One Piece is really booming. Regional with over 1000 spots always sold out, really hard to get a spot. Tournament supports are really good, just alternate art cards. Most decks are cheap to buy singles and still very competitive. The game it self is more balanced than other cards game. Going first or second is not a huge huge deal in OP and turn 1 is more balanced than most TCG including the big 3 and Lorcana.
It’s not really fair to compare the two. One Piece is several sets in and has had time to develop its gameplay. Lorcana is just a single set in so it’s best to compare it to One Piece’s first set which was also extremely inaccessible due to distribution issues
One piece is way better and the card arts are much better who wants a mickey mouse card over a boa hancock same with pokemon the cards are more childish one piece cards are bad ass better fpr adult collectors in my opinion.
What kills me on Lorcana is the cost of their packs, and I'm talking about the MSRP. It's too high for what you get IMO. Then the actual gameplay is so simple and linear. One Piece's gameplay so far has been much more dynamic and fun. I love the dual purpose of the Don cards too.
I am actually collecting by the look of the cards :D For play decks I can just use the normal versions. I really like the path OP TCG is going with this. I just hope they don't rack up the booster prices.

Love collecting cards. Quality and art of OP cards is just pure love. Lorcana isnt bad aswell, opening it gives some nostalgic feelings. Overall and considering me being a big One Piece fan, my collection of OP will grow much faster than lorcana 😀 Peace and enjoy the Game !
Funny how you thought lorcana was going to be a huge name. I’m not a doomer, I think it’s a great starting game for kids, but it’s so shallow in terms of game play I put it down quick. Love the art and characters and hope maybe one day they will make it more fun to play for those of us with a tcg background.
I get where you are coming from. My circle is full of married couples with kids so we thought it would be a blast getting to play Lorcana with our kids, but getting priced out was not a good experience and kids not being able to open anything resulted in them going back to Pokemon , and now we are all in One PIece :D
OP player here, best tcg and i dropped pokemon and yugioh completely. One Piece is just way more fun. No more playing 1 turn insane board state in yugioh and pokemon card quality has sucked so much recently and the TCG has been boring so OPTCG has been great for me

Because 1box of japan is equivalent of 2 booster box of japan for english. English version also double hit and if lucky get 3 hit compare to japan set only 1 hit.
if you're interested you should consider buying 1st set soon. local discord are talking that they're stopping print of first set in the near future. Could be speculation but 1st set has always been hard to come by since the beginning

I’ve played all Bandai games and the one piece tcg is the worst. A lot of matchups are entirely determined by a die roll assuming both players play perfectly, especially mirror matches. Collectors inflate the price. & most one piece players in my experience are sweaty and arrogant. Even the mechanics are extremely basic. For example, Vanillas are extremely strong and a bad player will win just because they got good life on yellow. From a gameplay perspective, it’s awful and lucky to have such a good IP.
It's the second one piece card game, the first one was from Carddass. But considering the day and age of tech before, that one did not have much exposure and died quickly along with the other MTG and Yu-Gi-Oh clones

In my opinion, gameplay wise. OPCG is better than Lorcana.

Magic turned to junk in the last 5 or so years, I moved to One Piece and will never touch MtG again. Lorcanna is a nonstarter, I hate Disney lol
