Every instructional video should strive for this level of directness. 10/10 - no BS. Thank you, sir.
Thank you so much. I've been dreaming of getting wired internet when I realized there was a ethernet wall jack in my room. The only problem was, the keystone was connected and everything, but the other end of that ethernet cable was just showing wires. That was a huge problem because that ethernet cable was in the basement right next to the modem, but my router is connected to an ethernet port in my parent's room, but I wanted it in my room. But after seeing this video, I was able to get the ethernet port all ready to go plugged in my modem, and now I have wired internet on my Gaming PC.
What makes this video pretty good is that it is short and to the point!

You are fantastic! I had been trying to insert an RJ45 cable into a connector for 2 days without success. I watched your video and I fixed the issue in 2 minutes! Thank you!
Who would dislike this? Two minutes and only exactly what you need!
One of the best instructional videos on youtube. No BS and straight to the point. 10/10
Your is the most simplest and direct to the point. Every seconds counts and no time were waste to show everything we want to know
Nothing beats having the right tools!
The best video about ethernet cable
Thanks. I've got to learn how to crimp an ethernet cable this week and I think your short and to the point tutorial video will come in quite handy for this task!
how can other make 12 minutes video for something this simple is beyond my comprehension... Thank you for this great and to the point video!
Thinink about monetizing it probably. I agree with you!
I'm 55 years old and thanks to your video I was able t o make my first ever either net cable. Thank you.
Thank you. Was making ethernet cables for myself and friends about 15 years ago when LAN parties were cool. Needed a refresher course.
I don't understand why you got even one down vote. Good video, straight to the point
Great video to the point, not explaining what an Ethernet cable is, explaining each color and what it does, why they are that color, why you are changing it, what lead to the reason why you changed it, how you thought it might be like when you changed it, how you felt after you changed it! Straight and to the point
Yes, and not showing us each tool to be used one at an agonozing time. Safety glasses, an ethernet cord,...
what makes this video pertty good is that it is shot and the point simple and good.
Followed your guide to resuse an old cable.
I was doubtful about the wiring but got it confirmed when I looked at one end which was already crimped.
Rest of the procedure was explained really well. Got it working in no time.
Thanks a lot,from Haiti 🇭🇹🇭🇹
Every instruction video should be modeled after this. 10/10 short, sweet, and to the point. And very helpful!
Hello, will this work for thr poe camera cables? Please advise.
I make about 50 of those terminations (568A) every week. at first, I was slow, and slightly sloppy. But now, it takes me less then a minute. I test them all with a fluke tester.
Practice, practice, and more practice
Don Lee sorry for the late response. The answer is no. I use regular RJ45 connectors
IPSoft Creations A/B are only different with respect to the position of the Orange and green pairs. The mechanics remain the same. I do Both, depending of the business application. You should be efficient at doing either one
IPSoft Creations you’re right! Idk Y I didn’t include B. But, yeah. I do both.
Is it important to make colors with that way or i can just match them for both sides to be alike and it's fine
Can u answer that pls thank u!
@@hamzabahtit8358 hey
Look up the 568A or B convention, and do one or the other through out. Also, always insert the pairs with the RJ clip facing down and both ends will match. Good luck!!
You make it look so easy. I needed 4 plugs and broke another 6. They cross over during insertion. Some of the wires like 7 an 8 do not seem to be used. Next time I will try RJ45 snap plug so that the wires stick out the end which I can then check before crimping, Thank you for the video.
Awesome - nice simple demo! Local computer shop charge £65 to pop out to do this for two pieces of cable
Nice crystal clear to-the-point video.
Cheers from Indonesia

Excellent video. I was searching how to do this and ignored the 10+ minute videos in favor of this one.
thank you sir , fixed my broken cable in minutes and saved me hours having to re run a cable to my shed :)
@James L0w i am supplying the guy next door with an internet connection runs from my shed to his house via ethernet . ( senior citizen with low income )
good on you mate

Wow, this the 👌 video I have been looking for, Thanks so much
Can I reuse the Rj 45 head? I mean take it from another cable and reuse it?
I'm apprenticing as a satellite technician and this video is very helpful because I don't have to waste as much time on the job site.
Our teacher sent us this video
Is the process the same for Cat8? Please advise. Thank you for the simplicity and clarity of your instruction.
How can people dislike this 🤷🏽♂️, simply perfect demo, cheers
Sucessfully made an ethernet cable an trained someone thanks for the video!
Effective video, led me to the purchase on your site. Great job.
You saved me so much time and aggravation. Thanks 👍🏻
Good and clear video. I might have mentioned you're showing a T-568B pinout diagram when the standard is T-568A. The "B" standard was in place since early MA-BELL telco AT&T 258A (Systimax) pinout, but was replaced by T-568A in the early 1990's- and is required for all U.S. Federal installations. That said, as long as your termination points are all the same they can be used without issue.
I been using green/white, green, orange/white, blue, blue/white, orange, brown/white, brown for too long!
Always wondered why I preferred the T-568A standard, but as usual, I was too lazy to find out why 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the info, now I don't have to look it up anymore 👍👍👍
258A was made standard in 1994 but was changed to TIA/EIA 568-B standard in 2002.😀
Sorry for the pasted text: "Both are allowed under the ANSI/TIA-568-C wiring standards. T568A wiring pattern is recognized as the preferred wiring pattern for this standard because it provides backward compatibility to both one pair and two pair USOC wiring schemes. The T568B standard matches the older AT&T 258A color code and is/was (?) the most widely used wiring scheme...." "The U.S. Government requires the use of the preferred T568A standard for wiring done under federal contracts...."
Excellent video. You need to show more CLEARLY which way the wires are inserted. Which is the top? The lock tab or smooth side? It looks like you're working on the smooth side which is the bottom? Orange to the left?
You are a talented instructor. Thank you for your succinct and superb presentation on how to make an Ethernet Cable.
I studied about making ethernet cable lesson back to 2014.
Perfect. Nice diagram. Very clear instructions. Nice and short.
Great work dude and nice video with very good explaining for colors and used tools .
Great video, saved my a$$. Thanks
Thank you 4 this video ,i just run 20 ft wire and i make $200 cash
Thank you.
Great toturial thanks for share this video
Nice and short... No need to take 10 minutes to blah blah blah to do this. Thanks bro!
Just want to point out that this is 568B scheme. Depending on where you are located, the preferred scheme would be different. I've been doing some research and found that the recommended scheme in Canada is 568A (for residential), which has the positions of green & orange pairs switched.
Indeed, the scheme may differ, so that people need to verify theirs, before clamping the wires. The procedure remains the same, which is as simple as it gets. The clamping tool does the actual work, together with the RJ45 connector's design.
Thank you for this video. Short and to the point and doesn't spend 5 minutes with useless blabber and talking about life stories.
Thank you bro.. very useful video..
Is there a special feature between the copper wire inside a Wh-Or, Or and the Wh-Gr, Gr plastic cover with regards to Transmit and Received function?
Good video
This is much harder than it looks, keeping them straight after inserting into the connector is tough. All I learned was to sell my bulk 1000' box of Cat6 and but premades from now on.
Thanks for getting to the point quickly. Good video.

Thanks 👍 Teacher 😊❤️🙏
me 11 years old doing this Thank you sir i made it in first try
After crimping do you not test it here to make sure it is properly working !!
Don't watch other videos regarding with "how to make an ethernet cable". This video is Wonderfull and enough, Thanks..
Short & brief,, I love the diagram on the right side in the video ,, super helpful❤️
I hope this doesnt sound stupid... but do you crimp both ends of the wire in the same order?
Thanks perfectly working 👍
Great Video...!! short and tight!
is it harder to push solid cable in the connector? I got 1 wire in, what am i doing wrong?
Being Red/Green color shade challenged, what is the easiest way to get the proper order of the wires? What is the proper order?
My school uses this video for Networking Fundamentals. It's so simple, but the issue I have is the wiring doesn't stay straight and won't fit correctly in the RJ-45 plug. So when I go to crimp, the plug will fall right off.
Do you mind telling which school(which country) and in which grade it is taught?
Great video
Thank you for making a man video! Straight to the point and no blather!
nice video
Well done.
Try feeding the wires for 568 wiring where they cross over and see how you go with proper insertion.
Very nice . Thank you .
How to do this without the FD500R tool? and what does it do exactly?
That video is magic it is Short and Sweet
I've soldered audio and control cables for decades - really fiddly ones like DB25 and DIN9 etc. This is way harder and way more prone to errors. I can't believe this is a thing. It's very difficult to slide the 8 wires into the connector and maintain the order.
Yeah, I've done my share of electrical micro surgery, and keeping these little bastards properly ordered is kicking my ass.
@@dougjohnson1517 I bought the tool, took a photo of the color scheme. When I was doing it, I thought do I put them in with the tab up or tab under. The picture on the schematic looked like a small square in the middle at the end. Four hours later, almost, I finally got them in. Only to realize just now by looking at another video, the friggen tab should have been under! SOB. In the picture I took it showed on the wire end a square in the center. I was thinking it was indicating the tab.Sooooo, here we go again tomorrow.
This is a standard straight through connection. Crossover connections are much different.
Pass through RJ45 connectors make the task simpler, but no matter what RJ45 connector you use barreled or not there's going to be over a quarter of an inch of blind faith that proper wire is going into the proper terminal. I do them four at a time left-to-right. Much better success.
Forty-five years of audio engineering, solder connections, punch down connections, screw connections, you name it... RJ45 is the most difficult...
yeah, keeping them from switching places is so painful, was doing a test run on a shorter cable and thought I did everything right but it didn't work, turns out blue and blue-white switched places on one plug while inserting..
How to make the cable strait they keep getting cut offl or dont go to the roght spot
short , crisp and sweet..
thank you Ferrules Direct
So this works without exposing the metal under the insulation of each wire because i noticed you never sand papered any of the insulation of or burned it off either.
Helped a lot in my Computer subject
Glad we could help!
Ferrules Direct
The hardest part of this is organizing and straightening the wires to insert into the RJ45. We need a tool for that part.
True that!
Thank you. I went 4 for 4 with connectors after this.
Good
Can i take this video for my assignment ?
Don't know if your still watching this, but would this cable, or really any cat 5 or better Ethernet cable work for POE video camera connection? Is there anything special needed for that cablewise?
Hi please help, I have a tool that is saying lines 3678 are closed. What do you think that means? I've re capped both ends twice now.
Heyy !!.....
Dear ,wht is the name of this cable ,can u plz tell me.
The cable is CAT-5, CAT-5e or CAT-6. The connector is an RJ-45 connector. Most people just call these 'Ethernet cables', though.
I can not seriously do this. How are you doing this so easily?
Why it looks so easy on you, and me I'm kinda stressed with that wire.
Do you do the same pattern on the other end?
this video is good for new beginner
This is straight cable or cross Cable ?
Hi John
Can this be done without crimp tool? It looks like it is used to just make this thing tighter I can use other tool for that.
My problem is one metal that should be pressed is not getting pressed by the tool, how do I fix it.
It's that straight?
Good information
very good for education
