As a death grips fan I've learn 3 things in life 1. Search and destroy anything 2. Whenever guillotine plays in the car go full speed and watch everything glitch 3. Death grips really grips you to death
I’ve seen death grips live twice and they are by far the band I like the most with the worst live shows. One of their last concerts I saw them, they walked up, covered in silhouettes, played for 30 minutes and then walked off and didn’t say a single thing and the show was so loud my friend got an intra ocular migraine for days
WhatT?? I saw them twice as well, once in New Orleans and Once in Dallas. Both shows were some of the best times I've ever had. Craziest crowd ever. It's not even a mosh pit, It's like the whole crowd is one mosh wave. Insane.
I remember working on my laptop and I put Gmail and Restraining Orders, listened to it for 15 minutes without interruption and when I stopped the song, never in my life had I ever felt such peace in my life, not only because I stopped the song, but also the fact that where I was working was no noise at all. I stayed for 10 minutes meditating on that peaceful moment I was. I'm weirdly grateful for that moment.
Glad to see someone talk about the workout potential for Death Grips. Three years ago when I was a stickbug I started lifting to No Love and never stopped, nowadays I'm way bigger, healthier, my life has improved overall, and I'll still flip on the entirety of Bottomless Pit when I make love to a bench press.
by far my favorite video about Death Grips. when i walk in public with them in my headphones, i feel like i’m having the best mental breakdown in the world.
The loudest band I've ever heard in my life was when I was right in front for Anthrax, shit was so loud I literally couldn't hear the music as it was being played at most points, it sounded exactly like when you record a concert on a shitty phone and the volume just makes the speaker shit out, but my ears were doing that in real time. Now I probably need to see Death Grips to see how their loudness compares
I think an aspect of Death Grips that rarely gets mentioned is that their lyrics are fucking poetry. Beware, Artificial Death in the West, Next Grips (Full Moon), all have amazing imagery and rhyming. ADitW in particular reminds me of The Hollow Men by T.S. Eliot with it's apocalyptic, nihilistic symbolism.
I've been relooking into their discography and really trying to digest the lyrics for the past couple of weeks and holy shit, the songs get better beyond the great they were already at. Centuries of damn, Black quarterback, Up my sleeves are all super underrated as far as the meanings in each.
I went to one of their last shows and it was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life, i had never moshed before then and the entire crowd from start to finish was a giant bottomless pit, I don’t think any concert will ever top it.
With dozens of channels aping Sseth's style lately, it's so refreshing to see someone open the video with a direct call out of that fact. I have no qualms with imitating him when you acknowledge it. More power to you
I saw them at riotfest and accidentally sliced my friends eyebrow open with an unintentional headbutt. I had a spiked eyebrow piercing and basically stabbed him in the face with it. The crowd was so chaotic and everyone was doing something different, as opposed to metal shows where there are designated pits, walls of death, etc. It was actual chaos in all its glory, so in the confusion, I was jumping up as he was landing after a jump, not even aware he was still near me, and I clipped him in the head. Easily in my top 3 favorite shows of all time.
This has been my experience at both DG concerts I went to. The crowd is always infused with some primal energy you fully merge into the mass and the whole crowd moves in waves like the ocean. The crowds have always been great. No animosity no conflict just raw primal energy and brotherhood in enjoying this very unique art.
oh my gosh this just unlocked a memory, once i got played mad hard, listened to the money store again and just sprinted back to my hotel and that’s what made me get REALLY into death grips
I've been on their show in Cologne in 2019. Took no drugs but felt high on coke, audience yelling for an encore and stage lights up, they didn't care less, had Ride's sweat and saliva dropping on my face, best concert ever, 10/10
fashion week sounds like what happens when you take 20 allergy relief pills, and the absolute panic, disorganized thoughts, nausea, impending doom, paranoia, and the truest fear you've ever felt hits you at once, AND getting to experience schizophrenia for 12 hours. to me, that's really what it sounds like.
