Can't wait for the Xperia 5 and 10 V. I don't need all the features of the 1 but will support manufacturers who refuse to ditch useful features for no good reason until the day I die.
Xperia 10 v has already been launched. Sadly, it was just last year's 10 iv with a 48MP 1/2" main camera. The rest are exactly identical between the two. I'm looking forward to the Xperia 5 v, though we might do miss out the variable zoom telephoto camera just like last year's 5 iv.
Sony DOnt forget about us who cant update to the latest device. Please update previous models with same quality of life/performance/features. That said, cant wait for the compare with the 1 mark iv
A ton of 'reviews' of Xperia phones always say the same things; stuff like "huge bezels", "extremely niche and obsolete features that no one uses like the headphone jack and SD card slot", "alien aspect ratio", and one which (also) makes zero sense like "phone is too tall to use one-handed", when the phone is literally only 1.6 mm taller than the 23 Ultra and has bigger bezels (which means smaller screen), yet no one says that about the S23 Ultra
Because they get outrage traffic from Sony fans, and the majority of their audience owns iPhones or Galaxies. Those folks like having their bias confirmed about owning the most popular phones, so the creator will always make more money on their videos making sure the less popular phones "lose" to the more popular phones.
Fantastic review. I'm glad you took a deep dive into specs beyond the camera. Headphone jacks, swappable SD cards, notchless design - it's crazy how these "dated" features are sorely missed in new phones.
@@SomeGadgetGuy so much taller. I'll keep using my oppo find n for now with a 4-in-1 usb c dongle to make up for my lacking features in the meantime. Maybe one day I can have a phone with all I want... But for now the Sony's are too big for my taste. Last one I used was the 5 II
Haven't been this excited for an Xperia in awhile. I like the subtle design material changes. Addressing issues like thermal management, adding focus peaking (finally), 4k 120fps on all lenses, S-cinetone to make the cinematic video more accessible to non-pros, using AI for improving things that matter like AF, noise reduction. I could go on, but if it lives up to their claims this is very compelling. Also, glad to not see the typical let's run video until it overheats and pan the phone. 😉
Juan, my main question. DOES IT SUSTAIN SCREEN BRIGHTNESS ON THE STREET? A lof of chinese phones like Oppo Find X6 Pro this year show fantastic top brightness, but fail to sustain the brightness. Does Xperia drop brightness or not?
Theoretically it should. A video state typical mobile will go heat saving mode when reaches 46 degrees, and Sony tested another video did not reach 44 degrees, which is good. Now the information we need to know is whats the brightness Xperia 1V can go?? Hope it goes higher than 800nits measured on a video. I wanted minimum 1500 nits so can see better on a bright sunny day.
Based on tests I have seen on this device out there, I am very very impressed. Natural colours and minimal processing on photos and videos, better controlled thermals than some of it's predecessors, and that 4K display and that classy design and even competitive pricing in some (hopefully all) markets. I hope Sony reap success with this phone.
LH may have something on going I saw in article read They maybe not get crush by Samsung now when Samsung have State eye on them 4 boss on Kal last year for corruption to USA so Apple and Samsung have not allow anyone else climb up to them in USA exept now Xiamo now so are change so LG may came back they not did minus in economy was Samsung and See For time my change Samsung have really economical problems in make to much models and not get all sold are stocks in 10 of millions Phones not sold and they will go to less models Love that Sony stop do that for are 3 models and 1 Pro and Sony pro are Something Xperia 1 already out pro all other pro without call them pro 👍
It is so refreshing we still have you in this space appreciating and highlighting practical legacy features we all miss so much . Thank you for all your great work 💪
I have to say I'm glad to see Sony finally put a decently sized camera sensor with a night mode all while not selling out their Identity, the best of both worlds
Almost a week with the xperia 1v... my gawd the learning curve is steep for cinepro and video pro as i am used to photography, point and shoot mode is great for social media without edits on vivid mode. ISO64,000 and 30 sec exposure, fast AF and AI assist on images... its a good upgrade from my old flagship from 2020, but for double price.
Keep growing with it. The value of Ultra priced phones isn't just in being a gooder phone, it's in displacing OTHER gadgets like cameras and laptops. I'm happy to pay $1500 for a phone when it means I don't need to trot out my mirrorless gear and I can edit video without needing my laptop.
It has, micro sd card, expandable 512gb internal memory, headset, snapdragon gen 2, good camera, fine charging in which Samsung, Iphone, Xiaomi, Realme flagships doesn't have. Man im going to buy this phone which is almost perfect.
Prepare to spend 1300 euros then. It is more expensive than the S23 Ultra. But if the micro sd is that important to you than I guess there's little choice.
One of the other thing I LOVE about the Experias is, their response to the people who do 'People things' with regards to their phones.. LIKE.. WATCHING media/Video content... WHAT IS JUST AS IMPORTANT as watching something good on a great screen??? Being emersed in sound... One thing I miss about my old Motorola Nexus 6... Front firing, full, rich, ACTUAL STEREO speakers... MAN! That thing GAVE GREAT SOUND to go with its 6" Quad HD display!! And Sony KNOW, sacrifice just a LITTLE BIT with forehead and chin, and GIVE THAT ADDED emersive experience with GREAT SOUND to go with a GREAT DISPLAY while you are watching your favourite content... WITHOUT having this 'Modern day design' of - using a mid to tinny earpiece facing you and full range sound bottom speaker FIRING AWAY from you NONSENSE!!! THAT... IS SONY COMMON SENSE!!! Sound is JUST AS IMPORTANT as the visuals when watching a video, a favourite TV program or movie on your mobile phone (when obviously you don't have access to a tablet or big TV etc)... Sony... THANK YOU! Also, Sony? THANK YOU for KEEPING the headphone jack and access to a cabled link to a decent built in DAC!!! 👌👏👏👏 😎🇬🇧
Who knew that I would feel that hyped for portrait awareness with the camera lol. I love all the Sony features, but im glad they are making it easier for snapping a quick portrait photo.
Oh man, this is THE phone. I really hope I can get my hands on one. One question: Can you change the screen resolution? I'd step down from 4k and squeeze a little more battery life if it's possible.
@@asplmn I'd rather have less resolution than less frames. I can tell between 60hz and 120hz but not 4K to 1080P on a small phone. I'm hoping they'll have an option to turn down the resolution
@@ScottP77 While it might seem logical that reducing the resolution of a phone's display would save battery life, the reality is a bit more complex. The physical number of pixels on the display doesn't change, regardless of what resolution the screen is running at. This means that all the pixels on a 4K display still need to be powered, even if the content being displayed is at a lower resolution like 1080p. The main power draw from a screen comes from the backlight that illuminates the pixels. On an OLED display, each pixel is individually lit, meaning that displaying a black pixel uses no power. However, on an LCD display, a backlight illuminates all pixels, regardless of their color, which means power consumption remains relatively constant, regardless of what's being displayed. In terms of processing, there may be a slight reduction in GPU workload when rendering graphics at a lower resolution, which could result in minor battery savings. However, the display itself is still likely to be the primary power draw. It's also worth noting that many phones with high-resolution displays already use dynamic resolution scaling to save power when high resolution isn't needed, which is handled by the operating system and the apps themselves. So, while running a 4K screen at 1080p might save a small amount of battery life due to reduced GPU load, the overall impact on battery life is likely to be minimal. More substantial battery savings can usually be achieved by reducing screen brightness, limiting background app activity, and managing the use of power-intensive features like GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular data
@@asplmn I appreciate the information. What you're saying makes sense, and I'll have to look into their dynamic resolution capabilities. Even still, just like with WiFi or gps or refresh rate, if toggling 4k is an option it would be nice to be able to do at will. Even if it is a small difference.
I watched your video over Sony's! Love your content. Fun fact, your videos ended up sending my career on a different and better trajectory. So I owe you a huge thanks!
This is definitely my next phone! I've finally found a replacement for my Xperia XZ3, it still works like new after 4 years, but finally a worthy replacement!
Ditto. I've got the 5 iii and it's just on the edge of too large for my taste. Although I've used larger and may again. Here's hoping it has the new sensor too!
Finally, I've been wanting Sony to do this for years of sending out review units before launch, inly a month between announcement and launch, plus paying for actual advertisement. Hopefully these will help with their sales
Watching this on my LG V60, after just having made an award-winning film on my LG v40, where I used my LG v20 for 24-bit audio, where I also used my lgv30 as my B camera. But I digress. LOL. I will definitely be buying this phone to use as my main phone, and as a monitor for my Panasonic S5. :-) Great review as always, you are the reliable source. Thanks for your diligent and entertaining reviews. Glad you're still at it.
Nice iteration and now with a well-needed more efficient SoC. Though like others I do wish for better software support. In comparison Asus is committing to 4 years of security updates at last on the latest ROG Phone and will likely do so for the latest ZenFone too, and Sharp is now committing to 3 years of major updates and 5 years of security updates for the Aqos R8 lineup, which makes it the more sad that it's Japan only.
I think, Sony makes the Best android smartphones. They dont go with flashy things and dont follow stupid trends either. I still use my XZ1 compact and it still works flawlessly. I bought my phone for exact reasons Sony makes them. I love camera shutter button, I love side fingerprint reader, I love sd card slot, I love plugging in my Fidelio headphones, while I charging my phone at end of day, I love near stock Android feel. And battery care is what makes my phone run all day. Only thing what will make me buy new phone is 32GB internal memory 😁 I almost bought mark5 IV, but they had overheating problems and there was no wireless charging, hopefully this year...
This will absolutely be my next phone (the silver one). I have had my Xperia 1 mark ii for three years now and it has been great. Still works perfectly, but there are now more than enough upgraded features and hardware to warrant an upgrade.
Reminds me so much of Lexus doing the IS500, it doesn't bring to the table a philosophy that follows the trends of nowadays, but built to a specific demographic who can appreciate what quality time means.
Where is your Sony 1 VI preview and comparison with the 1 V ? Because, after the s3, s4, s7, s9, & s10, I was deserted by Samsung. So I ready to buy a Sony Xperia - either the 1 V or 1 VI . A major question is how these phones perform in the USA (AT&T). If I buy the 1 V, I will get USA VERSION. And Sony is not making a 1 VI USA VERSION, so I want to know how the 1 VI GLOBAL VERSION works. How did the 1 V GLOBAL VERSION work?
I got a 2nd hand 1 IV a few weeks ago and I really love it. The improvements from the 1 II are nice, thoughtful design changes like the larger power button, textured shutter button, and sharper sides. The Samsung-fabbed 8G1 is a bit of a bummer, though, it runs really hot and performance doesn't last even in Project Sekai (a rhythm game, where consistent performance is vital). I love the telephoto system on it, was concerned to see it not ported to the 5 IV, but happy to see it return for the 1 V. I want to see where Sony can take the telephoto system, could they squeeze longer zoom ranges out of it, how much can they improve image quality, could they find a way to tie a mechanical aperture to the zoom so that it doesn't dim as you zoom in. I see a lot of scope for development from the 85-125mm, f2.2-2.8 system we have now, which excites me.
Asus ROG phone 7 is another example of a notcless/holeless display. It also has bettr specs - 16Gb Ram, huge battery. It however lacks in the camera department and is not water resistant
Yeah there's a few phones out there with the headphone jack. Zenfone 9. But I don't know if any flagships current gen that have both SD card and a headphone jack.. There are some budget devices that have both
@@michaelcorcoran8768 Sharp Aqos R8 and R8 Pro, the only flagships that I know combining Sd card, headphone jack, 3 years of major updates and 5 years of security updates. Unfortunately they will be Japan only, and with how expensive they are likely going to be, better not think about import. Though, if affording it wouldn't be much of a dent in my wallet, I would probably do just that. Still, I'm considering upgrading to a ROG Phone 7 from my ZenFone 6, and that also ain't cheap. I'm not upgrading before the end of the year anyway so I'm looking forward to a few other phones, including the ZenFone 10.
It will be interesting to see how it handles thermal and low-light photography compared to my Xperia I IV. Hopefully, some of the camera app improvements will filter down to the I IV. Looking forward to your objective review when you get the release software
I have the 1 Iv currently and I said to myself I will wait for the 1 vi or even 1 vii before I upgrade but damn does this sound compelling to upgrade Already
I am a Sony user since 2010 , used all flagships until 2022! All phones have only 1 problem and never been solved: Heating of the processor very fast and stopping working properly. Especially during video recording, in 5 minutes getting hot and poping a system alert!! Thats why I switched to Moto edge 20 (no heating, no alerts, no interruptions during video record)
ROG Phone and gaming phones in general uses front firing speakers. The ROG Phone 5 onwards started using symmetrical front firing speakers to my knowledge Also, Sony did pioneered HS Power draw and gaming phones adopted it (called Bypass charging on the ROG Phones) but other gaming phones also pioneered a lot of other battery saving features. Scheduled charging - you can set a specific time WHEN you want your battery to be full. I usually do this with my ROG Phone 2 when overnight charging. I leave plugged it for the night and set it to full ONLY during the morning so no worries about overcharging Limit Charging - set a percentage as a full charge. Instead of 100%, you can set your battery to be full on 90% or 80% Steady Charging - similar to scheduled charging but without the time. Instead of fast charging, your battery slowly fills up
3:06 the one i know is the Asus ROG Phone series, but they aim at certain customers who games competitively, the lineups all have this front facing speakers feature
Oh my beloved! Flagship specs with headphone jack and sd card slot. Btw juan does this have am fm radio app? Like some budget phones has it with headphone jack. Edit :- Just checked the app list from your video, sadly it doesn't have that.
thank you for the great Xperia 1 mark V showcase... i really love SONY phones... have done since 2000 (SONY CMD Z5) and many features on SONY smartphones arent available on other brands handsets... full waterproof and dustproof handsets... headphones jack... twin front facing speakers... complete Game Enhancer Mode... optical telephoto zoom... micro SD card... any many other things like Side Sense and Multi Window.... also the almost stock Android experience with minimal modifications is perfect... the thing with SONY is they design and go their own way... their focus on the smartphone line is cutting edge tech... good software optimisation... great hardware with excellent screens and camera setups... i had the Xperia 1 back in mid 2019 and that phone blew me away... it really was incredible... but since then i purchased the Xperia 1 mark ii and Xperia 1 mark iii... my contract wont come up for renewal until 2024 Spring but even though the 1 mark vi will release in 2024 i think ill be wanting the 1 mark V... love your detailed and fair coverage of SONY gear and honestly im tired of the Apple/Samsung shills who slate SONY phones for the most trivial of reasons... but then they get their sponsorships from promoting Apple and Samsung... go figure... anyways thanks again... great video!
I am currently running the Xperia 1 ii and really like it. The Mark V looks like a complete package that I am very tempted to upgrade. Look forward to seeing your deep dive on the new camera features and battery performance of this phone.
I really like that they provided on screen shutter button for the photography pro app when you rotate the camera to portrait configuration because it makes much easier to shoot while in portrait configuration and with one hand. More steady shot can be made compared to the shutter button which can caust quite a bit of shake Hopefully this will be updated for the Pro-I too
I think a Sony Xperia will be my next phone, not willing to give up on SD card support, currently using a samsung s20 ultra, need a lot of storage for work on my phone and the S20 ultra is the last S model with sd card support...
Your reviews are always amazing and so indepth. You convinced me to purchase this device and leave my pixel 5. I quit caring for google when they decided to folow the other devs with their "Pro" approach and removing features that should have never left.
Juan, you put it perfectly - upgrading the software continually without gutting the legacy features. Expandable storage and a headphone jack!! I'm in love - but MAN you gotta pay the price just for legacy features. I would expect if Sony were ever to delve into " buying cloud storage " we would see expandable storage dissapear. But why manufacturers would give you 4K / 60 hz or 120 hz recording capability without expandable storage is just foolish.
If you meet with Sony, tell them to bring back the 960 fps mode to the Xperia 1 VI with better quality and longer record time (2-3 second) with end trigger mode.
@@SomeGadgetGuy just something to think about for Sony. The 960 fps mode has potential if they can just make it a bit better quality and have it record for at least 2 seconds with an end trigger record mode to better capture the moment.
Thanks Juan, Looking forward to your future reviews, was going to go with the "IV" but will be waiting on the "V". The features of the headphone jack, expandable memory for my wave audio files and finally the front firing speakers are special. So annoying that other devices send the audio out to other people not the owner of the device. Btw, it would be good to review the "phone" performance too please (call quality, reception, network types, etc). 😊
8:21 "sony did not make the jump to larger sensor until they can match or beat all the capabilities of the smaller sensor" They already have a 1" sensor on some other models. Xperia 1 IV was a 1399 euros phone. I would expect the best available hardware and software on this phone series. It is one of the most expensive phone on the market
Really enjoyed your video, even though this phone is way out of my price range it's still seems to be very impressive and maybe in the future some of these features may pop down to some of the other models, for example improving the battery performance without just increasing the size.
I'd like to see a dedicated RAW night comparison between this and the 1" boys and other 1/1.3" boys to see how that new technology affects the grain of noise at high ISO. The way that Sony describes it, sounds like it should be able to nullify the sensor area difference to the 1" boys, but in this case, seeing will be believing. Still, having that bigger sensor while still keeping 4K120, that's rad. And thank you, Sony, for keeping the cameras near the edge of the phone, where it's still easier to mount aftermarket lens adapters. (*glares disappointedly at Huawei/Oppo/Vivo/Xiaomi...*)

Oh techies will still pan it. Like they need REASONS 😅
I have the 1 IV and i love it! Never disappointed with Sony mobile
I just found out about this channel, I love how focused you are on making your community feel good ❤
Based on tests I have seen on this device out there, I am very very impressed. Natural colours and minimal processing on photos and videos, better controlled thermals than some of it's predecessors, and that 4K display and that classy design and even competitive pricing in some (hopefully all) markets. I hope Sony reap success with this phone.
same here.....hopefully what Sony is doing starts to pay off for them
I'm still happy with my LG V60, but this phone has just shot to the top of my list.
Thanks for all you do to keep us in the loop, my good man!
I'd still keep the V60. It's a rare beast that still has no direct replacement.
I have mine too.. At&t stopped supporting my particular model after they shut their 3g.. So i got a 1 iii..
I still got mine too, i wish LG still made phones
Thank you for all your great work 💪
my lg g8 is starting to show its age. thanks for this review, it gives me hope for a potential replacement
Sony is the last game in town. It's the only replacement left for a phone like a G8.
Waist of money, hardware is good but the software sucks really bad.
Prepare to spend 1300 euros then. It is more expensive than the S23 Ultra. But if the micro sd is that important to you than I guess there's little choice.
How is the camera button? I have an Xperia 1 III and a pro I, and the pro- I has a softer press. The III is a little harder to push all the way down.
😎🇬🇧
It's surprising to me how underrated Sony phones are. I'm glad there a few people that still enjoy them 😁
Who knew that I would feel that hyped for portrait awareness with the camera lol. I love all the Sony features, but im glad they are making it easier for snapping a quick portrait photo.
Those gadgets are versusing themselves eachother for who is the best.
Oh man, this is THE phone. I really hope I can get my hands on one.
One question: Can you change the screen resolution? I'd step down from 4k and squeeze a little more battery life if it's possible.
just turn on stamina/battery saver mode
Or, just don't enable that the 120hz
Hey! Glad to hear that!
This is definitely my next phone! I've finally found a replacement for my Xperia XZ3, it still works like new after 4 years, but finally a worthy replacement!
Great family video on the phone 😊😊😊 must of been a great family party
I'll be waiting for the 5 v to drop. I just find the form factor way easier to handle and the sub 1k price doesn't hurt as much as 1.5k
It's a good time for that option too. Probably lose the variable tele lens, but it'll be a CHAMP against an S23+
I hope Sony smartphones will make a comeback in my country
Only thing what will make me buy new phone is 32GB internal memory 😁
I almost bought mark5 IV, but they had overheating problems and there was no wireless charging, hopefully this year...
Happy Xperia 1 V Day my man. 🎉🎉🎉
HAPPY XPERIA DAY 😁
I really just wish they would put these phones on a carrier. I would definitely get this on tmobile if they had it. And I have a Z Fold4
Best phone ever but I wish it was available from carriers such as rogers/bell/freedom
First view of the Xperia V through you Juan. Amazing ... Really looking forward to more coverage on this.
Great work on the video Juan! Thanks for making it.
First time viewer. Thank you for bringing up optics and points no one has brought up about this phone. Very refreshing.
😎👍
Great phone but they should have kept that notification light switched from xz3 to g8 and really miss that tiny light 😅
Nice coverage on the 1 V. Can you also review that stylus you were using?
Rarely i see you soooo glowingly happy about Sony. If i had the money and available in Indonesia, I'll grab this phone
This will absolutely be my next phone (the silver one). I have had my Xperia 1 mark ii for three years now and it has been great. Still works perfectly, but there are now more than enough upgraded features and hardware to warrant an upgrade.
Mark 2 to Mark 5 will be a NICE upgrade 😊
Exactly what I thought about the naming, it doesn't have "pro" or "ultra" even though Sony would deserve that title more than others.
Definitely picking this over the Pixel Fold I had my heart on. I'll keep my Fold 3 and get the 1V instead. I skipped over the IV.
Mini folding tablets are cool, but I can't step down from this camera tech. 2023 is BLOWING MY MIND with fun photography options.
The new surface texture looks great
It's pretty cool.
I am so excited for this. It's sounding basically perfect for my needs. Looking forward to more of your coverage Juan.
At last I found a reviewer not bribed by sammy. You get a like and a sub from me for your honesty. Good job.
Asus ROG phone 7 is another example of a notcless/holeless display. It also has bettr specs - 16Gb Ram, huge battery. It however lacks in the camera department and is not water resistant
The Asus ROG phone has dual front facing speaker and 3.5mm audio jack, however no micro-sd expansion.
Yeah there's a few phones out there with the headphone jack. Zenfone 9. But I don't know if any flagships current gen that have both SD card and a headphone jack..
There are some budget devices that have both
ROG! I knew I was forgetting one.
It's not out yet but this is gonna be my new phone. Saying this while my LG V50 refuses to die.
The v50 is such a tank of a phone. Run that puppy into the ground!
the only big probkema of the mark 4 was the heating..have they solved the oroproblem with this new processor?? Thank you
It will be interesting to see how it handles thermal and low-light photography compared to my Xperia I IV.
I think the ROG 7 also has matching, front facing speakers as well. Would love to that device in the gadget lab some day
This is why I like Sony ! Because they have so many years of experience with tech 😊
ROG Phone and gaming phones in general uses front firing speakers. The ROG Phone 5 onwards started using symmetrical front firing speakers to my knowledge
Also, Sony did pioneered HS Power draw and gaming phones adopted it (called Bypass charging on the ROG Phones) but other gaming phones also pioneered a lot of other battery saving features.
Scheduled charging - you can set a specific time WHEN you want your battery to be full. I usually do this with my ROG Phone 2 when overnight charging. I leave plugged it for the night and set it to full ONLY during the morning so no worries about overcharging
Limit Charging - set a percentage as a full charge. Instead of 100%, you can set your battery to be full on 90% or 80%
Steady Charging - similar to scheduled charging but without the time. Instead of fast charging, your battery slowly fills up
3:06 the one i know is the Asus ROG Phone series, but they aim at certain customers who games competitively, the lineups all have this front facing speakers feature
I still use my Experia 1 mk II. Very happy. I doubt I will ever buy anything else than a Sony phone. Long lasting quality.
158k ? Severly heavily ly underrated channel , keep it up bro 😅
I prefer QUALITY subscribers over quantity subs 😉
Does it have a dynamic refresh rate option on the display?
The music at 4:58 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nice one Juan
Oh my beloved! Flagship specs with headphone jack and sd card slot.
Btw juan does this have am fm radio app? Like some budget phones has it with headphone jack.
Edit :- Just checked the app list from your video, sadly it doesn't have that.
Sony never put FM Radio on their flagships apps for long time. Iirc, the last flagship Sony phone to have FM Radio was the Z5.
thank you for the great Xperia 1 mark V showcase... i really love SONY phones... have done since 2000 (SONY CMD Z5) and many features on SONY smartphones arent available on other brands handsets... full waterproof and dustproof handsets... headphones jack... twin front facing speakers... complete Game Enhancer Mode... optical telephoto zoom... micro SD card... any many other things like Side Sense and Multi Window.... also the almost stock Android experience with minimal modifications is perfect... the thing with SONY is they design and go their own way... their focus on the smartphone line is cutting edge tech... good software optimisation... great hardware with excellent screens and camera setups... i had the Xperia 1 back in mid 2019 and that phone blew me away... it really was incredible... but since then i purchased the Xperia 1 mark ii and Xperia 1 mark iii... my contract wont come up for renewal until 2024 Spring but even though the 1 mark vi will release in 2024 i think ill be wanting the 1 mark V... love your detailed and fair coverage of SONY gear and honestly im tired of the Apple/Samsung shills who slate SONY phones for the most trivial of reasons... but then they get their sponsorships from promoting Apple and Samsung... go figure... anyways thanks again... great video!
Please talk about heating issue which was present in previous model
I am currently running the Xperia 1 ii and really like it. The Mark V looks like a complete package that I am very tempted to upgrade. Look forward to seeing your deep dive on the new camera features and battery performance of this phone.
pretty sure the Asus ROG phones still run the front facing dual speakers.
and a headphone jack.
but, cameras leave a bit to be desired.
I really like that they provided on screen shutter button for the photography pro app when you rotate the camera to portrait configuration because it makes much easier to shoot while in portrait configuration and with one hand. More steady shot can be made compared to the shutter button which can caust quite a bit of shake
Hopefully this will be updated for the Pro-I too
Finally a reviewer that isnt only focusing on the cameras and the looks of the phone thank you
We gonna do some gaming on this too for sure...
I think a Sony Xperia will be my next phone, not willing to give up on SD card support, currently using a samsung s20 ultra, need a lot of storage for work on my phone and the S20 ultra is the last S model with sd card support...
SD card are still relevant in 2023 and they never gone outdated.
The fact that it has an sd card slot is enough for me
If you meet with Sony, tell them to bring back the 960 fps mode to the Xperia 1 VI with better quality and longer record time (2-3 second) with end trigger mode.
I would, but 4k slowmotion is rocking my socks right now 😁
@@SomeGadgetGuy just something to think about for Sony.
8:21 "sony did not make the jump to larger sensor until they can match or beat all the capabilities of the smaller sensor"
They already have a 1" sensor on some other models.
Continuing to improve all the legacy feature people use to enjoy - Fare enough to buy one
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO GET THIS DEVICE. I am so excited for this device. I have the 1 mark III and it's still a powerhouse. Sony is and continues to be my favorite phone.
Great first look at photography, video and gaming features! But how about audio features for music creatives?
Wow. So happy I watch this. Excellent Sony phone.
I really hope Sony can do the next Xperia Pro i Mark 2.
SAME! It would be rad to see an Exmor T version of the 1" sensor with a variable aperture 😍
will watch out for the full review...
I wanted to make the jump from the IV to the V . But the trade in deals weren't that great, plus I bought my wife a phone. I just made the jump to the VI. It was a challenge since I live in the USA,but I am very happy with it. I hope you get a chance to review it
