Paradise, Elysium (or Abraham's bosom) is a compartment of Hades or "Hell." It's the good place, as opposed to the place of torment.

Your statement is wrong in the context of the Scriptures. Context includes verses, chapters, books, and the whole Scriptures. Context also includes the writers' culture and his subject. In context of the Scriptures do not truly indicate the Jesus was in Hell.

No, the Greek text DOES say he would be in paradise that day. What you're missing is that 1 Peter 4:6, and Ephesians 4:9, merely says that Christ went and preached the Gospel to those in the realm of the dead, it doesn't say it took three days to accomplish that task, likely took about 15 minutes, maybe a half hour if he wanted to give them a longer explanation. Jesus had plenty of time to greet that man in paradise before the resurrection. Perhaps he even went to paradise first, and then gave the damned the good news just prior to the resurrection.

Yes Sir...I knew the answer. Jesus is in all places at all times. He is God. Totally Human yet Totally God.before His incarnation He appeared to others such as Abraham before He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. The Trinity. Father Son and Spirit Guide. Three persons One God each Totally God ...far beyond our human comprehension. Thank-you for the reminder. Jesus is with you right now where you are and with me where I am. But There is a place that the manifestation of His glory is right now in His resurrected body. And that place would be as mentioned in other videos. The Heaven Castle Ship ....That's going to be a beautiful day to behold Him in all His glory. Till then He's here but we live by faith not sight....Thank-you Mike

What book is that? My thought. All points in space and time are connected. I'm bothered why the Gospel of Thomas isn't recognized more? It states If you think heaven is in the sky the birds will get there before you. If you think heaven is in the sea the fish will get there before you. Rather heaven is everywhere and all around.
So with that said I think the common denominator is forgiveness. The theives were asking forgiveness. Jesus acknowledged and gave it. Did the theives unspoken in that moment forgive who may have done them wrong? We're all one right?
Jesus doesn't consider his status greater than his love for us. The theives didn't have to. Nor did Jesus or us have to forgive. But everyone took on the hard task.
I'm bothered how its sold that heaven is attainable but for now out of reach. All we have to do is breath the air be thankful for whats around us and forgive.

And the answer is: in the day when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men are bent, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those who look through the windows are dimmed, and the doors on the street are shut--when the sound of the grinding is low, and one rises up at the sound of a bird, and all the daughters of song are brought low-- they are afraid also of what is high, and terrors are in the way; the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags itself along, and desire fails,
because man is going to his eternal home, and the mourners go about the streets-- before the silver cord is snapped, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is shattered at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern, and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

The "hell" he was talking about was Sheol/ Hades. The "death" all men died in Adam before the advent of Christ.
Peter said he preached to the spirits in prison.
When he returned in judgment death and hades (same thing) were cast into the lake of fire.
All who believe now enter heaven at their physical death.
Those who do not believe, enter the lake of fire.
So far, that's what I got from the scriptures.

Adam died "in that day." Adam lived 930 ish years.
God said "one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Jesus said, "...today, you will be with me in paradise."
Did that principle apply there as well. The second resurrection is AFTER Christ thousand year reign.
But the thief's resurrection would take longer than the 1000 year rule. He died long before we ever showed up.
    Enjoy!

I think this is bogus. Why would Jesus need to clarify that it is still today? Would the thief think he said it yesterday or in November 1493? This day you will be with me in Paradise means JUST THAT, & Paradise is where their souls went. It is a blessed region of comfort and hope in Hades, the abode of all the dead, rather poorly or confusedly (but not altogether inaccurately) translated "Hell."

    • @Tenonizer
      @Tenonizer  8 месяцев назад

@medicalmisinformation, Abraham's Bosom no longer exists, after Jesus was raised from the dead, in the midst of hell, he, Jesus, took all of those who were in that place of protection to his Father's house. At the time when the one thief was in the place of protection (Abraham's Bosom) he could look across the pit into hell and see Jesus there on the other side of the pit in hell. It does make a difference, Jesus paid the ultimate price to obtain our salvation, he took the punishment we deserved upon himself. Next, after 3 days and 3 nights, because he had never broken covenant with his Father, God was able to raise him from the dead, right in the midst of hell itself.

How could the thief be with Jesus in paradise that day?
    Because Jesus IS God.
Just because Jesus was going to spend three days and three nights in the heart of the earth did NOT mean He GOD would not be where he always was.
    John 1:1-3, 14 KJV
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

No, the thief who identified Jesus as Messiah was among those prophetically identified in Psalm 68:18 "Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell", those in Abraham's bosom (the place of protection) whom Jesus brought to his Father's house after he (Jesus) became the first begotten from the dead. Directly after Jesus became the first begotten from the dead, he took all of those in that place of protection (Abraham's bosom) to his Father's house, thief included.

Jesus would not contradict scripture concerning judgment. Did Jesus say "I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise! or did he say "I tell you today, you shall be with me in paradise!" For One interpretation Jesus would verify judgment which rests on scripture as found in Revelation 20:4-6 or Revelation 20:11-15 and as found in Hebrews 9:27 or Jesus would do something special for the other and the thief now converted would go that day. Jesus did not re-write scripture. Jesus promised the guy when Jesus entered paradise the man would be with him. When Jesus takes up his earthly throne it will not be paradise for he will rule with a rod of iron. The rod of iron is for administering judgment or correction which is not any kind of paradise we have learned of. Paradise is a place supposedly in complete harmony. So paradise will be in the Fathers kingdom where all judgment has been administered for all and in the final kingdom. In Christs reign the devil will finally be cast into the lake of fire never to emerge. At the end of Christs reign is the final judgment where even those whose names were in the book of life but were summarily blotted out will be cast into the lake of fire as well. Christ’s kingdom on earth is not paradise. During Jesus millennium reign people will be born and die and some will die as wicked people (Isaiah 65:17-20). That is not a full spectrum of what is called paradise. Christ gave his word that when he entered paradise the converted thief would be with him. The converted thief will remain in his grave just like all who have yet to be judged on the "last day" John 6:39-40 & 54, John 11:24 and John 12:48.

Jesus took a detour to stop by paradise to let the righteous dead know he had won the victory. He then crossed over the gulf and proceeded on to hell to be captive for 3 days. Then he spoiled principalities and powers and made a show of them openly. Taking back the keys of death and he'll from Satan. Then he left hell in triumphing over it and opened paradise to free the captives to go into the newly opened heaven. Some of them stopped by Jerusalem and were seen as recorded in Matt.27. But regarding your statement about 2 things not occupying the same space, that only applies in the physical realm. In the spirit realm there is no limit to the number of spirits that can overlay each other and occupy the same space. That is why a legion of demons could all be in the demonic at the same time.

Is Jesus on His Father's Throne right now and also in Hell? I believe He is in His resurrected body on The Father's Throne dispensing all His Love Kindness and Mercy...and many more Grace's to His children with Him ....and He is also in Hell but not in His glory suit but in Spirit dispensing Wrath and judgements to the children of the devil for all eternity. Those that rejected Him. They should not fear the devil in Hell but God. It will be a fearful thing to fall into the hands of Jesus in His anger.

I think Jesus went to hell but not to suffer for us. After all, he already suffered and died and said it is finished.
Hell, pre-Christ was far all and had a place for good and evil people. The good were waiting for the atonement of the Lord. Today, hell is only for the evil because now being justified, the believers can go to heaven. In Revelation believers are talking in heaven to God.
So the modern interpretation of hell that it is a place of only torment is true now, but was it? Scriptures?
Luke 16:22. Do a study on hell, the pit, and the grave some time. It’s mostly bad but there are some instances where good people are waiting there. When Saul called UP Samuel from the ground, where did he come from? There WAS a paradise in hell before Christ, now hell is only for the evil and are awaiting judgment. There is also a lowest hell for the worst. Ps 86:13
