I really like the first part. It gives off a feeling of peace, but a temporary one, a sense of impending doom. Basically, you know that it's safe right now, but it will not be soon.
That whole sequence was just oh no after oh no It’s summoned oh no It blocks off the command block Oh no It attacks the crowd Oh No It breaks through the ceiling OH NO
This song is so good. The intensity and how it increases each time the wither storm gains power is really effective and makes this one of the best boss tracks ever.
I love how it's barely even boss music. It's more of a representation of a looming threat that you can't stop, and the only thing you can (barely) do is run

I was once on a realm at my school, and the smart kid figured out how to add mods to the school shared realm, so we heard this and then in the chat feed “(insert name I forgot) was eaten by the wither storm” And the teachers were too dumb to find out how to stop it so it became massive, the village we built went to bedrock, people were in the nether and end all the time and no one was safe I’d pay anything to go back to those good days
When you think about it, this game is special to the composers It's the first video game they composed a soundtrack for (and technically still only if you don't count the cancelled Telltale Stranger Things game)
This is probably the best theme for a boss that literally makes the Nether seem super calm compared to the Overworld. It gives off the feeling that you can't fight it (if you use only vanilla items), so you just need to run. And run for your life.
the song reminds me of a warning i just made up: ,, This is not a test, in 18 hours there will be terrorists in your location dressed as furries. Please do the following."
The Nether isn't 100% safe. Did you guys actually forget how we (thought we) lost Petra and Gabriel with how the portal got ripped apart by the storm's tentacle? With enough time, the storm could probably get INTO the Nether, no matter portal size. The only truly safe option is the End. You can't change the portal size of that. It's always 3x3.
Playing the wonderfully made "Cracker's Wither Storm Mod" with my friend, all I can say is the nether was the only place where we weren't so focused on escaping we could actually formulate a plan. The nether wasn't safe by ANY stretch of the imagination, but it was safer than the overworld, which is terrifying enough as a concept
* After beating a dragon from another world. Beating a being made from 3 skulls. Steve with alex, alongside everyone else craved more action. * Steve had settled to make a boss himself. As if there was no natural threat that could best him with his crew, why not create one himself he thought. * By stealing a command block from his friend, he had wanted to make a more agile foe, unlike the warden. * He wanted it to fly like an enderdragon. He wanted it to have a ranged attack like the elder guardian. He wanted it to resemble hell itself as the wither. * He opted for the design of the wither with a command block as it's heart. He then set the command block at " /Setrandomalgorithm ". * He had not told anyone about it. He wanted it to be a big suprise to all. * Time was set. Chunks had loaded. Sun had go under the horizon. Steve told his friends about the compact foe. * After placing the last wither skeleton skull, there was an emidiate explosion. It was unlike any boom from a charged creeper. As it felt like it had the power of 5 tnt blocks. * Steve and his friends were shocked but were only wounded as steve expected this. They were ready to fight. * No ranged, nor melee attack damaged the wither storm. Only aiming at its core, the command block would. * But then... Disaster struck. ** The wither storm absorbed blocks around it, eating away at the ground. *The wither storm was growing larger and larger. One of Steve's friends named sunny tried to hit the command with a power V bow but only managed to enrage it more as the wither storm aimed towards him and covered the command block. * Whilst the others escape; Steve, Alex, and Kai distract the wither storm. *The wither storm takes to the skies... The group regathers with their weapons and armour enchanted. Their next destination was the storage room were they keep most of the materials they will use against the wither storm. * They decide to go to their 1st stronghold turned to a restored structure. They figure to also get some ender pearls but they would have to risk the fact that the wither storm could be on that point ( 0,Y,0 ) which was around only 570 blocks away. They just risked it all in all as ender pearls seem like a good alternative to building blocks ******* They decide to attack in 13000 ticks so they can prep extra things such as golden apples. * After the time passes, Steve gives everyone half a stack of TNT and flint and steels and they finally go through the end portal. * They fortunately were safe as the wither storm was far but still visible as it seemed to be just 200-ish blocks away * The battle of their lifes began as it will be exciting... If they only knew what were to occur 7*The wither vs Steve and his friends commence. They use their Power V bows and glide and fly with their elytras. The fact that the wither storm stops you from sleeping is amazing Context: You can’t live in the over world because it will kill you. You have to live in the end or the nether, which you can’t sleep in

My favorite thing about this entire soundtrack, especially the rise of the Wither Storm, is the fact that it's shown musically to grow as much as it does physically in the game. It starts out as a siren and ambience, then gains instruments that grow the mass. It keep growing and growing throughout the entire song from there, spiraling out of control just as the storm rages and ravages everything we've been shown thus far. I don't know if it was intentional, or maybe it's just my headphones being weird, but I also hear a crackle of static every once in awhile in the rise portion, as well. Perhaps the sound of a radio fizzling out and being unable to give further report on the situation, or a brief feedback loop of the sirens? If it was intentional, absolutely brilliant to include.
that crackle is actually the sound of my recording interface freaking out while tracking the guitar. my computer couldn't handle how many tracks and effects we had running while writing this. which i guess is cool in a different sorta way. it's one of the things i eventually removed from the other versions of this song once i figured out what the heck was going on. i like your interpretation though. you get to a point where you think you know how to write good songs and all the magical parts still happen totally by accident -antimo
It’s a chill night in the spring. The overcast looming ahead, with rain on the way. You pull your car in the driveway when you see it. Even 4 miles away, it nearly blocks out the horizon. A mass of heads and tentacles, seemingly conjoined to the sky itself. You break eye contact, and dash to your car… but all was already lost.
@@soupmaster1217 As you go to dash to your car a blinding beam swallows your vision. After a few seconds of adjusting you realise the one of the creatures heads now has its gaze fixed upon you. Your body becomes light. You feel the air around you suddenly shift. Before you can even think of what to do, your being lifted off your feet towards the jaws of death. You frantically look for a branch, a street light, anything that is fixed to the ground. To your luck you are pulled into a street lamp and you grip it with all the strength in your body. But little did you know that all this effort... would be futile. Your feel the pull upon you grow stronger, the creature getting closer and closer as it swims through the sky while trailing it's tentacles across the ground. You start to hear odd creaking noises and faint rumbling. The first thing to pass you is a bike, narrowly missing your head on it's way past. You car starts to shift and move as if it's being pushed. Not too long after this it starts to bob up and down... and eventually... it comes up with you as you watch it disappear into the now void black sky with the only thing visible now being the parasitic-like body of this unknown creature, and it's huge... bulging... eyes You think to yourself... "as long as I can stay a hold of this street light I'm safe right?". But before you can process the thought of you likelihood of survival your hear more sounds of breaking, snapping, creaking, and the groaning of... rock? chunks of the surrounding homes begin to tear from the ground. Distant screams of cowering people fill the black sky, along with whole buildings now being torn from the ground. You pray to whatever god their is above that you are spared from this hellish event, but whatever god their is out their... It has now betrayed you, and left you to die. All that can be heard now is the rumbling of the ground. You can feel it's movement. You can feel the street light shaking with the ground. You start to panic even more, but no matter what you did, it would be a futile attempt. What can you do at the hands of such a creature after all? Cracks are now appearing around you, down the street, through the gardens of nearby homes as they are torn from their foundations, and eventually... even the ground itself. You feel a sudden shift in the ground below you, and again, and again... and suddenly... you are hurdling towards the creature and the cloud of debris above. In all the comotion you lose your grip of the light and are flung at tremendous speeds into the sky. By some miracle you passed the cloud and the monster completely. But now you are faced with what could only be described as a view of... absolute... destruction. A path of just, nothing... lies behind the creature. It's all gone. What dim light remains from the almost set sun illuminates a trail of black leading from the coast miles away. "What is this creature?" you think, "where did it come from?", "Why the hell is this happening?!". If only you had the time to think... As you lose your speed, you start descending back down through the cloud, and then it clicks in your mind that you are now falling to your death... Your life was good. You made friends, you had a family you loved, you wished you had done more... but you were happy of the life you lived. After all... what could you do to stop this now... As the ground below comes into view, you brace for the end. The sudden silence of death... and as you open your eyes one last time... You see the ground mere meters away. In that instant your life flashes before you. Every love... every heartbreak, every success and failure... Your feet touch the ground first, not that it matters. Before your mind can even process the pain of your legs being blown apart by the force of impact, your head is already hitting the grou..
A player with creative mode is dangerous. When you take the powers of a player that’s in creative mode (the command block) and give it to a unstable and mindless beast, literally fuse those powers into its very form. A creature with no way of understanding how to properly use it, this is the result. A creature that made the frigid and desolate end alongside its ender dragon defender and the fiery abyss of the nether seem like a more welcome sight than the dimension this creature now called its dinner.

The fact that this can be played over any storm chaser or tornado-chasing game and STILL be menacing if not moreso, really shows the power that this composition has. It's incredibly powerful stuff if some silly Minecraft spinoff is able to do that.
There’s something about this that sets me off. In the beginning, that wailing… It sounds like an air raid siren. Whether that’s intentional or not, it’s an interesting detail, and fits for this giant, floating behemoth capable of making the Nether and the End, places normally considered very dangerous, into safer places than the overworld. Lord have mercy.
I think those are intentional, and are sirens, lol. If you listen carefully, you can hear it at the beginning of Rises (8:05) (it's audible around 8:23, just quiet), too. I think such is the case for the ability for 0:00 to go into 8:05 instead of 0:48 if the/a scene demands it. This _was made_ for Minecraft: Story Mode, after all, and made _up of_ several parts that repeat (or mostly repeat) once before building into the next part. (If you can't tell, I listen to this song too often) :) (An example of "almost" repeating would be 2:00 and 2:12; 2:00 which is the final buildup stage before the "main" part of Theme (2:24), and 2:12 being 2:00's repetition.... aside from the fact that it goes E, G^, E^ (letters are notes in the melody and the carot next to them means one octave up) on both the second-to-last _and_ last uhh -"quarters of the melody",- instead of just the uh, "last quarter". -yeah I'm not a musical terms expert-- In other words, all other cases of this "main melody" of Theme tend to go E, E E^ E, E E^ E, E E^ E, G^, E^, while 2:12 goes E, E E^ E, E E^ E, G^, E^ E, G^, E^ )

I know this comment is late and all, but like even though TellTale shutdown 5 years ago the games music composers are releasing this masterpiece. Just be grateful these 3 songs were even made.
Personally, I like this original version more than the remixed one so I'm really glad that they posted this. I always find myself coming back to this track.
I love the speed of the song, I interpret it as the wither storm following you slowly but surely, never stopping at anything, reminds you that it's following you throughout the entire game even if slowly, but will surely make its way to you.
@@devikjha4173by slowly I meant more like, you have to remember constantly that it is never stopping. No matter what you're doing, no matter where you're going, it is still following, and once you remember it is following, it's already too late, and is right behind you
A lot of people used to think this game was bad during the 2015-2017-ish period where Minecraft was seen as bad and cringy, but I think that this game was just too ahead of its time to really be seen for what it was
Its mainly the characters, and how there was very little you could actually do to influence the story, also everything after the witherstorm because the witherstorm was cool annnd everything after wasnt
Honestly, you two cooked here. This song is terrifying in every way. It fits the Wither Storm perfectly too. A being made of weird fleshy stuff, giant tendrils, 3 heads each with 1 eye that sucks things in like a Blackhole. It is basically a Lovecraftian monster. And then this music has those sirens at the start. The guitar starts to show that something is Definitely not right and that we’re done for. And then later on is where it just feels like you can’t even fight it, most you can do is try to escape it. Like literally the only safe spaces are Hell and a barren wasteland of islands over a void. So yeah, you two did a great job
Such a great theme and it just fits with the overall feeling from episodes 1 to 4 i just like how jesse and the others ned to run for their lives meanwhile they also ned to find a way to stop the witherstorm and that soundtrack is just perfectly resampling how threatening the witherstorm really is .

I love how the awakening theme at the start of the vid gives you that sort of unsettling feeling. the second part brings more to that. The third stage has the slightest bit of western and brings a sort of futuristic vibe. The last stage is absolutely insane with notes that make you feel terrified! All of this brings the amazingly strong "OH NO" feeling!
I mean, that's kinda the point. But make it a floating giant that's a blob of blocks with dozens of long tentacles, three massive, cycloptic heads with toothy jaws, and the ability to shoot explosives and tractor beams.
A roofolk rogue A halfling paladin A triton monk A dragonborn warlock And a firbolg barbarian Vs Baphomet demon prince of beasts and his monsterous children kind of music
I have to be honest though, your guy's music is awesome! I'm just now listening to the songs without the voice acting over it. First off, it's making me want to replay the game. Second off I'm relising that I need to listen to these more often because they make me happy and are overall a vibe. :D also if there is a person who won't stop commenting on all these songs, it's probably my cousin who won't stop commenting.
This theme is so perfect. It embodies the Wither Storm so well, as the Wither Storm isn't a predator that is trying to survive, like Jean Jacket in Nope, its just abusing what it gained through the Command Block Its an utterly horrific being, and i looooove it!
What makes this music art is the fact that it could perfectly be in Minecraft, Minecraft music is represented by the consecutive add of instruments. For example, what starts as a piano will end with a guitar and a violin This music basically uses that formula, constantly growing.
After playing a minecraft wither storm mod with 11 of my friends and having it hunt us all down, its made me realise how perfectly fucking terrifying this theme is in context
I would like to see a poetic description of the Wither Storm itself. Like a monstrosity sent by a truth seeker to punish the liars or the root of all destruction or Humanity’s creation made to destroy creation itself. The 3rd is more ironic, it sounds neat.
Idk if I have what you seek, but I definitely have... quite a bit to say about the wither and wither storm itself... but this video would probably loop a dozen times if I tried to type it all out 'v' So uhhh.... I can try to give a short version of a "poetic description" rather than a megamultiparagraph in-depth breakdown? Here goes: An amalgamation of possibly angry dead souls with a mismatched, fused-together body (the wither), something that's just simply not supposed to be, introduced to the most powerful and potent piece of technology the world's of Minecraft has ever known, thus causing it's destructive tendencies to be multiplied tenfold and for it to come to care about only 2 things: hunger and self-preservation. And it seemingly doesn't know how or when to stop. If anyone who sees this wants to hear this aforementioned "in-depth breakdown", I'll..... try. It's, there's a lot.
Hundreds of souls screaming to make a body. It’s form becoming one with the sky, tendrils shooting out to claim more for itself. The True Hubris. created by a machine with the power of God, and fused with the embodiment of Death.
In a way, the repetition used in this theme creates a sort of endlessness to it, as it's easy to endlessly loop that part of the song, and going by the sheer power of the wither storm and it's ability to feed on well... Everything... It really boosts that sort of endless danger feeling that the wither storm gives. This is definitely up there on the best scary/ominous themes list, and what's better is it is also very well known and because of its age it's somewhat nostalgic, so people are attracted to it, just as mass is attracted to the wither storm. Although that is purely coincidental, I love this fact. I mean it's so strong it drawn us in, and we aren't even in the right universe. I grew up genuinely being scared of the wither storm, it was that and the war of the world's tripod things, they honestly scared me when I was younger, I could always imagine both just appearing on the horizon. Only difference is the military could just about kill one of the tripods but the wither storm?... The wither storm is EASILY one of the most underrated "villains" if you can even call it that, of the gaming world, I mean as I said it absorbs mass and can't really be killed without some kind of nuclear level weaponry. It's near unkillable, and as scary as that is, that's also kinda really cool. But younger me freaked out st the thought of this monstrofitmonstrofity even when I knew it wasn't real

Wish we could have more like Minecraft Story Mode. One great thing about the game was that it created its own unique monster that we'd never seen before.
Not to mention it made a new monster by using an already existing monster, and somehow made it more terrifying, even using actual command blocks to do so. Story Mode may not be the best story out there, but they really struck gold with the first 4 episodes and the Wither Storm

This is probably the best theme for a boss that literally makes the Nether seem super calm compared to the Overworld. It gives off the feeling that you can't fight it (if you use only vanilla items), so you just need to run. And run for your life.
the song reminds me of a warning i just made up:
,, This is not a test, in 18 hours there will be terrorists in your location dressed as furries. Please do the following."
@@CodizoMe suena mas a una alarma de desastres naturales
If you're playing mods, your only hope is to use nukes (along with the Formidi-Bomb)
He then set the command block at
" /Setrandomalgorithm ".
* But then... Disaster struck.
It's size now larger than an elder guardian.. One casualty of Steve's friend... Nor.
*** The wither storm grows stronger and stronger which accelerates it's growth even more. Sunny finds it impossible to outrun so he suggests to everyone to go to the underground nether portal
* They go with the plan.
They go down to the nether portal nearly escaping a beam from the wither storm..
**** The portal breaks and deactivates. No sane person would light it again. Now Steve and co. Have to find a nother exit amongst the 13 other nether portals in the nether.
* They plan to go to the village to get enchantment to get enchantments like mending and powerV bows.
* They arrive at 5430 72 -311, nearly 2 and a half thousand blocks away from the threat they were preparing to take down.
* They unfortunately forgot to bring any emeralds so makena and efe decide to get emeralds themselves at the raid farm
* The others decide to split up to gain more ground and to strategize a way to all beat the storm.
* But Alex worries for nor as he hasn't respawned yet...
***** 2 Minecraft days pass.
They just risked it all in all as ender pearls seem like a good alternative to building blocks
******* They decide to attack in 13000 ticks so they can prep extra things such as golden apples.
* After the time passes, Steve gives everyone half a stack of TNT and flint and steels and they finally go through the end portal.
* They fortunately were safe as the wither storm was far but still visible as it seemed to be just 200-ish blocks away
* The battle of their lifes began as it will be exciting... If they only knew what were to occur
7*The wither vs Steve and his friends commence. They use their Power V bows and glide and fly with their elytras. The tentacles seem to take damage but the heads capture Alex. Steve tries to save her by trying to use a fishing rod on her where he succeeds

Not too long after this it starts to bob up and down... and eventually... it comes up with you as you watch it disappear into the now void black sky with the only thing visible now being the parasitic-like body of this unknown creature, and it's huge... bulging... eyes
You think to yourself...
(If you can't tell, I listen to this song too often) :)
(An example of "almost" repeating would be 2:00 and 2:12; 2:00 which is the final buildup stage before the "main" part of Theme (2:24), and 2:12 being 2:00's repetition.... aside from the fact that it goes E, G^, E^ (letters are notes in the melody and the carot next to them means one octave up) on both the second-to-last _and_ last uhh -"quarters of the melody",- instead of just the uh, "last quarter".
-yeah I'm not a musical terms expert--
In other words, all other cases of this "main melody" of Theme tend to go E, E E^ E, E E^ E, E E^ E, G^, E^, while 2:12 goes E, E E^ E, E E^ E, G^, E^ E, G^, E^ )
This really gives you that feeling of fear you can get from no other mob and just adds to the intense power of the storm and shows what music can do

I love the speed of the song, I interpret it as the wither storm following you slowly but surely, never stopping at anything, reminds you that it's following you throughout the entire game even if slowly, but will surely make its way to you.
not exactly slowly... if you have the amulet at least.
@@devikjha4173by slowly I meant more like, you have to remember constantly that it is never stopping. No matter what you're doing, no matter where you're going, it is still following, and once you remember it is following, it's already too late, and is right behind you

It embodies the Wither Storm so well, as the Wither Storm isn't a predator that is trying to survive, like Jean Jacket in Nope, its just abusing what it gained through the Command Block
Its an utterly horrific being, and i looooove it!
What makes this music art is the fact that it could perfectly be in Minecraft, Minecraft music is represented by the consecutive add of instruments. For example, what starts as a piano will end with a guitar and a violin
This music basically uses that formula, constantly growing.
After playing a minecraft wither storm mod with 11 of my friends and having it hunt us all down, its made me realise how perfectly fucking terrifying this theme is in context
Wait, your that undertale guy that makes awesome looking stuff
This has got to be one of the most menacing videogame themes.
When your friend on the server says he has a present for you and you suddenly hear this music while he is getting his "present" from his basement:
"Is that where I went wrong!" Said that friend. "Was I never GOOD ENOUGH for you?!"
(I might be misremembering the quote-)
@@goddessdeedeebubblesofimag7789 "Was that where I went wrong? I simply didn't work hard enough?"
this is like a war flashback for some players, when I accidentally tapped on this started playing and my heart sank. Truly a terrifying theme
i remember 7 year old me just being absolutely horrified by the witherstorm. this theme wont ever get old.
I would like to see a poetic description of the Wither Storm itself. Like a monstrosity sent by a truth seeker to punish the liars or the root of all destruction or Humanity’s creation made to destroy creation itself. The 3rd is more ironic, it sounds neat.
Idk if I have what you seek, but I definitely have... quite a bit to say about the wither and wither storm itself... but this video would probably loop a dozen times if I tried to type it all out 'v'
So uhhh.... I can try to give a short version of a "poetic description" rather than a megamultiparagraph in-depth breakdown? Here goes:
An amalgamation of possibly angry dead souls with a mismatched, fused-together body (the wither), something that's just simply not supposed to be, introduced to the most powerful and potent piece of technology the world's of Minecraft has ever known, thus causing it's destructive tendencies to be multiplied tenfold and for it to come to care about only 2 things: hunger and self-preservation. And it seemingly doesn't know how or when to stop.
If anyone who sees this wants to hear this aforementioned "in-depth breakdown", I'll..... try. It's, there's a lot.
The 3rd one is basically world war 3
yeah so the Wither Storm addon in Minecraft
@@Sculklurker2671 Nice poetic description! 69/10!
