Dave, your in our history books! No losers in this game..all heroes for me. When media is so sanitized, it’s so refreshing to see your real world content.
I had tears in my eyes as you (Dave) spoke so fondly about your pal in the paddock, Davy Morgan. I know that every road racing fanatic - be it riders & spectators - will greatly miss seeing that trademark pink lid flashing by again. May he rest peacefully now - after a life spent following his dream.
Dave you are producing the absolute best coverage of this TT Your pragmatic approach, humour and enthusiasm is fantastic to watch. It is also deeply moving You are a wonderful story teller 👍
Your updates with the real meaning of participation are amazing. Your tribute to the fallen was moving. Thank you for what and how you do these videos. Living and experiencing life is the key. Existing is just that. I am no where near being able to do what you do at IOM but I’d do landspeed racing at 67 years old. I have been 209 MPH in a standing 1/2 mile. It is an amazing life experience. You motivate me to continue and display the joy of preparation being as good as the race itself. Thank you and may God ride with the fallen.
Thank you Dave for your insight and words at end, the risks are high but everyone has the right to choose. Thoughts go out to the friends and family of those who have lost their life living their Dream.
Shame we didn’t get to see you race Dave but great tribute to Mark, Olivier and Davey, still hard to believe for me but as you said, it’s a choice and I know I’d want to do it regardless of the dangers. One thing I’d like to say, while we are so grateful that IOMTT have streamed live, with more exposure comes more critique and we all know how the world is moving now.
Cool I'm on your video, dave. Glad you enjoyed TT. Dave your talk about your friend DAVY MORGAN touched me and hopefully lots of other like minded people, davy was a cool character and loved by many, only got to know him myself this practice, thanks for sharing this moment.
Very honest and heart felt end to vlog. By what little I have heard, the notice for being told if you were in or out can’t have been conducive with putting the riders out in the right frame of mind. Keep up with these great incites into racing and bikes.
Been watching your channel for a while Dave - your "show" is getting better and better all the time. We know you'll keep it up despite disappointment and losses. Good luck on the Aprilia. Saludos de México.
Dave Henson! Through the avenue of RUclips I feel that I have got to experience a little part of your live, your love of the sport and the passion for bikes in every way. You are a kind and honest man who is able walk the paddock speaking to not only to the big team riders but also the riders who manage to scrape the sponsorship year after year to return to the tt. As a follower of Irish road racing and tt it saddens me to hear the loss of any riders. A very sore year for the tt. I 100% agree, your sport, your love, your passion and your decision. Ride safe lad and keep her between the hedges.
Been a fan for 35yrs, nothing as awesome, the IOM TT is the nuts, thanks for showing the TT in its glory, beautiful tribute for those who died, doing what they love RIP, ride hard, ride fast, till next year 🇮🇪☘️
Thanks again Dave for the brilliant insights behind the scenes. So sad about Davy Morgan. Hoping that today’s racing goes without any event & that you have a cracking run on the little Aprillia. 👍
Morning Dave…really bad that messed up on the list of eligible riders, yet again….and some very heartfelt and touching words about Davy, we are all going to miss that familiar Pink helmet. 😔🇮🇲
Dave, what a great heartfelt tribute to Davy and the other fellows. I realise it was difficult for you to do as the emotion was carried on your words and will no doubt resonate with many as they did with me. Also, hopefully your measured explanation of why you guys race may in some way enlighten those who do not understand. I first met Davy at Olivers in ‘14 and ended up having occasional contact with him since. Always had time to spend and was a really genuine fellow. All in my house were big supporters of his, especially my oldest boy. I remember the race when he came in a lap shy… I was standing at Mere when he flicked his visor up and thought he had a mechanical. When I asked him in the paddock he said it was a “schoolboy error”, had I realised I would have shouted to him to do one more, he would have heard no doubt. He will be sadly missed by many. It is also poignant how you captured him going off the line and heading down Bray Hill living his dream for the last time. Keep up the podcasts, I enjoy watching. Best Wishes and Steady Away. John
Brilliant coverage Dave. Thank you for your amazing posts. Sorry you didn't make the race. Take it easy out there. Any and all who ride at the TT are legends.
You might not go down in the history books, but like every rider who races around the TT track, who are a TT hero and brings happiness and joy to all the fans that flock to the island every year. You are a part of the Isle of Man jigsaw that if you weren't there the jigsaw would be incomplete.
Fantastic excellent video diary Dave. Respect to you and every single rider at the TT.. Your reviews are superb the way you explain everything and your honesty brilliant I hope the big TV stations see your coverage and offer you something really well done. Best of luck with the racing.
Yeoman's work Dave. 👍😎🍻 Love your passion and dedication and commitment to the greatest race in the world! Great Vlog as well mate... #FreeWill #Choice #Liberty 👍
Great video, well said at the end. My dad was a pilot in the RAF many years ago and he lost alot of mates but was always of the opinion that they died doing what they loved. Same applies here which is why this summer I'm getting my first bike with the end goal of going racing.
I have enjoyed your watching story, would have been nice to see you get to ride, Nice realistic words about your friend and the two other lads who lost their life.
I came across your channel last night and have just finished watching your TT 2022 videos. While the new TT+ channel has been great for those of us not over this year, it doesn't make up for not being able to mooch about the paddock. Your videos have been a great substitute for that and I've thoroughly enjoyed watching them - the cameraderie around the paddock is fantastic and something that you don't really experience as a fan around the paddock so thank you for sharing.
For some reason whilst watching this I was thinking of the late great John Hinds "The Flying Doctor", he's probably chasing riders in the great curcuit in the sky, sadly missed by so many.
thank you for sharing so openly and sincerely that unique experience, so remote for most people... I'm totally with you on the right to chose ones life as the only way to actually live what is a short time anyway. yolo...
You got my my man Josh Daley in this vid mate, thank you, sucks you didn't quite make it but you made the right choice to not push when it wasn't perfect for you, hopefully next year Gary will work something out so everybody gets to race, the times weren't that far out mate
you are bang on about the right to ride, race or anything else that's risky. it's about quality of life. Not necessarily quantity. keep doing what you do.
Thanks for sharing your video, your time and emotions. Live your dream Dave. If I was a young bloke again I would love to race at the TT. Do your best and good luck. God speed Davey Morgan 🙏🏻
Found your channel through this TT season but I think I'll stick around for a good while. Really enjoying the content. Beautiful set of words there at the end.
Well said on the choices that we all make regarding risk taking. I ride a motorbike to work most days come rain or shine, I ride horses still and have in the past done rock climbing and white water kayaking all hobbies that sometimes havea fair chunk of risk involved. Nobody has forced me to do any of it and I would do it all again in a heart beat. Thankyou for your insight in to what goes on behind the scenes in racing. As you said it is painful to lose friends in that way but I hope that some people can understand that they were doing something they lived for.
It's good to show the real life drama of the TT Dave, this reminds me of the series real TT heroes which was brilliant, we know when it's good it's the best sport in the world... But when things go wrong, .. it can be so cruel .. but I for one fully support every one of you guys n girls to keep on doing what you love ❤️ keep er Lit 👍🏼
Was at the TT for practice week and saw you fly past a couple of times! Glad you got to get some good laps in and enjoyed your time there 😊. Until next year mate! 👍🏼👍🏼🚀🚀
I'm sorry to hear of so many casualties at this year's event, and that you didn't quite make the cut for the big bike races. You are one of the pack of riders who make the TT what it is, even if the top 5 or 10 get all the press. Putting in all the effort for just the chance of being able to race on such a legendary track. Good luck for the rest of the week. I was just happy to attend, and wish I still could, but marshalling is not possible from a wheelchair and funds do not permit my making the trip. Sadly, it is many years since I managed to get over for the TT or (in the days I was doing it) the Manx GP, both of which I used to marshal for, along with the NW200 and many of the short circuits in the UK. I must admit, I was nervous about this year - 2 years missed means a lot of re-learning, which I feared would come at a price. But real road racing is the pinnacle, and cannot be reproduced on the heavily sanitised closed-circuit built-for-purpose tracks, where mistakes rarely carry serious consequences. Back when I was marshalling up on the mountain, it used to be a parking lot at Mountain Box as many of the 2-smokes nipped up as they rolled off at the end of the mountain mile, and red flags just didn't happen - communication was dark ages stuff, with the old telephones in the green boxes to call the clerk of the course, although helicopters were just coming into use - sadly with a tragic result in one case at Ballaugh, which is indelibly engraved on my memory, as well as in the rules for keeping livestock anywhere near the circuit. We still had early morning practice back then, and getting out at 4 a.m. to reach the marshalling post before the roads closed was always a rather chilly experience, but after working my way around various sectors on the course, I settled in at Mountain Box - a great place to watch if you get there early. Bacon butties at 5 in the morning as the sun is coming up and the mist is clearing over the mountain was, and probably still is, magical. The nervous wait to find out if the mist had cleared sufficiently for the session, and the long walks down to the mountain mile marshal point to check for debris in between each race. Freedom to choose your own level of risk as long as it does not present additional risk to others is essential to living in a free world - take that away and so many things follow. Mountaineering, single-handed yachting, skydiving, scuba diving, any form of racing, horseback riding - the list is endless. And far better to have properly organised events than illegal ones on open roads, which threaten the safety of the uninvolved public as well as being far more dangerous for any participants. I'm loving being able to view the event from a different perspective, which I never got to experience since the very early days in clubman class, spannering for Mark Phillips (the 2nd fastest of the three by that name racing at the time) on his RG500. Very backyard stuff! He even let me ride it once, on a testing day at Snetterton. Thank you for the BTS view of racing on a budget at the best races in the world.
Thanks for your words Phil and for your years of service in orange. Those morning practice sessions must have been quite the spectacle! Hopefully you'll be able to get over again soon, it's still magical
There’s no way I would’ve been that pragmatic, somebody wants the rough end of a pineapple for that. Hope you get out on Friday and all the best for this afternoon
Well said Dave, we have to do things that make life really worth something. We don't all want a slow decline to a safe end, we might drop dead tomorrow, it's too late then to do the things you really wanted to do - carry on living your dream Dave 👍👍
Well said Dave, it is the riders choice and you do it for the love of riding your bike as fast as you can, their will always be those that don't understand and unfortunately one day they may get the racing stopped, but today is not that day, so best of luck in the super twin. Hopefully your misfortune in qualifying with the superbike/ superstock won't stop you trying again next year.
Thanks. I love the racing and i love your coverage for the background coverage in the pits . Why are these gizmos // add ons fitted when there seems to be infinite combinations of results on the road.
Gutted you didn’t get a run out on the big bike Dave. Massive hats off to all 3 gentlemen. My step dad marshaled the S100 races for years and Davy was a big fan of the Billown circuit. Big personality gone.
Fantastic video as always Dave. Poignant, heartfelt words for Davy. Do you have any thoughts on the horrid cock up made by the organisers regarding the misinformation about the French sidecar guys? Dave you are producing the absolute best coverage of this TT
Your pragmatic approach, humour and enthusiasm is fantastic to watch.
It is also deeply moving
You are a wonderful story teller 👍
Dave. Another great video. Lovely words to express the highs and lows of the TT. Have a great race today. Stay safe. Ride fast!!

This has to be the hardest race in the world. Much respect.
Thanks brother. Keep them coming. Back to the office desk for me tomorrow, waiting for another update… you are living the dream. Be Safe.

Loving these vids Dave! Inspiring stuff! Would love to see a vid on approx costs for going to race something like tt!
those last three mins Dave, spot on, Davey was a true mate of anybody in the paddock, I feel your pain mate
Brilliant coverage Dave. Thank you for your amazing posts. Sorry you didn't make the race. Take it easy out there. Any and all who ride at the TT are legends.
Enjoying your series. Some wise words.
Fantastic last comments at the end there Dave, good luck on the Super Twin 👍🏻
Absolutely wonderful. They way you deal with the ups and downs is exemplary. Good luck!

Interesting that, a very cheerful attitude towards all events.
Good luck today Dave - Enjoy the race & looking forward to your next video.

Excellent insight into the smaller teams Dave
👊🏻 much respect to you Dave x
Oh yes, Isle of Man Logic, good one Dave
again fantastic upload mate, very well said. ride safe out there. thanks.
Loving these Videos Dave. Really capture the spirit of road racing. Big respect to all you guys out there
A very touching video Dave well done x
There’s no way I would’ve been that pragmatic, somebody wants the rough end of a pineapple for that. Hope you get out on Friday and all the best for this afternoon
Well said Dave, we have to do things that make life really worth something. We don't all want a slow decline to a safe end, we might drop dead tomorrow, it's too late then to do the things you really wanted to do - carry on living your dream Dave 👍👍
Great diary.
Great video again Dave, thankyou. Such sad news about your friend Davy. You explain the passion for racing very well too.
Well said Dave, it is the riders choice and you do it for the love of riding your bike as fast as you can, their will always be those that don't understand and unfortunately one day they may get the racing stopped, but today is not that day, so best of luck in the super twin. Sorry to hear of your loss Dave. Very well said though mate.
Thanks. I love the racing and i love your coverage for the background coverage in the pits . Why are these gizmos // add ons fitted when there seems to be infinite combinations of results on the road.
great videos
Thanks Dave
Feel your pain Dave,Every word from the heart.
Gutted you didn’t get a run out on the big bike Dave. Massive hats off to all 3 gentlemen. My step dad marshaled the S100 races for years and Davy was a big fan of the Billown circuit. Big personality gone.
So real. Thanks Dave.
Thank you so much for your insights!
Very touching episode
Hit the spot. Be looking out for you today at signpost.
118mph lap is still quick. Nice one!
Awsome video 👌
Fantastic video as always Dave.
Poignant, heartfelt words for Davy.
Do you have any thoughts on the horrid cock up made by the organisers regarding the misinformation about the French sidecar guys? Shocking!
Also congrats on the 22nd place in the Supertwins race, living the dream.
Stay safe Dave 🇮🇲🏍🏁💪🙏
That was a really bad mistake, I've no idea how it could happen. Feel for both families
Dave Henson always reminds me of Simon Andrews. Not in voice but visually. Both lovely guys.
Great words, hope the race goes well for you.
If you don't like it, leave us to it.
Thanks for your vids!
As you said “We shall carry on”.
Can you teach Eric to sing “In the air tonight”?
Well said Dave
Great video Dave, and very touching words about Davey. Will you be back at the TT next year?
I'm sure I will be, but no decisions yet on bikes!
Daves finished 22nd Huge well done
Well said David 👍
Davy was a legend 😭
Did you notice @ 25.54 that the gush of wind registered 8kph on the speed trap.
Raised mate 🍻
I think that you said it all at the end of the video.
