This type of interview suits Tyla so much. That breakfast club one was a disaster, she trives on a more entertaining and friendly environment and Youngji is the best at bringing the fun side out of female celebrities.
The Breakfast Club interview was mean. They were trying to set her & try to label her a colorist, but the whole time, they NEVER did their research on South Africa & how they label race in HER culture. If they did, NONE of those ignorant questions would have ever been asked for her to reject. As a Black American, I was ashamed of their behavior towards Tyla.
Tyla has gotten better treatment on this show than she has ever gotten on any podcast or interviews in America. She gets treated like trash in the States and hated by black Americans because she's from South Africa and she doesn't obsess over her race or skin color like black Americans do.
This isn’t the gag u think it is. There’s a reason why African Americans have to think that way. We didn’t create the system we live in. It’s different in Africa especially even just the rest of Africa and South Africa. Get your mind out the gutter and think beyond what you know and your own perspective because this is why Africans and African Americans go at it. These comments ignore both histories. It sucks she wasn’t treated well but maybe if she has the same mentality as you do, it would cause tension. Plus if she wanted to market herself for more western side then she would need to know that certain things in Africa don’t make sense or the same thing in America. Like how Africans that are black call themselves colored but here in the states it’s offensive. Because of OUR history so that’s why Africa Americans felt a type of way and rightfully so like slavery and civil rights was 1000 years ago, people born with segregation are still alive today. P.S it’s also ironic how most Africans be the ones so pressed but African Americans understand that our history is so similar and different at the same time. Yet we give yall the benefit of the doubt but yall refuse to learn and be empathic towards your American brothers/sisters/everything in between. It goes both ways
@@suffering2697 but coloreds in south africa arent black, coloreds are mix of khoi people, white, indian, asian and you can google it for yourself "The Coloured / Malay community is predominantly descended from numerous interracial sexual unions, primarily between Western European men with Khoisan, Indian and Asian women in the Cape Colony from the 17th century onwards." so no she is not black its is racist to force her to be black in america when she is not. you dont force an asian person to be white in america do you? coloreds are their own race.
@@suffering2697No, it's not the "west" but it's just you guys. Literally every black diaspora in the world has such an unique relationship with Africa and don't look down on brothers and sisters, but YOU do. There's a reason why so many black people all around the world think many (not all) African Americans are absolutely insufferable. And the way you treat african artists and try to apply YOUR logic to the rest is why you guys have to wake up, open books and LEARN about your ancestry. Also Africans don't call themselves coloured. Coloured has a specific meaning in SA, not Africa as a whole. Stop being ignorant. White people colonised your mind so much, you have the same entitlement of a regular white seppo. Disgusting. Also if you actually knew South African history, you wouldn't even dare to say the thing you said there.

Our South African accent is quite flat so it's easy to repeat what we hear - I taught in Taiwan for a year and the kids were always so shocked at how well I could repeat Chinese back to them.
TSouth african friends: i I heard Trevor NOAH say "AISH!" on several occasions. Is it a thing in South Africa? It reminds me of the famous "Aish" in Korean.
You’re acting like your mom wasn’t bussin it open for some 80’s rockstar or someone like Michael Jackson back in the day bro. What they’re doing is mild.
why their behavior is disgusting. It 's like two monkeys were put in an aviary . Okay, one of them was born in a zoo, but why is the second one behaving like that?
they are the perfect chaotic duo
yesss
It must have come so naturally to Tyla. Coloured South Africans are generally this crazy. 😅

*npc. it means "non-playable character" :)

@@mreep604 They clearly knew what npc meant and it was definitely a misclick since the n and m are next to each other
