An L sign involves putting your hand all the way to your forhead and taunting. His hand comes up for not even a second. Replay that part of the video and you can see it's impossible.

That said, if one of my athletes ever flipped the "loser" sign - it wasn't a "dab" - to a fellow competitor during a meet, not only would I disqualify that athlete but also suspend for at least one future event. If happens again, longer suspension. Again, off the team for good.

His palm is facing down, never goes above eye level, and his hand is on the side of his head as he looks over. There's no way he was taunting Kiprop. Kiprop couldn't have even seen it from where he was.
Ya, so? Why would anyone celebrate winning a race with that time? 73 seconds off the American record! Americans need to stop running to win "local" meets and start training/racing to win international events. No more "sit and kick", running an "honest" race will prepare them for racing the africans. It's working for Ingerbritzen.

You can't ask your body to do incredible things if you haven't prepared it for the effort.
