The Magic Square designer is definitely one of the most talented third party designers out there, and you are definitely one of the best TF reviewers, especially in Legends scale. I honestly prefer this new art direction with the darker background. And separate transformation vids is a GREAT idea.

holy crap!! I thought NA ironhide was amazing. It's crazy to imagine what they will be in another 3 years. Transforming themselves??? THis is such a nice surprise from MS, an ambush release. Disappointed I missed the premiere! Another great video. The dynamic camera & focus work at 4:42 was just so nice. I love these bots that can get into a kneeling hero pose. I've got my MS nemesis permanently in a hero pose on my desk.
Morning, Mr. Bawk. MS prioritize articulation over sculpt in most cases, and I think it's worth the trade, these tiny little guys are just so much fun with that superb articulations.

I bought that Trailbreaker since it was on sale, didn't like it at the beginning, but it grew on me, so I put him in the comparison instead of the black version.
After all these years, we found the perfect Ironhide toy! 😍😍 As for his vintage Hasbro variant robot mode, his windshield is his actual face. 😆 Telebugs style.

I thought Optimus was already the most complex Transformer from these guys And they whip out _this_ dude Like bloody hell it _had_ to be literal hell to design all the parts to fit together so nicely between robot and vehicle modes, and still be super faithful to the original designs Also the transformation part when unwrapping the chest into roof reminded me of cinnamon rolls for some reason lol
While I’m more of a Newage guy, I really like the proportions of this MS Ironhide. The transformation looks complex, but still fun. I just can’t get past the materials and semi-crappy paint. But otherwise, this thing looks to be a knockout. Thanks for making the video.
Excellent review as always in depth and the arms articulation are simply phenomenal. Magic square new age nail the cartoon comic looks these are folks that watch know their transformers

Man, this Ironhide is amazing, I love the bot mode (ankle articulation could have been better though). The alt mode is ok, a bit too long. all the accessories are a really nice touch, especially the extra hands and face. ShowZ, where's the pre order! :-D
His leg goes back even! Hope this is enough for fans hoping to get a little more back movement than hound and jazz. I love these new hip engineering designs!
Awesome work! I love it, but I'm wondering if I should wait to see if Ironhide and Ratchet will get done by Mech Fans Toys and give them the subtle size increase you mention. I like what MFT does for the MS molds they KO, but the only thing that feels better in the originals are the joints, at least with the bots I've bought so far, not bad just a little better. Anyway, thanks for another great video.
Thanks, Steve! Never handled MFT figures, not sure if they could copy the increasingly sophisticated structures on these little figures. But this Ironhide surely is a bit shorter than he's supposed to be.
I'm not a big fan of the G1 artstyle, I don't find it appealing and I don't particularly like the MP line. However, this artstyle is pretty much perfect for legends scale figures, I can't help but think it looks hella cute and I wouldn't mind having a bunch of these little guys btw, your videos are pretty good, can't wait for the premier ;)

Ironhide wasn't the second in command. That was Jazz during the first two seasons, and later Ultra Magnus. Ironhide is just one of Prime's oldest compatriots, so he relies heavily on his advice.

Considering he's currently the cheapest, I think I'll make this my first MS figure. I keep saying their stuff looks utterly delightful, regardless of how much or little I care about show accuracy, as fiddle toys. Edit: Just got the figure today, transformed it a few times, posed it around, I think I'm in love. It's so much fun to mess with.
My first was Optimus Prime 2.0 and the plastic feels very cheap compared to my NewAge Skyfire. However, I liked it enough to pre-order their version of Skyfire and I also got the metallic version of Megatron. Can't wait to compare the two Skyfire side by side. It's going to be hard to beat the NewAge Skyfire as that's pretty much perfect.
@@saysoun752 I have Light of Victory and while the plastic initially feels cheap, it's also borderline indestructible. So I think it's a fair trade, hah! I don't have any NewAge figures yet, as their prices seem kind of obscene. But I hear no end of praise for their stuff, so hey.
Concerning Ironhide being a little too short, Jazz and Hound are larger than Prowl and Hoist scale-wise, and Grapple and Inferno are too small overall. The only downfall to MS is this uneven scale.
I guess it was a balance of the sizes for the bot and the alt mode, since everybody knows the scale chart, but only designers know how to make the figure scale relatively okay in both modes properly.
Looks as atrocious as their new Jazz figure, which I bought because I love their new Optimus so much. I will never buy another MS figure after that Jazz figure. You could get a better TF knockoff at the Dollar Store. Lastly, I am so sick of that nauseating metallic blue paint for windows. NA uses it as well. If you’re going to paint the windows, they should be cartoon blue, like the MS Optimus.

This figure is so COOL, that transformation looks super complex, but it looks like it’s worth it! Just hope it holds up in the future.

Yeah.. it is always very difficult to refer back to the cartoon, for it changes all the time.

Wow, the MP Ironhide's proportions look weird. He's so lanky. The MS version is a little squat, but I still prefer the look of it.
Ironhide seems to be a difficult character to design, but this Ironhide does show some progress.
