Brexit: PM hints at snap election if MPs block no deal

  • He says he doesn't want one, but within the last hour Boris Johnson has kept open the possibility of a snap election if MPs defy him in the Commons. Tonight: the Prime Minister versus a divided Parliament. He threatens to his own MPs to come into line or face expulsion from the Conservative Party. Opponents of a No Deal Brexit have just published a rebel bill that would demand of Mr Johnson an extension to the 31st January 2020. Tonight who wins in this dramatic stand off? Plus former Prime Ministers don't often criticise their successors. I've been talking to Tony Blair about why he's determined to speak out.

    Tony Blair waking up with rage and despair is very comforting, to me. As someone that voted remain, I am now convinced Boris Johnson is moving Brexit in the right direction. Tony acknowledges that “People may not want to listen to me.” He uses the “crash out of the EU” mantra like he used to throw out “WMDs”, A psychopath of the purest form.

      Blair's Trotskyist cohort, all elected to high office and strong media positions during his tenure as PM, is what now is so successfully destroying the country's last and final chance of attaining any independence from the global social collectivist experiment.
      The decades old left wing coup in the UK rolls on unabated, well lubricated by a strongly left wing media, and what now seems to be a thoroughly unread and sadly faithful bovine population.
      One would guess Ms. A Sandbach, despite her position, to be just one of the latter.

    • @sixmagpies
      @sixmagpies 4 года назад

      @Scumspawn ***** Curios viewpoint.
      Blair admitted, after his premiership, to being an active member of the Trotskyist association at Oxford. During his time in power, Labour appointed a number of his then associates to high office. Most of them are still there.
      Labour used to represent socialist principles and the working man. The Tory's used to represent conservatism and the establishment.
      Both parties have relinquished their fundamental principles, and it's interesting now to see so many in each party now sitting so deep in, and defending, what used to be seen as opposition territory. It's become an unholy mess of corruptly controlled greed and ignorance over principle.
      Meanwhile, for three decades, the purposely neat looking and fastidiously well organised EU totalitarian machine has determinedly lobbied (using UK own taxpayers funds against them ) to convert Britain's young and naive, or simply immature and ill-read, to the faith based religion of rule by an unelected and totally centralised collective being a better option than personal sovereignty.
      And all this despite the self-evident fact that the EU has never created or legislated even one thing beneficial to the people of Britain since being empowered in 1993.

The whole reason you are still in is that practically everyone that take a looked at the technical aspects of leaving knows you are fucked. So they are praying that the EU will give you 'something'. What they didn't understood (which was clear to everyone else for 3 years) is that all your ridiculous demand make it worst then a no-deal for the EU. They are not going to hurt themselves more then a no-deal just to do you any favors. If you have any common sense, you would have understood that. If you have any common sense, you would have understood that the withdraw agreement was the best you could ever get that involve leaving, which isn't all that good at all. Again it is the MPs against the people. I remember the time MPs represented the people. Back then MPs didn’t stay in their Westminster bubble. They knew what was going on in the working class. Cities have changed completely since the last time a Labour MP showed up outside their Square Mile. Most Labour MP’s have never witnessed poverty or knife crime. And now they are doing everything to avoid any changes in the status quo. Labour keeps trusting the EU to do what is best for the UK. Go and see how the EU policies have worked out. We need to determine our own future. The EU is heading in the wrong direction (more globalism and less democracy near the people). It may be to late allready, but we have to try and stop the decline.

    I think it should be a rule that all former Prime Ministers should stay quiet and keep out of present day politics. They had their turn
    To run the country, and not to criticize their successors or publicly comment on present day eventswould be the descent thing for them to do. So far Theresa May has done the
    Right thing and stayed quiet. It seems ridiculous to give so much air time to Tony Blair years after he left office. He ran the country for 10 years
    and has had many years and opportunities to express and carry out his views.
    To say Britain is a democracy, or at least a real one, is simply not true any more. 2 examples being the EU Referendum where most MPs want
    To ignore a democratic result and keep Britain in the EU and a second vote would be inconvenient in case people voted to leave again and
    The Iraq War in 2003 where most MPs backed attacking Iraq even though most of the population was totally against it. Therefore Mr. Blair is in
    No position to complain about Boris Johnson doing anti democratic things. Mr. Blair should leave the political stage, after all the curtain fell on his
    Premiership 12 long years ago now, and the same applies to John Major, Gordon Brown and David Cameron as well as Mr. Blair and Mrs. May.

      No they don't. But they are not getting a chance to say that because a small group of elitist unelected MP's are running the country and they want to make rules (laws) to suit them. A survey has shown that 98% of those who voted for the leave party have a very low standard of education and mist if these are in England who had the majority share of the vote. Scotland voted overwhelmingly to remain as Europeans clearly because it has higher standards of education per head and s a forward thinking country - unlike England which thinks its bs k in the 1900's. Of course, we all know now why England (or just 1%) tipped the balance to leave. Immigration and the fear of radical Islam. Before all of this Brexit nonsense, muslims in the UK often demonstrated calling for the death of the UK and one politician was killed fir her left wing sympathies by a right wing fascist. For some reason England gas grown a low IQ society who now have the loaded voice - a bit like America. It's populist politics and as far as the future us concerned... it's its over for the UK. It will break up soon. The Scots want independence now. They've been propping up the economy with oil from the North sea and getting very little in return from England.
