All three parts of this have been an utter delight, thank you! I can't remember the last time I saw interviews in which both interviewer and interviewee did such a perfect job of maintaining a civilised and enlightening conversation. In these days of "shouty" TV, it's most refreshing. Arthur's story was only partly familiar to me, and I've discovered a lot of things about him that I never knew, and which explain the way I feel when I hear his music. You can always tell when music has been created with genuine love and soul, and Arthur has these in plentiful supply. I saw him perform three times, two of them since 2005 if I recall correctly, and was struck by how much energy was involved. It's wonderful that he's been able to continue singing and bringing pleasure to so many despite his advancing years.
Wonderful man. Saw him at a free concert in Bethnal Green, 1969 or 1970. Took all his clothes off and was chased round the stage by the police who bundled him into a van. Vincent Crane provided the background music to this visual entertainment. So pleased to see Arthur has settled down.
The meditation at the end is phenomenal! Thanks so much Arthur, for the spiritual tune up!
