- OH I may have found the perfect (for me) Every Day carry fixed blade. Made in the USA Fixed blade. White River really does make some really nice knives. In fact I can see where someone would think they may make the Best Every Day Carry fox blade knife. I put these two side by side, EDC them for at least a month each and well. I now think I would feel lost with out my EDC Fixed blade.
"I am tired of my dollars going to China."- Fueled Iowa.
I see you are a man of high moral standing as well.
I try, I really do want to set an example for my children that every choice does impact life. And support your local business is needed to keep that business there. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I greatly appreciate it.
This is a great real-life review - the ergo topics you cover are the same things I think about. My White River M1 is my favorite fixed blade EDC. Super sharp out of the box Magnacut. I got it to hair-whittling with just a bit of stropping.
I love my White Rivers, they seem designed to be comfy in hand. I have the M1 Backpacker pro and an Ursus 45. Great knives.
I would love to try and Ursus. Although I would probably feel I need to buy it then. Lol thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
Amen on keeping our $$ in the USA. Solid review. Thanks.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Just gifted one of these to myself for my 61st birthday! I also got one of the ulti clips to try out for pocket/waistband carry options. Looks like my next favorite EDC Fixed blade, we'll see if it will replace my current favorite "Kershaw skyline fixed blade in s35vn" I'm also with you on the Dollars going to China BS!!
White River does a fine job . One of the very few companies I know any of their knives are going to be top notch .
Love this video. Gives me some great ideas
Thank you for taking the time to watch. I am glad you got something out of it. That makes me very happy.
Greetings from Germany, really a nice knife.
Thank you. I really like them. Hard to find a much better all around knife.
Love the m1 backpacker pro.
Please share more on that Jerry Fisk! as well as how you sharpen. Please.
I just put a sharpening video up just for you. Lol I will try and put a video on that Jerry Fisk soon.
MY fav fixed blades for edc are the mkc speedgoat(neck carry),the bradford gaurdian,or essee xacado(front scout carry).I also have a bark river mini aura I do in a gaurdian right hand sheath sometimes.
Fixed blades have certain advantages, but I often carry a folder like the we qubitspydee ikuchi,an microtech ultratech, etc, just because they're such cool knives to fidget with
I carry scout at 11 o'clock cross draw. Would be a 1 o'clock for a lefty. I do that with esee 3/4 and Bradford G3, about the same size as the sendero. Never gets in the way of anything
That is cool! It really has surprised me how quickly a fixed blade became part of my EDC. in just a few weeks I do not want to go out of the house without my fixed blade.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I greatly appreciate it.
I'm tired of my dollars going to China too. Hope more people get on board the America Train!
I can't agree more.
Buy usa. Made cars and trucks
That was the reason i bought the authentic hand/USA made SPEW by Alan Folts. Its super nice for in the pocket carry. When i got mine about 4 years or so ago it was only around 130 with a kydex sheath to match.
The M1 i like as a belt knife though. Usually carry it at the 1:00 at a 45° cant.
Its weird i actually prefer to waistline carry small fixed blades when im wearing athletic shorts or pants. Im more of a fan of the in pocket when im wearing a belt.... odd but i guess it is what it is.
I will have to see if I can find the USA made spew. It is funny how we adapt differently to the things we carry. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to comment and watch the video.
If you use an ulti clip on your sheaths you might be able to in pocket carry more comfortably- it will carry more like a pocket knife up on the pocket as opposed to in it.
I like the ulticlip. The only problem with the M1 or the JFP I need to have a custom sheath made. Do you know any good custom sheath guys? The stock ones do not flair open so the Open is just the width of the blade. My skills and trust in myself are low enough I have to take the sheath off to re sheath the knife. The ulti just holds on I have to fiddle too much with it getting it off and on my pocket. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I greatly appreciate it.
@@fuelediowa oh i gotcha with the flair-
I have 4 favorite sheath guys
Kydex- Black Bear Custom Kydex and Yellowhawk Custom Kydex
Leather- Spirit of the bear design and aaron symbrant studios.
I do like wrk&t's no flaired sheaths for how narrow they are, they are SO small, but like you i do prefer flared.
@@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors awesome I will check them out! Thank you so very much!
@@fuelediowa Armatus makes superb kydex for White River blades. They're set up for a multitude of carry options with all manner of clips and straps in inventory as accessories. ... I ordered an Armatus Architect for my Bradford Guardian 3, with a plethora of accessory sheath attachments for some other small fixed blades in my battery. Order hasn't shipped yet. Extremely busy maker. 10-14 day lead time. ... Another Architect for my Spyderco/Perrin Street Beat is on the near horizon.
@@martinmiller1087 thank you so much for watching I greatly appreciate it. I will have to look into some of that and check them out. Thank you for sharing Hope you have a wonderful evening.
I love my spew.. I carry one every day at work..
I need something bigger..
but that's cause I'm going on vacation to yellowstone and would like something bigger 😅
A half inch also makes a very noticable difference in scout carry
Was crkt ever primarily made in the USA? I remember looking at them in 2009 when I got into the military and they were all imported. The WRK&T Jerry Fisk knives are grail status for me!
I was Thinking crkt was mainly USA Made right around 2000. But I am old so my memory may be less than accurate. That Jerry Fisk Pack is a knife worth looking at. At least for me. After using it a fair bit, it will be on a lot of adventures with me I hope lol.
@@fuelediowa maybe back that far it was! Haha i was 10 at the time so 🤷🏻♂️
I'd sure like it if companies that have outsourced MOST of the work outside of the U.S. would at least not name themselves after places, features, rivers etc. in the U.S.
Try an Asher Fixie-basically an m1 backpacker with s90v for around 120
I always want to like the M1 model but that bump behind the choil digs into my finger. Maybe I’ll try the Sendero. I’m not a fan of the nessmuk shape but the handle looks comfy. Good to try something new
I could see that especially in some harder use areas. The sendero is really nice and I take it anytime I am going to do any food or game prep away from the house. Actually half the time, I prefer it over half of our kitchen knives.
@@fuelediowa I think I’ll try one out. Good to try something way outside of my norm sometimes.
@@kpfagerberg get it in burlap and if you don't like it let me know. As long as you are in the US I will consider buying it from you. Lol
@@fuelediowa burlap is the way to go for sure
@@fuelediowaended up getting the M1 in black burlap. Much more comfortable than I remember. Very nice hiking knife
Amen brother. Buy USA
Always my first focus anymore. Keep an Eye out on the Channel I am adding a new series this fall about fixed blade companion knife that works great for hunting.
does the blade on the sendaro touch the table when placed down?
On its side? No it starts off the table. It is not tip heavy at all.
Been carrying the m1 orange g10 I have it on an Armatus sheath with an ultipclip slim 3.3 every day.
was thinking about the armatus sheath, how well does it compare to the oem sheath? the oem shealth is just okay because there is no opening to help catch the point, which requires more attention when sheathing because it's so thin.
That Fisk is a solid skinner. Subtle Nessmuk design. They just need to make the handle longer like the ESEE Ashley Game Knife (which will be the perfect skinner once their S35VN version is released this year).
I just got that Esee AGK with the s35vn and the brown micarta. It is a solid knife. After bit more use and I will be able to give a good comparison.
@@fuelediowa I've picked it up as well, just waiting for hunting season to start.
@@Swearengen1980 It is bow season here in Iowa. It has been so warm. I prefer to let my dear hang for a few days if possible. Best of luck this season. Hope you Fill the freezer.
@@fuelediowa I'm in Florida, there's no hanging dear, a cooler with ice is the best we can do LOL. Good luck to you as well.
@@Swearengen1980 ya that would be another challenge. Skin and quarter fast lol.
Does that burlap micarta have some grip to it?
I prefer the G10 for the grip. I tried the burlap but it was smooth. Nicely done though
I'm tired of china too copying without respect
I'm Italian living in Italy btw and i buyed an Izula 2 directly from a famous US store
i agree, bring back us made stuff
cheers
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I so wish to visit Italy some day. I grown up riding Moto Guzzi motorcycle my whole life. I currently and probably will for ever own my California EV. My eldest daughter is named Bella in the USA it loses a bit of its meaning. But those who know, they know. Lol sorry for carrying on, my passion about Italy and my desire to visit is deep. I do believe we have to support our local economics as well as those we want to prosper. I hope to see more of your input. Thank you and have an amazing day!
I think fixed blades are needed but not as an every day carry for most people.
I think a 3" fixed blade is the best EDC for everybody unless you live in the sticks amd need a bigger blade.
@@bobjohnson1633 facts white river m1 pro is my edc and love it. It’s dependable durable and fast deployment.
Buy USA.
As much as I can. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I greatly appreciate it.
