    Thx for this vid and for showing the world that PS3's Super Slim Cell CPU chip isn't glued or soldered to IHS and can be removed. I will most certainly try it based on your vid and replace thermal paste on the chip with the liquid metal.

      @@NSC-Modz Thx, indeed I am gonna go fully with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut in between heatsink and IHS and Conductonaut in between chip die and IHS👍 As one of the owners of Thermal Grizzly derBauer www.youtube.com/@der8auer has proved many times over on his channel liquid metal Conductonaut is usually even better than indium + tin solder used on the CPUs IHS.

    It's interesting to see the substrate color on these later CELL chips. Nice work! Have you tried using floss or LCD cutting wire for delids before?

    • @NSC-Modz
      @NSC-Modz  Год назад +1

      Thank you very much. No, never needed to try it, my tool was always enough. The thing is also, you need to take care with some wires. The traces over the CPU are so thin, they get damaged and scratched easily. Fishing line also breaks often while cutting. But should all be possible so long you take care while doing stuff like that 😆

      That is true... I had one PS3 FAT with completely dried thermal paste between die and IHS..
      When I powered it on fan was running at 100% speed for 3~5 secs then the console turned off just like YLOD..
      but it was caused by shitty 'genuine' thermal under the IHS...

      Sure, but it's like that, when your console is mostly on standby, there you can be sure the battery will last longer. If your console is mostly without energy, (completely off) there you should renew the battery more often.

    I delied my model 4304c. I used some precision knives and a razor blade. I want to point out that the temperatures were the same before and after delied. In games like GTA V with the fan at 30%, I have CPU 58° GPU 62° and with syscon rise up to 71°.
