That was a great review. I'm just worried cause I'm an ibanez wizard neck guy and I can't really test this one out yet. I'm so used to the wizard neck that all necks feels like a huge difference to me. But I'm prety impressed by these Solar Guitars.
Thanks ! The neck on the solar is like a slightly fatter ibanez neck You notice That Ola is a ibanez fan for sure becuse its allitle fatter but its still perfect size for medium to small hands aswell :)
Great video Robin, thanks for your effort. You're making me really look forward to getting my Solar towards December. We will have a lot to talk about when I have it I guess. :) More please!
Hey, Robin! Thanks a lot for this vid! I think you're the only one who compared different range models from Solar, yet it's really interesting to know the difference. Did you have a chance to compare swamp ash and mahogany Solar models? I own a 7 string White a2.7 snd I really wanna know if the open pore ash body a1.7 is really different in sound. ,I mean apart from the evertune and locking tuners, do you know if there is a real difference in wood quality and class? I mean, it's almost times teo more expensive...
Wood quality i would say is the same becuse its the same builder :) tone wise i havent tried them, only mahogany and mahogany Bodies tends to be allitle darker sounding imo :) in this vid i compare alder to mahogany and with High distortion You can barely hear a difference, its more or a feel thing :)
Hey Robin love your comparison. Great video. I have a question. I own a solar A1.6 FRC and it sounds amazing. Recently i bought a V2.6 White and it sounds muffled unlike the A1.6. Does your 2.6 sounds muffled too? I am using 11-50 string gauge on the 2.6 and play on Boss Katana 100 MK2. Would like to know your opinion. Thanks in advance.
Late response, but better than non. I've bought tele in 1 and 2 version. I found some significant difference in sound, even both had the same pick up. I bet it's a matter of body. Version 1 was adler, 2 was mahogany.
Hey man! Great video! I'm planning on buying an A2.6 at the end of the month. Do you think the tone on the A1.6 is worth the extra $400 or is the tone from the A2.6 close enough? I'm okay with the hardware of the A2.6. I'm a tone fanatic that is usually a massive deciding factor for me! Blessings from South Africa.
If you just take the sound then no not worth the 400 extra. BUT the evertune and other hardware improvements makes it worth it =) But you will get an AMAZING guitar with the A2.6 its not like Ibanez where a cheaper guitar is bad. I will do another video of the A2.6 next week i belive =)
ok, as modern rythm riffing player that is looking for some aggressive modern rythms, would you suggest those solars or an LTD M or MH 1000 series? Which one and why? Thanks in advance! Great video :)
cool! depends what you like when sitting really =) if you sit like classical with guitar inbetween you can use a V and if you sit with the guitar on your right leg you can go E =) if you only stand then what looks cooler? =D
The only thing I don't like about Solar guitars is that big ass logo on the fretboard and the tiny side dots (with the A2 at least). This hinders orientation and can be confusing while shredding.
There is some solars with dots in the fretboard aswell but i dont really think it is a problem becuse i think the dots on the side is enought :D and if i get lost the 12th fret is the center of the logo :)
Good video. As for the evertune bridge I’ll give it a miss it’s a one trick pony yes you can bend but the sustain is not very good when you do, I would not be happy with that. Apart from that it looks like a nice guitar and you’re getting a great metal tone out of it.
@@ReXIX2 All jokes aside, great video! I'm starting to obsess about these guitars, I just love them all! (The E2.6 seems to be amazing) Wish I could check one out!
Yupp! thats one of the differences :) Basicly you pay more for better hardware and cooler finishes but the wood is the same for the most part and that is really amazing :)
You sold me on the A1.6. Realizing the value of the hardware drove it home for me.
Awesome! Yes it is really worth it! The a2.6 will play AS well but the hardware and the different looks and woods is worth it!
@Julius Keegan @Angel Randy lame bots
Been trying to figure out whether or not to get the Evertune, since I like bends. You totally answered that question with a yes for me, man. Thanks!
You do alot of guitar tracking! you def need a evertune :) Also changing strings was incredible simple as you dont even need to stretch the strings :D
@@ReXIX2 So awesome!
Awesome man!! Tight playing! Really love the comparison between the two instruments
LOVE my Solar A2.6W, Dying to get an A1.6D
Love the detail you put into your video! You definitely earned a subscriber in me. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for the kind words! :) and thank you for the sub! :)

You will be supriced of how complete it is :)
@@ReXIX2 I'll know all about it soon enough!
Nice review and playing.
Thank you! :)
The 2.6 looks sick. Can't wait to own a Solar myself \,,/
i love white guitars! :)
Nice video Robin.
Can you review a g model please?

Thanks for making this comparison video! Would you say the 1.6 sounds better than the 2.6?
Na they sound really close! i would say that the 1.6 might be allitle brighter as its another wood. Mahogny is allitle darker in the 2.6 =)
Please, if you tune down, does the Evertune keep the strings tight.. or does it get all loose like in a fixed bridge ?

@@ReXIX2 Great! Thank you so much. Looking forward to it!
Love the video! What amp were you using for the vdo? Sounds nice and saturated!
I thiiink i played my Ibanez TSA15H and with the Friedman BE-OD infront for distortion =)
@@ReXIX2 sounds sick! thanks again man!
Can you please send me a link to the a1.6 I looked on the site
Nice review, how much does A2.6 weight ? Thanks.
not more than an ibanez! :D It is mahogany so i guess some is heavier than others but not like an explorer or something like that =)
Killer Review, Killer Guitars! \m/😎
How good does the wood resonate? Does it seem like it was properly dried and seasoned?
Acousticly they both resonate great! Alder and mahogany is both great woods , the alder is allitle brighter
ok, as modern rythm riffing player that is looking for some aggressive modern rythms, would you suggest those solars or an LTD M or MH 1000 series? Which one and why? Thanks in advance! Great video :)
Go with Solar, plays like a much higher priced guitar... butter!
Robin, what is the difference in weight between the two? Would you say the A1 alder body is lighter than the A2 mahogany?
Yeah the alder is allitle bit lighter. But the mahogany one isnt a heavy guitar either :)
We 💜 Solar
what’s the weight difference?
I can't decide between the V2.6C and E2.6C.
cool! depends what you like when sitting really =) if you sit like classical with guitar inbetween you can use a V and if you sit with the guitar on your right leg you can go E =) if you only stand then what looks cooler? =D
@@ReXIX2 The E is sharp enough to also sit in classical position tho
What amp and distortion are you using in the demo ?
The amp was Ibanez TSA15 (really clean 6l6 amp) and the distortion was the Friedman OD i reviewed =)
I am thinking about buying the A1.6FB but I don't like heavy guitars and I cannot find any info about the weight.. can you tell me how much it weighs?
I dont have numbers, but i think it weights about the same as an ordinary RG =) its not a heavy guitar ! :)
