    I totally agree about the over cutting of the people talking, so what if there’s a little lag or funny expression, you’re not robots, and perfection doesn’t exist because everyone is different! It’s very dizzing! I found the videos before were much more flowing and I could see and feel the emotion

    The unshaven Capt. Paul at work. Love it.
    Drills with expired flares are great training. Most crew members have never, fired a parachute flare. And are scared by them. Not only are they great for training but are a great fireworks show. Keep the wonderful videos coming.

    Some great storytelling here Steve...im getting a real sense of what its like to be on board while off charter and how you all bond together etc. getting to know the more serious side of things is very interesting. Also, fair play for putting in all those hours to get speaking to crew duting watches that arent during 'typical working hours.'. Nice to see a bit more of some of the characters we wouldnt normally see. I think you bring a real personal touch to your video. I think so anyway...thank you and well done.

    Every single one of you on this crew is a superstar. Every time I study one of your 'no guests' videos, I learn soooo much. It seems there are thousands of things to keep track of, attend to, test, and maintain - and from my viewpoint, you excel. I found the channel from following Nina, who reigns her culinary kingdom like a boss. I think we followers and Loon's owners are very luck to have you, your resourcefulness, and these cinematic logs of your journeys. Fair winds, M/Y Loon.

    Love seeing your passage routine, bemused by the sea sickness, the sea state wasn't much!
    Liked hearing the comment that it is really hard to find a person in the open sea as you can only get glimpses of a poorly distinguishable head bobbing amongst the much bigger chop, white spray and swells. Man overboard must be treated seriously, many lives are lost each year. I wondered if you sent anyone up high to look, a much better perspective.
    I like the idea of children aboard, maybe not so much on long passages, so I wonder how the crew ensure that they are safe 24/7 or is it just down to the parents?

    G’day Captain Clarke! Fellow Aussie here. Always enjoy these videos. Been watching a lot of videos about boats lately (eg Nordhavn, Riviera) and just wanted to ask a quick question. Obviously your boat is much bigger than either of those manufacturers, but does it have stabilisers and/or a gyro to assist with minimising the roll motion? Can you have both or is it one or the other only? Gotta say, I’m surprised you have so many crew who get seasick. Do you ever ask them why they took a job on a boat, just to give them a bit of a hard time? 😜

    • @motoryachtloon
      @motoryachtloon  13 дней назад

      We have great stabilizer fins, but unfortunately, in 12' beam seas, even the best Stabilizers and Gyros won't do much. At the end of the day, we're a small cork bobbing around on a big sea.
      Only a few of the crew were seasick, and they are usually the ones still finding their sea legs. They'll eventually find them.

      Right, it seems that Loon has 'zero speed stabilizers' which sounded like the gyroscopic kind, but turn out to be fins. ruclips.net/video/SMycsaRNSkc/видео.html Does this mean that the crew would have had a rougher trip without the stabilizers?

    • @motoryachtloon
      @motoryachtloon  13 дней назад

      yes, we have Qantum fin stabilizers and they work great. But when we're in 12' of beam seas there isn't much they can do. We would never put guests in this situation but when on delivery with crew only something we just gotta go and the crew need to endure it.

    You really keep the tender pulled behind Looney for 1200 miles?? Wow

    • @motoryachtloon
      @motoryachtloon  13 дней назад +2

      Yep, the HCB just locks in behind and bobs around. Remember that boat is designed to do over 50kts so cruising at 12 is easy for it

    Can you not head over the Atlantic from the BVIs? Curious 🤔

    • @motoryachtloon
      @motoryachtloon  13 дней назад

      of course but all the contractors we use between seasons are in Ft Lauderdale. So we head up to Florida for some work, and to resupply before we cross.

    • @lynhardman1384
      @lynhardman1384 12 дней назад

      That makes sense but for a ship or boat that doesn’t require anything from the States they could just head over it is not a required stop then. I thought it might have been a maritime requirement check in point. 🤔

      Yea, lots of yachts go straight to Europe from the Caribbean and get their work done on that side. We just choose to do it this way as we have trusted contractors we have great relationships with.

    • @motoryachtloon
      @motoryachtloon  13 дней назад +1

      The crew are signed onto the vessel and not technically in Europe so we can stay as long as we need when onboard.

      Yes, All GPSs have this button, but with current and drift, the person might not be in that exact spot when you are able to turn around.

      No, superyachts don't typically cruise areas of piracy; however, we always keep a high security standard.

    Why do you tow your tender so far behind?

    • @motoryachtloon
      @motoryachtloon  13 дней назад

      it's designed to sit that far back so it rides on the back of the 2nd wake from Loon, reducing the stress on the towed Chase boat and the towing gear.
