First video that acutally declutters the myriad of candlestick patterns. I am quite overwhelmed as a beginner and your videos are extremely clear and helpful. About the "gravestone doji", as the candlesticks have been invented by rice traders in Japan, they named it this way because Japanese graves have a pillar with the name of the deceased written on it (no cross unless the deceased is a christian).

Thank you so much, I have learnt all the basics from you and I have backtested many candlestick patterns in your Trend Following strategy, I think (Tweezers) is most profitable especially when we have deep pullback.
note: Tweezers is similar to Engulfer but the candles close nearly at the same level or two pinbars together which is rarely happens.
Let me rewire the strategy:
1- Clear trend (Price going on 9 EMA)
2-pullback to (21,38 or 50 EMA)
3- Tweezers candlestick pattern with the direction of the trend.
SL: 2 pips below or above the pattern. Tp1: 1*sl Tp2: 2 or 3*sl
I haven't traded that strategy, i just backtested on gbpusd, eurusd. i don't even have an account yet
i decided to not trade till i will find perfect strategy.
by the way I'm from Iraq and my English is not very well, sorry if i couldn't explained well.

I have been trading for about 6 months now and just about every trade backfires and slaps me in my face. Nearly impossible for me to catch more than a few points . I try to do top down analysis but it doesn't work for me . I say to myself, clearly I'm in the 90% that lose money, so I open a demo account, do my analysis, then take the opposite of what I would normally take and get the same result. I'm starting to feel hopeless, any advice for a struggling trader?
Your problem could be your stop loss is too close or you're watching your trades too much. Place it and walk away. Or you could just give up, trading isn't for everyone.
Don't listen to him, don't give up. Trading takes time(months, even years) to master, even the pros learn everyday. Never the less, if you lose money no matter which side you take, maybe you need to look at how you are managing active trades rather than how you are entering them. My advice, find a mentor . And also, try incorporating the use of oscillators, Bollinger and pivot points into your strategy. And most importantly move to higher TFs(4h or 1D preferably), you'll thank me later .
@@raysmith94 You're correct, I don't lose money every single trade, but my main problem is trying to let my runners run. Very rarely do I catch big moves . Instead they go a few pips in my direction, then go against me if when I try holding them. Also my entries could use a lot of improvement. A mentor would be amazing, but getting one is easier said than done. If it's not too much to ask, do you know any legit ones?
@@hakeem3835 I know of one lady though, she is not a mentor per-se, but she is freakishly good at trading. From what I've gathered she used to work for a proprietary firm till she retired. Met her at one of those conferences, got to know her and we exchanged emails. Since she helped me, I've been making about $1000 bi-weekly. What I'm trying to say is the 5% of traders in the world that are consistently profitable are not on RUclips, they are just random/lowkey people no one even expects . Her name was Jessica Pierson by the way.

I agree. The hammer candle stick is a good indicator to enter a trade, unless the fundamentals say otherwise. Unfortunately, the hammer candle sticks are rare.

The word marubozu means "bald head" or "shaved head" in Japanese, and this is reflected in the candlestick's lack of wicks.
