrain.. lol i gotta research that. Do you get / do freelance jobs for levels?

    • @SetaLevelDesign
      @SetaLevelDesign  Месяц назад

      The brush size depends on the terrain size, and the minimum brush size is always the formula "terrain size divided by heightmap resolution/control texture resolution* = minimum brush size"
      * it all depends on whether you use the brush to shape the terrain or to paint textures. If you want to paint textures then Control Texture Resolution is taken into account. If you are shaping the area or placing vegetation on it, heightmap resolution is taken into account.
      So if we have, for example, an area of size 100x100 and the heightmap resolution is set to 513x513, then the minimum brush size when adding vegetation will be 0.19 (100 / 513 = 0.19). I hope everything will be clear now:)

      Yes, you can use them as you wish, whether as part of the game or in any other form. The only thing you cannot do is resell the models:)
