The VW Golf MK5 R32 Is A Hidden Gem

My father transformed his VW Golf MK5 R32 into a serious monster. The chrome has been completely removed and blackened, and the car is now optimized for the Nürburgring too. It features a Brembo Z18 big brake kit from the Porsche Cayenne (Turbo S), a Forge Motorsport carbon fiber air intake, fully adjustable KW DDC suspension with coilovers, real carbon fiber mirror caps, an Alcantara steering wheel and shift knob with a retuned DSG gearbox, a strut bar in the trunk, and a very loud Milltek non-resonated exhaust that improves the VR6 engine sound.

Big love from Australia, I have a 5 door r32 which is stock, always brings a smile to my face driving it and unlike alot of modern rocket hatches you can enjoy the emotive experience of the drive and the visceral experience without crazy speeds.

My R32 would sometimes also not start and it's the alarm horn that is broken and begun to drain the battery slowly. It's located under the front wheel well. You just need to remove that and your good again

Is it just the ignition barrel locking up? Very common in Mk5. Replace it before it completely jams. Don't need to re-key or anything too complicated.

Steering lock can cause the problem where the car won’t start. Stops you from turning the wheel or the key turning in the ignition. Had it before with my Audi.

Stuur stond in stuurslot. Daardoor kan je de sleutel ook niet draaien. Sleutel in contact stuur beetje proberen te draaien (heen en weer) en voelen of de sleutel stuurslot ontgrendeld 😅

if u let the radio or some light to long on, it sucks the batterie under 11.5 v and when the batterie doesnt want to start, thats normal on all golf 5s

happened to my r32 once idk why but when I put my foot on the clutch take it out of gear tried starting it it started got it warmed up then got driving
