For some stuff, your transformation level determines how well you'll be able to fight the raider, like a level 3 transform beats a level 2 raider. Generally you never want to fight if your underleveled. The Saiyan pod can help you alot when the raider finds you, aswell some level 1 transforms have solar flare which is good for stalling.
No unless the survivor is level 4 they cannot beat the raider at level 2 unless all survivors jump the raider I have played both, the beta on PC and on ps5. The raider can only be deafeted with the dragon balls giving level 4 or ALL of the survivors are higher level than the raider and jump the raider at the same time. Here's why, the raider has far too much health and the time limit is not long for the survivor transformation level to actually do good damage against the raider. The raider has many abilities of a wider area and can hit multiple people at the same time and if a survivor gets hit one time there transformation loses a lot of time. The raider can interrupt survivor attacks as well. In short survivors cannot defeat the raider in battle except under very very very certain circumstances that are hard to ever reach.

@@Optclzr Ok but they still lose the fight correct, and lose transformation. And not to mention the raiders can wish to have full health and be immortalized after the wish firm the dragon balls. (Which are not hard to obtain) I played raider 5 times and 3 of them I wished to be immortal, and the raider did that against me several times when I played against them. Clashing is also a rare thing as the raider usually interrupts abilities and attacks.
@@wayup1156 Hit and runs. Dunno what crew you rolled with, but a team which transforms and does hit-and-runs on the Raider can defeat them without the whole squad backing them up. Obviously they won't win in a single fight, but they don't expect to win in a single fight.
And the Dragon Balls are only easy to get because of inexperienced Survivors. A smart Survivor drops them in an area for the rest of the squad to find later. Yes, the Raider can get the Dragon Radar and find them, but against higher leveled Survivors: this takes too much time from their hands.
Maybe you kept getting paired up with people who didn't work well together, dunno... But I've also played every session of Breakers: And after reaching level 20, would win against the Raider 4 out of 5 times.
I have been stage 1 and defeated a stage 3 Raider via hit and runs. Ki blasts and specials still do damage against the Raider. Vegeta's Gloves still do damage against a stronger Raider.
In more than 10 games, I've had Lvl 3 Survivors stall Stage 3 Raiders, while Lvl 1s and 2s pop in and out of battles to peck away at their health - and win.
The immortality wish is still difficult to pull off against veteran Survivors - because they can still knock you off the altar and steal the wish. And with even just 2 Survivors: that's doable.
The main issue is poor teamwork, not power differences.

I think the lower transformations are strategy for teaming up against the Raiders rather then heading in there brute force
I think level four is the only chance you can do that but even then you gotta be careful
Lower transformations are for escape and movement options, mostly. Raider right behind you? Fly away and use skills at the same time (kaioken rush, grapple hook, etc). Cliff too high and all other skills are on cooldown? Transform briefly to fly up the cliff, then power down to save energy.
Outside of that, they CAN be used in battle. Ki blasts can peck away at the Raider's health. Unless they wish to be fully healed, the Raider has no way of regenerating health (well, except Cell... I think Cell might get health back from eating players) - so hit and run strategies are extremely effective against them.
Also, transforming to punch a Raider, even if they're stronger: will stun them for a very, very brief moment. This allows things like:
-Raider will drop their Dragon Balls when hit. Pick them up, and RUN.
-Raider will stop their killing-blow animation on allies. Use this to make them stop, use Solar Flare/Trap/Charm, then give the ally a Senzu Bean, then RUN.
-Raider will stop attempting to destroy the time machine. If there's a small sliver of time left on the Super Time Machine, punching them (heck, even a non-transformed civilian can do this) will make them turn away from the STM, and resume the time machine countdown. This can literally win the whole game.

Transformations unless it’s lv4 with a wish will never beat a stage 2 raider, even if it’s 3v1
The Transformations help you beat the Raider but if the Raider has a higher level in their Transformations than you do they are going to beat you so you should run away
Not gonna lie this actually looks really fun lol
All they need is good dev communication and some updates every so often and I can actually see this being a great db game
They need to bring in the english subtitles and voiceovers in this game, include super saiyan 3 goku, cooler as a raider,lord slug as a raider and many others etc and this game would be really good.
@@kendralhunt4296 english dub and subtitles are already in the game, this guy just uses the japanese voice option. also when you summon a character in the lobby, it states their form, which means transformations are confirmed. After the game launch, i'm sure they're slowly add more raiders and more warrior souls as time goes on. This game has huge potential.
I mean, isn't the whole point of it to feel helpless in the face of the Raiders?
It makes sense lore-wise and you were given enough tools to pull the win in the end.
Everything checks out for me in regards to that.
But he didnt win...he used the alt method and only got to that point because his entire team got murdered...
@@MegaMangaking Yeah but his literal plan was to allow his team to get murdered so he could win, which isn't the smartest choice in a game about teamwork.
@@MegaMangaking In a survival game, he used the available means to survive. That's a win. His teammates may have lost, but he didn't. Could call it a draw, but at this early of a stage, with the amount of play time he has, against an asymetrically overpowered opponent... He dodged, out maneuvered and stole the escape. It only bodes well for future games as he comes to terms with strategies and meta.
@@Okamikurainya meh i play these games because of the cooperation aspect. Even in f13 which encouraged late game selfishness you still needed other ppl.
@@MegaMangaking This game really relies on everyone working together, especially early game unfortunately some people get the hero complex and want to fight the raider only to get downed themselves and give the raider less incentive to leave since people will feed them.
Its really fun, the quality and time to join a game is pulling it down, but still a good game
I mean that's what the sessions are for.
The only things for Survivors to really learn are how to hide during Ki searching, what each item does, and how to use the soul system. Yes the raider cam cook you quickly but if your using abilities, items, and natural stealth to your advantage.
How transformations work in this game is based on the level you are every time u collect the orange energy orbs ( idk what they’re called ) u level up

When the raidet finds you, you tranform and run or fight, your problem was using too weak of a tranformation against too strong of an enemie

I'm pretty sure transformations are generally best when you team up. And should mostly be avoided if not with another person who can transform.
I personally haven't played but if there's a open mic thing where u can just talk with anyone then I'd suggest getting them all to cooperate and move in a group with lv 4 transforms fighting cell, lv 3s and 2s protecting the lv 1s and 0s who are searching for keys tho lv 1s have to stall, if there is no open mic then just do it with ur friends
5:00 you can't even blame the game for that one he literally ran into it
I can't wait for people to realise that fighting the boss 1v1 is always a bad idea. I've seen people try to solo fight the boss again and again and again so many times and they never even land a single hit but try the exact same thing the very next time to an equal level of success.
Kind of a tutorial fail tbh. The transformation is presented as a way for you to fight the raider back.

Here's the updated if freiza summons shinron you got three options you can evolve, restore stamina or become immortal.
Here's some poorly sorted tips to give your game a boost:
1. You can only fight the raider if your change power is equal to or above their level, so collect lots of change power. Shooting everything in the environment will help.
2. Equip the Saiyan Pod Remote. Saiyan Pods are the go-to option for escaping the raider once you ran away enough. It's also the best movement option in the entire game.
3. Fighting with a team is very important. The raider is intentionally stronger than change power forms, so you should try to outnumber him if possible.
4. Equip a stun option. Solar flare or that charm thing are both easy ways to buy time to either run or get out the Saiyan Pod.
5. Like you're suspecting, dragon balls are important. Remember to collect as many as you can and keep them away from the raider. Once you collect all 7, you can summon Shenron at one of the 5 altars.
6. Learn the map layout. Every aspect of the game is so much easier if you remember where things are.
7. Change power 4, only obtainable with Shenron, is the only way to fight the raider solo without taking a huge risk. You get 500 HP, all of which doesn't drain, and a huge power boost. Allies are also much more likely to help you out, since this is their ticket to a raider defeat victory.

Don’t get too excited if you hate gacha, cause this game has it and it’s both premium and ingame currency essentially making the game P2W, if it was just cosmetics I wouldn’t care but sadly it’s more than that from my own experience with the closed network test

@@goehowey6510 unfortunately the closed test network ends today and in less than 3hrs I might add, if you were subscribed to the bandi namco email newsletters they would’ve sent you out an email ahead of time saying that you can apply for the closed network test (or you could’ve checked the website) and you might get lucky and get a key, the closed network test only ran during 4 sessions and during specific times for 3 4 hour sessions each yesterday and one 4 hour session for today

I agree: They could have done so much more with the Tutorial... it felt too padded with dialogue, and not enough explanation.
Your first playthroughs are proof of that.
Unless you’re just godly or the raider is slacking, it’s possible to solo the raider
Funny notes from an experienced player who played too much of both betas
1. 1:34 it turns out that they bugged the grapple from last beta and you can't grapple really close to walls (Maybe it's to avoid clipping out of bounds)
2. You had a shield recovery device at 3:55 and never used it. And worse, you stole it from a teammate who could of used it!
3. 5:11 so uhh last beta there WAS no tutorial, just text. Better or worse? Idk, I got most my info from playing and reviewing RUclips videos until I notice the little things
4. Somewhere in between 9:10 Trunks should of told you that the Escape Time Machine was ready, and you could of got an easy win from it instead of running around for a bit longer. I'm very surprised you found a way to win that round
5. 10:20 you were level 2, the Raider was level 3. If you're lower level, the raider counters everything you do and you die a painful death
5. And one big note, most of the game you never used any of your items and you didn't check out the delivery bot. He gives you some great skills like Saiyan Pod and Kaioken. Those are absolutely live savers for you and wins in most situations you lost here. You know how you used the Smokescreen super well? Yeah skills are super important
...Wait I thought you didn't even play last beta, how can they fix something for you that you never played-
When I learnt about this game I instantly went and preordered the special edition for extra stuff

So I played the closed beta and like you, it was my first chance at the game, you are right that the tutorial teaches you mo way to actually deal with the raider, like it never explains the stun lock mechanic, because at some points the survivors are able to stun lock the raider all the way ti death, but in other instances the raider can hyper armour all the survivors attacks and fight back, but nothing explains what criteria you need to be able to get the hyper armour, is it based off transformation levels or something else? Really good game, needs more information about it released though so it's easier to understand, I still haven't found a use for the rocket launcher or galick gun yet, no damage and barely interrupts the raider...Still gonna preorder though xD

And going after the dragon balls is the best strategy use the super time machine as a decoy so you can do more important things
I got my code to DB The Breakers and i preordered it; since im a huge dragon ball z and gt fan. The combat looks fast as heck, even faster than dbz budokai tenkaichi 3 and xenoverse 2's combat. I can't wait to get my copy of this game. I hope they bring back beam struggles, and melee clashes.
Idk....running from a villain will grow stale really fast..no real chance of fighting back..they need to ad a real since of hope when it comes to being spotted..maybe give more defensive teqs to escape or distract. But I'm seeing the villain just wipe out who ever they find 9 times out of 10

I think this game is definitely worth the price. 30$ would be too much and after playing the game I say that $20 is good
Use your capsule corp pod to escape faster and watch it with the dragon balls the raiders can also use them to wish for their final form

If I'm correct the level of the raider and the level of your transformation heavily determine how effective your transformations are.
If you transform into a level 2 Piccolo and the raider is already level 3, you'll do pretty low damage and get mopped. But if you fought the level 3 with a level 3 Piccolo y'all would've fought far more evenly (or as even as it can get since damage for survivor = shorter transformation time)
I see this game having an online life equivalent to DragonBall Z Battle of Z’s. Not very long unfortunately.
Yeah man games like this will get very repetitive and boring quick.
I've noticed you can put a decent fight at lvl 2 if the boss is still lvl 1. If the boss is lvl 2 you should stun them and run. Unless the team is all lvl 2 or higher. Even then it's risky. When the boss is lvl 3 you should focus on running. You can't fight that with out a Hero and teams above lvl 2. At lvl 4 your boned unless you have a hero character stalling so you can run away lol
I play alot of asym games so I'm looking forward to the full version of this.
Game looks fun I hope the iron out some of the wrinkles before release and add more maps, but I'm not holding my breath on that one

The game just won't let me play it keeps giving me an error code and nothing works
so..... first off your mistaking what the radars do their's 3 kinds rescue, power, and dragon rescue finds civis, power is keys, and dragon ya know about also when a raider finds ya ya got 3 options one is run away, 2 is hide (not gonna work well unless ya can blind em and transform into something that fits), and 3 is fight them the 3rd and 1st reasons r why the transformations exist ya have 3 levels of transformations normaly but when ya gather all 7 dragon balls ya can call shenron at an alter (the weird grey bowls with a silvery spike with round holes in the center of it) and if ya do that ya can wish for ultimate power (instant lv4 for hunters and temperary lv4 for the summoning survivor), or give power to allies (+1 lvl to all survivors and generaly a wasted wish) however freeza gets a 3rd option for a wish and that's defacto imunity to damage (probs can be knocked back still)
Get off the vehicles they make too much noise and the raider can see you

That was the big issue in the first beta, imo. The raider can grab one dragon ball and you cant ever get it from them but they can get yours if they kill you. I didnt check if it was still a thing.

@@yorricknohrian7429 yeah since last beta. But it's risky since he can kill you quickly a good strategy to use is call the Sayian pod then transform fight him for the dragon ball, then get the hell out with the dragon ball to the other side of the map

I already know I'm going to be bothered by Kid Buu being the last form of Majin Buu, purely because it's just following the story instead of actually making Buu stronger.

Well, if anything, rather than stronger: they can just make Kid Buu faster... more aggressive, rather than more strength.
They'll probably make him stronger... but there's a chance: Bulma can't roll, she can only stumble forward (because she'd never roll in anime). It's a very, very small detail, but maybe small details like that means they'd put more consideration into characters than most of the games would.

To clarify, the matchmaking screens and hub are very rough. The controls can be super wacky. As Globku said the powers aren't powers they just beat you up. And no clear instructions on what to do. There's a cool game somewhere. Just....
@@jeremyroberts2735 The powers kinda depend on your raider’s level. Also gotta use the items/abilities you have like solar flare. If you want to deal more damage or not die as quickly, I recommend using solar flare or charming pose to stun the raider and get some hits in

This game looks really good and I’ve played the closed test HOWEVER the gacha is what kills it for me, I wouldn’t care if it was purely cosmetic but that’s not the case cause it’s gacha for your transformations and skills and whatnot, it’s definitely changed my mind of buying this game and after a good solid 2hrs hands on it’s definitely not worth it, it essentially makes the game P2W, grinding for ingame currency took a while in the closed test just for a single pull on the gacha but the alternative is just buy premium currency and use it if you don’t want to grind which is horrible
I played about a dozen games and got a one match as raider and won and the rest were survivor matches (one win too), also the fact you can’t choose to play as raider or survivor but choose your “preferred” isn’t guaranteed which is definitely shit cause that’s the same approach they took in Friday the 13th the game and it just doesn’t work well

Btw, the transformations are very... multipurpose in a way. Jump raider with the others or escape with flight or use it to revive others.

@@pokken4877 Thank you. It’s refreshing to see someone here who understands the utility of transformations beyond just trying to attack the raider.
I really hope the game fosters some kind of niche community. It seems like most people don’t/won’t like the game (a lot of people in the comments of this vid for example), but I do. I really like what’s in the game here, how it’s finally something different and not just another fighting game, some competent competition for stuff like DbD. I really hope Dimps keeps going with the game, and works to make it better. Maybe if it does well enough, they’ll implement crossplay.
@@emogamerguy3 I pray for this to happen. This game is probably not gonna become as big as xenoverse... but it's good enough to potentially sprout it's own community. I enjoy it more then DbD due to a both bigger map, more fond options, and plus you get to fight back! (And you can actually see a bit better...)
@@pokken4877 Honestly, it's just not going to do better than Xenoverse. But it doesn't have to. It's a fun enough game by itself, and the cheapest option for the game is gonna be $20. I'm just glad to finally have something different from the usual fighting game spin.

Transformations are useless and I couldn't get into a single match. It never found enough people for me to get into any match. The wait times are so long. Really disappointing.

No they didn't and they still haven't, seriously why are they continuously not listening the the people playing the game that are asking for crossplay?, the game fucking needs it especially now because its deader than a fucking doornail with long association que times after they also started punishing people for being disconnected and game crashes, its a fucking joke and that is sad to see because if they just fixed these bloody problems the game would actually be extremely good.
