This is super useful! I was looking for something that connected with the actual experience of day-to-day Japan. Personally I really like the announcements. Maybe I am a "anaunsu-tetsu" or announcement otaku.
Excellent video as it prepares me for navigating the train system. I am only learning conversational Japanese so greatly appreciate that you provide romaji. ❤
I was in Tokyo last month , i stayed in the area of Nippori station , i learned this phrase Doa ga shimariuse during my visit. Thank so much for your efforts
I always wanted to know for certain what the train announcements meant! This is going to be one of my favorite videos! Thanks for preparing this lesson for us with all the passion you pour in every video!! By the way, do you know where I can find the original announcements for some other Tokyo train lines?
Glad you enjoyed it! Arigatooo so much for your comment!🥰 youtube.com/@MusashinoChannel?si=nGmuIYN_ngy3BW4H ↑ Please check this channel! You can listen to a lot of train announcements! 🥰🙌
Thank you for this! Except...the Yamanote line with the next stop in Shinjuku would NEVER be this empty...lol! Great video! I always wondered what they were saying.

Right now I'm in Osaka, and I've heard much more different annoucements at JR, Hankyu, Hanshin, Nankai and Osaka Metro stations! Please, can yo tell me what about the difference between Yusen Seki in Tokyo and Yuusen Zaseki in Osaka, and about Kyomo in Tokyo and Honjitsumo in Osaka?
Thank you for such a detailed video but can you consider making another video for the announcement (male voice) which usually happen when the train reach the station early and have to stay in the station a little longer before they move onto the next station. There is no English announcement after the Japanese announcement. I believe it is announced both at the station and in the train.
Shihatsu has 2 meanings. ❶ The first train of the day It works all stations (始発 /しはつ) ❷ The train starts from ~~ station It works (当駅始発/とうえきしはつ) It only works the stations that a train starts from. It can be morning, afternoon or night. If the train is とうえきしはつ then no one is sitting so it usually easy for u to take a seat.
You're not the only one to think that. The way "odeguchi" is pronounced often makes it sound something like "orenchi" or similar, but they *are* saying "odeguchi"
@@NNtoxic It's the way they say it. You are correct in what you are hearing, but they are actually saying "odeguchi", just in a difficult to understand way! Similarly for "tsugi wa" which often sounds like "bag-eewa"
Japan's train system is AMAZING! If the USA has a train system, even 1/2 as good as Japan, the govt will likely spend less and the car insurance industry will die, because most people would not own a car, thus less tax revenues in gas and car sales AND, therefore, less insurance monies spent by people, as well as car maintenance!
Sadly I rarely see people give their seat to people that need to sit. And often see business people sitting in the priority seats pretending to sleep with elderly people standing in front of them.
Fitting how I’m watching this after coming back from Shibuya for the first time. Tonight is the last night of my first trip to Japan.
this is the best japanese train announcement listening and related vocab teaching session, thank you.

Really cool video, I wish I watched it before traveling to Japan lol. At 7:00, I always thought they were saying オレンジ instead of でぐち lmao

You’re the best for making this video! Was wondering why we use を instead of に when using 乗り換えます??
we say 〇〇線に乗り換えます。たとえば、「渋谷で山手線に乗り換えます。」🥰🥰
I will keep watching this video because I will be in Japan soon. Thank you.

Ninjapanese sensei, is shihatsu refers to originating station only. Or this word works in all station? Tatoeba Kinshicho eki.
Shihatsu has 2 meanings.
❶ The first train of the day
It works all stations
(始発 /しはつ)
❷ The train starts from ~~ station
It works
(当駅始発/とうえきしはつ)

Excellent, I just hope if you do without music (it distracts me). Thank you Awesome Ninjapanese!
Do they say "odeguchi" or something else? I always hear sth like "orenchi", not "odeguchi", and at the beginning of the video it's like that too...
I was searching for this comment. I also hear "Orenji". Why is it happening? Does anyone listen Odeguchi?
You're not the only one to think that. The way "odeguchi" is pronounced often makes it sound something like "orenchi" or similar, but they *are* saying "odeguchi"
