Your video was very helpful. I finally got my pattern to work. But I ran into trouble when I ran out of tail thread. You can't just cut and hide the threads in the middle since it's all one core thread I'm making a snowflake and the pattern is an inside ring with seven picots and then an outside ring with thrown and mock rings just like what you made. So you have two of the thrown rings attached to a single picot (one of half of one ring and one half of the next one). There doesn't seem to be a good stopping place. I cut the ball thread, pulled it through the picot, tied at knot and then wove the ends in. Then threaded the needle, made a loop through the same picot and then started my next thrown ring. You don't really notice if you don't look real closely and have no idea what you're looking at anyway. Next time I'll just be sure to have lots of tail thread. But maybe you might have a better suggestion.

Very helpful. I was trying this on my own last night and was tying off at each step and everything got twisted. Now I know how to do it correctly. Don't tie off until last chain.

Angela W looks like Aunt Lydia's crochet cotton size 10 (or maybe size 20 but i bet 10 because it is easier to see on camera) to me

Very good video on a confusing subject. Other videos tell you to make a thrown ring, but they don't explain why or what will happen if you don't. Thank you!

Isn’t this the same as a floating ring?
