Awesome video, you have got me so hook on crappie it is crazy! Keep posting and I'll keep watching. I to will be posting crappie videos in the near future.
Looks like you had a great day and Mark is a great teacher. Now you've got more weapons in your arsenal when the fishing gets tough. I've never heard of hybrid crappie though. I'll have to check on that. Keep em coming Matt. Your videos are awesome.
When the summer heat hits up here in Mn I troll for crappie alot. Were only allowed 1 rod per angler on the lakes and 2 in the rivers. I do very well even in the suburban lakes north of St. Paul. Some days are big slabs and other days produce 60-70 fish in the 8 to 10 inch range. I definitely prefer the 12 to 14 inchers. Were only allowed to keep 10 fish. So when it's all dialed in good, I get my limits of big fish in few hours.
@@MrDenis1227 I believe 3 pound has it right. From my understanding it's 3 rods "trolling" unless "waterway specific rules" say different. If you go on the DNR site download the rules and do a search of the waterway you plan on fishing. It will have the rules specific to that body of water (this is what I always do) If a rod limit is not listed for that body of water it defaults to the states' general rules. The local bait shop can usually answer these types of questions too. Happy Fishing!
SEEMS TO BE A LOT MORE BEING COUGH ON YOUR SIDE OF THE BOAT. SO I AM THINKING YOU SHOULD BE FISHING 30 -40 CLOSER TO THE BANK SO MARK CAN GET A FEW AS WELL . MUST BE A LITTLE DROP OFF THERE.
Love cranking for crappies
What was your trolling speed?
Damn that was cool, fishing hard doing what you do best👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

awesome
Draging 12 treble hooks should be a good chance of hookup.
Cool Video. Looks like a little more work than the minnow rig. Good to see some guest appearances from Mr. Bass and Mr Catfish!

What kind of rod holders do you use for trolling?
Matt Fuller drift master. They have a new trolling system. Not sure name
I knew this video was in the works and was looking forward to it. Hopefully will see some more like this in the future. Thanks.

Mark is my grandpa
That Mark is pretty good! He ain’t skeert!
Matt can I ask how the heck you turn the boat with all those lines in the water? Seriously I would have a mess on my hands!
rhinohd slow and wide. 👍
@@3poundCrappiefishing I bet LOL
Kind of the proverbial fire drill. I reckon I will stay on brushpiles (smile).
yes a bit different. :)
How are you getting by with 6 rods? Thought it was a 2 rod per person.
Trolling In Illinois allows for three rods per person.
rhinohd I need to check into that. Everywhere I read states 2 pole per person 2 hook limit.
its not a state thing, each lake has different limits. For example Crab Orchard is two poles per man, all other lakes in region are 3 Poles

Loved it!! Haven't kept up w the times...all my crank baits are stored horizontal. Makes since to hang 'em like spin baits!
LiveScope works well with this environment also. Point it forward and determine what depth they are at then adjust your rig.
Using 2D also helps
Is mark crankin a spinnin reel upside down?
Michael Hutchison they were bait casters on my side of the boat
