Why would she leave the airport if she's on standby and didn't have an update on when her next flight would be yet? It's a good idea to interview the airline staff who spoke to her about her travel status and when her next flight would be. If she was waiting to confirm her next flight or if they already gave her an idea it would take at least a day. It's looking more like she left airport knowing someone or having some contact of someone there from before. Otherwise she wouldn't have left without getting an update first from travel agents as to when her next flight would be, to wander in the most congested and high traffic city.

My biggest question so far is if the person that typed those text messages was actually trying to help her but didn't want to get in trouble themselves? And then notice how nobody says the man was hurting her, forcing her or degrading her in public. She just looks "not good"?
