It is sad to realize that a well-known diva like her had to lead such a tragic life. I wish she had gained her confidence when she gave her lessons of Master Class at the Juilliard School in the early 70s.

I've watched this many times but I just noticed near the end of the aria, her brooch fell off from her gown and you can hear the drop of the brooch on the stage floor. This doesn't interrupt her performance at all and audience hardly notice.
This is one of her best concerts, and she's in very good voice, but even here you can hear the defects in her voice that overpowered her singing later on, such as 3.33 off-key, 9.45, 10.02 wobbling. I'm not a huge Callas fan, but I can appreciate her gifts in her singing from this period.

No. Many of the biggest arias of an opera have a 1 to 4 minute intro of just the instruments, no vocals.
