- Join us for live coverage of the 2023 FIA Formula 3 World Cup held as part of the 70th edition of the Macau Grand Prix.
The FIA Formula 3 and GT World Cups are being held at Macau’s unique and demanding Guia Circuit for the first time since 2019, headlining the 70th running of the Macau Grand Prix.
FIA-sanctioned races are set to return to the renowned Asian street circuit as part of a three-year agreement resulting from joint efforts by the FIA, Macau’s FIA member club, Automobile General Association Macao-China (AAMC), and the Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee.
The two FIA competitions will take place from 16 - 19 November, with the action kicking off on Thursday and the format featuring two 40-minute-long free practice sessions and two qualifying sessions for Formula 3, as well as two 30-minute practice sessions followed by single qualifying of the same duration for GT cars.
Both competitions will be held across two race heats over the weekend, each with a qualifying race followed by a title-deciding main race. The race durations will be 10 and 15 laps for F3 and 12 and 16 laps for GT cars. The F3 World Cup winner will be classed as the overall Macau Grand Prix winner.
Formula 3 is the ultimate training ground and talent-spotting formula for the stars of tomorrow. Formula 3 drivers race in both Europe and Asia in cars complying with a similar set of technical regulations throughout the world. Thus, the FIA Formula 3 World Cup provides the ideal opportunity to muster the best drivers of the year in a legendary race - the Macau Grand Prix! Riccardo Patrese, Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, David Coulthard, Ralf Schumacher and Lucas di Grassi have all won this special race, while countless other star drivers have tried only in vain to become the Macau GP winner.

Great Race
With F1 cars getting “smaller”….cant this epic track get onto the F1 circuit. It has SO much history, easy to get to and within 10hrs flying of half the planet’s population.
F2 cars are way to big for this circuit, some of the drivers in this race are f2 drivers but have to use f3 cars to get around the circuit, f1 cars would need to be the size they were over 20 years ago
In fact one F1 car came to Macau 20 years ago to celebrate the 50th Macau GP. The video is still on RUclips and you can search for it.. very good old days now even Macau F3 is cancelled from 2024 onwards
First, thank you, FIA, for sharing this event with us on YT. Second, why was the entry list so odd this year? Three of the top five finishers in the FIA F3 championship--Gabriel Bortoleto (champion), Zak O'Sullivan, and Franco Colapinto--weren't even in the Macau GP. Seems very odd. Anyone know why?
Colapinto was sick which is why Dennis Hauger was there i think. Idk about the others

Remember when races could end under yellow and they were run to distance? Glad to see it in this series! I'll never forget the end of the Indy 500 from 2023, a disgrace to release the cars for one lap leading to one lap of green? Though it didn't happen, was there any consideration of how high the risk of a massive wreck by doing that? I think not!

When a driver see flames, has to stop and help driver to get out. I'm sad that none of this young drivers stops there to help .
