      @@GunGuyMatt 650 XCR still. I'm telling you, the mid-range powerband is VERY linear and its perfect for staying in the sweet spot when exiting corners. Both the Boost and the NA 850 are punchier and the on/off nature of 850's are killer on the top end, but under 70 mph or so, the 650 just performs flawlessly. The Boost is obviously better for the long pulls on the straights.

    I have all three ... 850 NA, Boost & 9R. 850 has power even NA as everyone knows, Boost is all top end and it keeps pulling forever, 9R is all bottom end, pulls so quick from zero and amazingly responsive.

    Still could go either way on these. The smooth delivery of the turbo would be nice, but more parts that could have issues. Thought the 9R would be my new choice, but not a lock for sure ! See you in New York mid-February !

      I wipp add this, the boost, you need to lern how to drive it! Or I should say drive around its lag! First 2 or 3 drive it fell really slow in smaller trails and couldn't get the ski off bumps and lips like my 2018 assault 800. Yeah it was fast but slow in the small trails. Until I figured it out. It's timming, you need to give it gas like a second before what you are use to. Once you figure that it's a blast! I have the 2 inch track and really it's just not any faster then my 800. It just gets there a whole lot faster. My 800 kinda fell on it's facearound 60-70 mph while the boost will keep pulling to 85-92 on it's way to a top speed of around 96-98 if I remember correctly.
      The 9r will have alot more bottom end but where the boost will shone is in the ease of getting more hp. Your just a pipe and a tune away from 210-225 hp

    Fantastic feedback Levi. Thanks for the in-depth reviews.
    If you were riding wooded trails for the most part like what we have in the Northeast in Vermont and New Hampshire - in the hands of highly experienced sledders, do you think the likes of the 600 Cross Country or the 650 XCR is the king of the trail for the maintaining the fastest lines of the day with its mid-range powerband and smoother throttle management?

    • @Levi_LaVallee
      @Levi_LaVallee  Месяц назад +1

      They work really well in the turns and i'd say most people can go as fast or fast through the turns on a 600 /650. There isn't as much power on with 600/650s to get you in trouble is why I believe that to be. the weight is about the same on the 650 to 850 and the 9R is 13 lbs more so if you know how to deliver the power smoothly with the bigger engines, you can go just as fast through the turns on the bigger engine XCRs as you can on a 650 XCR. Cross country has heavier IFS springs so it wont body roll as much as the XCR so that helps.

    That weekend in the UP was fantastic man - loving my 24 XCR 850, the 1.6" track was FANTASTIC in the powerlines that week. I'm torn between a XCR 9R or a Assault 9R, I don't play off the trails much but I love the willingness of the Assault to lift the skis. Will the XCR get some of that "fun formula" from the 9R or will the suspension keep that at bay?

    • @Levi_LaVallee
      @Levi_LaVallee  Месяц назад +2

      the 136 XCR has tipped rails similar to the assault, so if you get a taller lug, it wheelies also. if you move the rear coupling blocks on the XCR you can get the front end to lift more so it feels more like the uncoupled assault. the 9R definitely helps with lifting the skis as well.
      I put 1.75 lug on my XCR so it is more playful. Lose probably 5 mph on top end, but still goes over 100 which is fast enough in most cases.

    Just be mindful of them dumb ditch donkeys lol. (Deer) . They fly across the trails whenever they feel like it. You don't wanna be blasting down the trails when that happens, especially with not much snow. Deeper snow tends to keep them in the woods. Ride safe Levi. Interesting thing to think about - a 1995 RXL 650 121 MSRP was $7499, factor in inflation that would be $15387.77 today. The 2025 650 INDY SP 137 is $14199 which would be "apples to apples" with RXL other than the SP has 137 instead of a 121.
      Average Egg cost was .92 in 1995, ave cost as of Nov 2024 was 3.65. Inflation is not ideal.
