The Gromble showcases some of the absolute best voice acting I have EVER heard in a cartoon and that is no small feat. Gregg Berger has an insane range in just this clip alone yet if I didn’t look it up beforehand I’d have never known that the Gromble was voiced by the same guy who voiced Grimlock in the G1 Transformers cartoon. Aspiring voice actors could spend hours studying this.

The voice actor is AMAZING at changing the emotional charge for the Gromble's voice! He sounds devastated when he asks, "how hard could it be to scare the pants off an eight-year-old?" and then: "THIS!? WAS ALL YOU CAME UP WITH?!?!?"

Ahh shout factory thank you so much for releasing this on dvd i purchased the complete collection.I remember watching this on nickelodeon when i was 8 years old and my fav character was Ickis.watching this again brought the 90's kid in me out of the shadows and making me miss what nickelodeon offered us back then.I have the angry beavers the complete series and this one along with Doug the complete series.I just purchased Rocko's modern life the complete collection a couple of days ago.I cant wait to watch the episodes all over again when it arrives.What would we do without you Shout Factory thank you so much from the deep of my heart for releasing this.

Ironically, the guy who voices Ikis (Charles Adler) is the guy who voiced the red guy on cow and chicken, the guy who voices Gromble is Gregg Berger, he voiced Grimlock in various transformers shows and games.
I think there must have been a lot of influence from Yellow Submarine in this series. The Gromble is so very much like the Blue Meanie, in all the best ways.

For ages I thought Charlie Adler voiced the Gromble- because he voices Ickis here too and Cow and Chicken's villain 'the Red Guy' has a very similar inflection...but he does not. However I wonder given this show came earlier, if this character inspired Charlie enough to give him ideas for later performances he would do like Ed Bighead and Red Guy. ...I also wonder whether this voice actor also did Him of the Powerpuff Girls, cos that's very much what he also sounds like.
Watch it in german, you will love the grumbler I really didn't expect that the english version is so boring in compare to the german version. It's like the Full Metal Jacket - Effect, the scenes with the drill seargent are much better in german (There is nothing better in this world than laughing about an angry shouting german)

I was thinking more along the lines of Monsters University considering they’re undergrad monsters training to be scarers.
It's not plagiarized.
Monsters Inc did it better considering how it was a mockery of the system this show had set up. That and the fact that the emotion was higher.
technically this idea isn't new. Monsters scaring humans for a living has been done all the time in media.
The Real Ghostbusters cartoon series from the 80's had an episode where ghosts/boogiemen scare humans as a career.
