- Namielle is a Elder Dragon that has aspects of manta rays, deep sea fish, and jellyfish. Its massive wings are colored black on top and a light blue on the underside, with rainbow luminescence that pulses constantly. Its head is red and blue with the same pulsing luminescence but when drained of its water and dried out, it has a milky tan coloring that affects both its body and the underside of its wings. It also has multiple long whiskers on the lower jaw.

Skin like Chitin of lobsters, bioluminescence, electricity of an eel delivered via mucus similar to a lung fish, singular wings to tail biological structure, like a manta ray, stingers of a jellyfish, this beauty is the manifestation of the sea! One of the most well designed elders ever! Love it

So far this is my favourite Elder Dragon in World. It's design, the colouration, the movements, and sounds it makes like a fish quickly swimming around in water. Really cool, now all that's missing is the water.
Fun fact. Namelie is completely peaceful until she sees you fighting something. Even if the monster attacked you first, when you attack them she'll join the fight. Or so it seems.
Most Elder Dragons are like that as they don’t see you as a threat. The only Elder Dragons that will attack when they see you are Kirin, Nergigante, and Lunastra. Kirin is actually supposed to be one of the most passive Elder Dragons, but if you stand it’s way for a long time, it will attack. Nergigante will attack you pretty quickly, but at least he warns you to get out of his territory first. Lunastra, well, she wants to kill you the SECOND you’re in her eyesight!
If underwater combat ever returns I want to fight this one in the sea
I love the concept of this, manta rays and those glowy veins.
The face is perfect.
Ironically, Namielle is probably one of the most scientifically-grounded elders in spite of its truly eldritch appearance. It doesn't call lightning from the sky like Kirin does - it generates the energy in a special organ like, say, our world's electric eels. It then uses its highly conductive "Water Slime" as a medium to zap its enemies/prey. And then when this thing unleashes its ultimate attack, it's actually visibly drained afterward rather than just returning to "normal".
i prefer when its more grounded since thats what made mh monsters so special among other monsters in media. Great design, great concept, fun fight despite being pretty easy, would hunt again :)

I'd imagine a few tussles between Namielle and an Abyssal Lagi, even Ceadeus, apparently Ceadeus prey on Nami too.
Could imagine it fighting Nakarkos or adult Gobuls

@@walkerpierce5446 It would give a chance for True Lagiacrus to return, not the Generations, Secretly-Ivory Lagiacrus. But I wouldn't hold your breath for the mechanic to be reintroduced (no pun intended), what with Iceborne being the only major expansion planned.
Lots of monster hunter world themes seem to share motifs with one another. This is my new favorite theme regardless of some similarities with others.
I wonder what this thing would look like at the depths of the sea where it belongs... Those wings make it feel like the twilight depths of the deepest seas are where it's true home is. Clearly, it's fine on land too, since it just brings the ocean with it to promptly electrocute you to a salty crisp with.
Just imagine diving down the abyssal dephts of the deep sea via submarine and seeing a colorful glow coming from beneath. Suddenly the mantel-like majestic wings rise out of the lights, moving silently like the ones of a mantel ray. Everything is completely mute and his face appears right in front of your sight. While having eyecontact, you can hear the distant sound of his smooth roar quietly through the water. He pushes himself away from the cockpit of your submarine, using his two front legs and emerges into the darkness, lying on top of you, until even his colorful glow fades away.

As much as I would like to see Namielle underwater I don’t thing he belongs underwater necessarily. Just like the coral highlands look like an underwater landscape, Namielle looks like an underwater water creature without truly belonging there. My opinion.
I kinda wished the area it was currently in darkened to show it off more, like in its intro cutscene.

Totally, Nami and Vaal have the same hierarchy in both sides of Coral Highlands, makes sense. I think it also has a classic 007 feel to it as well

We already have chameleos; Vaal hazak is basically mhw chameleos & Namielle is a chameleos descendent.

@@loading2463 in the wiki Chameleos and Namielle are shown to be related monsters, and Vaal Hazak effluvium is basically worse poison, both Vaal & Chameleos use toxic "mist" attacks; plus, the only time Vaal Hazak is found outside of the Rotten Vale is as it's nightcloak variant.
