I owned one of these for about 4 years, went cross country and many other places. In my opinion it is the best one man camper on the road and also works well for two people. I wish I never sold it.
I remember talking to a guy with a Honda Gold Wing with a similar pop up. He & his wife were recently retired & were traveling across Canada. Don't know if I marveled more at the pop up or the fact that he had an older wife that was willing to go on such an adventure.
I met a fellow biker at a KOA in Sevierville, Tenn some time back. Camper looked pertty neat. I ask him what made him decide on the purchase, his answer "I don't have to sleep on the ground'. That worked for me...LOL.....
Yes, this can be pulled by any small vehicle. We have customers pull our trailers with smart cars, mini coopers, miatas, and even the new vanderhall trikes. See more at www.kktrailers.com
Okay, this is a decent design. Were it me, I would add plastic ground plates to the exterior support legs. This would aid in less muck sinking, in case of rain. Other than that, it's stellar.
@@Love-ti7gv That's not bad,,hell,,most people spend more that in 6mo.of going out to eat easily. Neat little camper,,,,,or shoving food in our pie holes,,,I'd rather purchase the camper ,haha!! Happy trails!!!

The interview is on the You Tube channel of Bex Cat-Herder. I am unfortunately not able to link directly due to my limited IT skills and would appreciate it if this could be done as this interview is very much worth seeing.

@@harleyhawk7959 By even thinking of motel rooms, you've missed the entire point of having your own high quality, fast set-up, waterproof accommodation with you on your trip!

You'd be better off. This is an expensive recreational accessory that makes no sense, if one is trying to spend more wisely with a limited budget. It's like a Harley-Davidson in the first place if you have to ask then you can't afford it. Gives me ideas though! I put a trailer hitch on my chopper and I pulled the wood splitter behind it. This thing looks like a really nice little tent trailer in the video. The idea I get from it is to make a camp kitchen instead. It looks like you got to set up the tent part of it anyway right? So just pack a tent along with your Camp kitchen! I have other things to build first but I'll have this for a back burner idea
@@LangoUsDavidLango This is not a replacement for a second hand van, nor is it a purposeless item! To assume so misses the entire point of the design objective! When this was originally designed, there were no camping trailers designed for motorcycles or specifically intended to be able to be towed by them. This design incorporated everything motorcyclists wanted in a compact, lightweight, fast set-up, waterproof camping trailer that also had the capacity to carry their gear without adversely affecting handling, braking or fuel economy. Using quality materials and building to a high standard at low volume in the US, these campers represent good value. They are a custom designed and built vehicle using very few off the shelf parts, and with proper care will last for decades (as proven by the reviews of owners!). Since their launch, others have copied different aspects of their original design, but none have come close to being the complete package that the Mini Mate is.
@@felixcat9318 I beg pardon for disparaging your very fine product. For your customer base, money is no object. Someone who didn't even blink at the $37,000 price tag on their new Harley, would do well to pay extra, and equip it to pull one of your nice trailers. It would be a mistake not to fully enjoy all things motorcycle. Some of us, most of us, who have to ask how much it costs, will be having just as much fun in a van down by the river. Peace!
Thank you for your kind words Felix Cat. Our trailers aren’t for everyone, but it’s clear that our customers are very happy with them and they have served the needs of many motorcycle travelers.
@@LangoUsDavidLango I have neither a "fine product" nor "customer base", as I have no association with the manufacturer whatsoever. I am merely a potential customer whom has been very thoroughly researching these trailers and appreciates their excellent design, construction and capability. As a rider that wants to park my bike and pitch my tent in places without electrical hook up, water, or toilet and shower facilities, I knew that I had to be fully self contained! My priorities are to have fast set-up, waterproof accommodation that has full standing height, seating and a table, and somewhere I can hang up my wet riding gear. I'd also like the option to be able to use my 12v shower, and to carry sufficient water for drinking and bathing. This rules out using a solo motorcycle as it lacks sufficient weight and volume carrying capacity, and not wanting to design and build a sidecar camper, my choice is limited to a trailer. I'm not wealthy, so purchase price is a factor, as is the shipping charge and Customs Import Duty, VAT (tax) charges, and UK carrier's handling charges. If I appear enthusiastic about this trailer, it's because I've come to appreciate the sheer cleverness of the design and how practical it is, even more so with the awning, add-a-room and other bit's and bob's. I could happily work on my bike in the add-a-room whilst it poured with rain outside! I too like the idea of a campervan, they're fantastic, but the one thing they're not is a solo motorcycle and lightweight camper trailer.
I think some of the bicycle campers are more innovative than these 250pounds is a lot of weight when quarter of that in materials is enough to hold 300pounds.

So if its raining do you have to wait for the canvas to dry before it's folded away?
No, you can fold it wet. You will want to dry it out after a trip so it isn’t stored wet for a long period of time.

Nice, how do you connect the lights in the back? Does the motorcycle have a trailer light connector, like in a truck?
Yes, you just install a trailer plug on the motorcycle and it hooks up like any other trailer would.
