Your insights into ticket purchases, transportation, and scams are so valuable. Thanks for sharing these practical tips-this will definitely help make any visit to Istanbul stress-free! 💚
I dont agree, its not disappointing. Hagia Sophia is beautiful. However, personally, I think that visiting a place of woreship should never cost money. So even though I think thats its worth visiting, I cringe at paying an entry fee.
Thank you for your nice tips. I am going to visit Istanbul in late November with my boyfriend and we are looking forward to our trip. A nice hotel suggestions from own experience will be much appreciated 😊. Thank you.
Bery, love ❤ your vlogs and I’ve actually booked a tour with your reminder tours website for October 23. We are doing a custom tour. Looking forward to visiting Türkiye next week! 🥰
Istanbul became more expensive than other European countries. Why would a tourist pay 50usd for Hagia Sophina or topkapi palace!!! Even Louvre entry fee is way less than that!!!!
Hello Bery, it is not by the chance the restaurant where you sitting in 11:40 this one - Kösk Kebap very near to entrance to Topkapi palace? 😊 That garden looks familiar for me. Thank. Martin
@@BeryIstanbulTips 😍 yeeees!!! We visited this one in June and it was great! So yummy and staff were great as well. We used your tips, for example for visiting Islands and our stay in IST was magical. Greetings from Czech republic. M.
We are in Istanbul now and it is incredibly expensive. We went to the Asian side today and donar prices were half Taksim area. We paid $18 for a Turkish bath & scrub. Where we went last year by Taksim wanted over $100. Beer costs more than my watering hole in Texas.
I've been in Istanbul for 8 days last summer and then I went by rented car from Bodrum to Antalya, it was simply amazing, but nowadays, due to the inflation, Turkey is extremely expensive. The price of the museum's tickets, in particular, is insane. The topkapi, for example costs more than double than the Galleria degli Uffici of Florence that is one of the most important museums in the world. Even entering Hagia Sofia costs more than Galleria degli Uffizi, it doesn't make any sense. Turkey is beautiful but I would not reccomend it in this period, it's too expensive. Even a beer or a coffee are more expensive than here in Italy.
I have returned from my second to Türkiye 10 days ago. I love it there, and I love Istanbul. However, I must say that eating in Istanbul has become a bit of a nuisance, in the touristy areas. We stay near Sirkeci train station and Eminönu pier, just opposite Gülhane Park. We find this location fantastic. But the restaurants in this area are now mostly really agressive (the touts, not the restaurants). We are well travelled and can handle it and most experiences we had were fine. But the touts infront of most of the restaurants can be so annoying, that it spoils your experience. On the last evening of our trip, we had a nice meal in one of those restaurants. The meal was good but rather expensive. However: once we were customers of the restaurant, we became almost invisible to the staff. We had to beg for any kind of service (even for paying the bill) and had to wait for ages, even though their where almost no other customers. On the same time: 3 staff members tried to get new customers into the restaurant, in a very disturbing way. It was not a good way for me, to finish this trip to Türkiye.

In Istanbul right now and hate how expensive and how hard it is to find official website and price of museums. Also got scammed into booking an Airbnb that's in way worse condition than advertised. I booked a well reviewed apartment but host said a few days are double booked so let him move me to an even more expensive apartment he have. Well, the shower don't even have a door, just broken wheels jammed on the track😡
Is not difficult to find updated prices of museums IF you have been following me on my social media or watched some of our previous videos where I have mentioned all of that. Here is a reel I made for my Instagram where I shared the updated fees for the most popular attractions in Istanbul: instagram.com/reel/C_aYGO0un2r/?igsh=cWV2dTd3am9sZGsw And about the airbnb, Im so sorry for that! Honestly booking an airbnb in Istanbul is no longer a good idea, many scams going on, I always suggest instead booking directly with hotel from platforms like booking or hotels.com, that’s the safest choice now.
I've taken a taxi in Istanbul five times, and each time the meter wasn't working, and I was charged a fixed price. They charged me a minimum of 400 lira, and 1000 lira from Galata to Hagia Sophia. They say it's because of traffic and that the meter isn't profitable for them. What do you think? It seems like it's the same with every taxi here.
The scammers are the most annoying creatures you'll ever encounter in this city, those perfume sellers you can embarras them by knowing a fee turkish phrases lol.

Taxis I heard are notorious in Turkey. Thanks for sharing your experience. This will help others to watch out for such scams. I for one will make sure I record a video while negotiating taxi fare and making payment. A bit inconvenient but gives you the peace of mind for having a proof if the driver tries to scam you.
Perfect timing to post this video as I am traveling to Istanbul in a few weeks. I remember as a Muslim, I heard entrance to Hagia Sophia was free. Is that still the case?
Hi! Yes! Muslims can enter through the prayer gate for free but if you also want to visit the Byzantine mosaic gallery on the second floor, then you have to pay 25€ just as all of us

€25 to go inside Hagia Sophia is a complete waste of money. Massively disappointing.

I disagree, it is a very historic building and one that means a lot to Istanbul. We enjoyed our time there

I've already watched your video before, but it's inevitable-all the taxis here are the same. 2200 lira from istanbul airport to hagia sophia also.
Hi Bery.. may I know how much do we need to pay for Balik ekmet@fish sandwich for OCTOBER 2024 ?
Very informative
Glad you think so!

Yes! You can find all the companies once you exit the area where you pick up your luggage.

Normal. Use Uber to hail a cab and the price is fixed in a narrow range.
