Mahabharata Unravelled: Raj Dharma, Matsyanyaya, Decolonisation of Minds |DU Lit. Fest|

- "Mahabharata" the longest epic ever written, is a treasure trove of knowledge, that is still relevant, and needs to be retold over and over. While the first book "Mahabharata Unravelled" written by Ami Ganatra, was aimed to set the narrative straight about the Mahabharat and its characters, the second book focuses on the profound discourses present in the Mahabharat, particularly the conversation between Yudhishthir and Bishma on Rajdharma. But why is it relevant? Decolonization of our mind is essential in terms of the various aspects of governance, administration, justice, and security. As a Dharmic state, our central challenge is to overcome the 'Matsyanyaya', which is a law of the jungle scenario that arises without the presence of Dharma in governance and economics.
About The Speakers:
Ami Ganatra: She is a Computer Science Engineer and IIM Ahmedabad graduate with 15+ years of management experience including Bain & Company. J. Sai Deepak: is an engineer-turned-litigator in civil commercial and constitutional matters, practising as an arguing counsel primarily before the Supreme Court of India and the High Court of Delhi, and has been part of several landmark cases, such as the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple case. He is the author of the bestselling first book of the Bharat Trilogy, India That Is Bharat: Coloniality, Civilisation, Constitution.
Sanjeev Sanyal: He is the Principal Economic Advisor to The Government of India, Former Deutsche Bank MD, urban theorist, environmentalist, and author, known for his multifaceted contributions. Sanyal has emerged as a prominent thinker and policy advocate. He has represented India in many international forums, including as co-chair of the Framework Working Group of G20 for five years. Another thought provoking conversation.
We need to decolonize our minds, it's the utmost priority because Macaulay is still winning on us and many are brain fogged to not see what's happening.

This type of effort must be continued for a log period of time so that debate starts.
Awesome session! All my favorites whom I follow!
More and more discussions create awareness about our past in a correct way,. Not allowing people criticising wrongly and help to mobilize decolonise our minds
Decolonising should start by removing foreign invented bicycles , motor vehicles , trains planes etc.

Sai Deepak sir, u r very true about NTR. unfortunately we telugites learnt sri Mahabharata n sri ramayana from movies and not by reading or leaning from the original vyasa bharata and valmiki ramayana😢
Amazing talk by sanyal sir
Laws are human creations and justice is supreme and divine. Laws are at a lower level for human day to day behavior but justice is the ultimate. So well shown by Bhagavaan Krishna.
Brilliant conversations
Thanking you @sangam talk
brilliant conversation
Brilliant discourse!
Thank you for such vital informations.
Great job done by sangam🕉️🕉️🙏🙏🙏
Very good information about recent developments, well explained and narration. 🙏.
I love how the discourse for Indian Decolonisation is done in English.
Bharat has n number of languages, some even changing every couple of kilometers. I think it's fine communicating in a language which can cater the maximum minds. At the end of the day it's just a medium.
@abhinandaup = If you're willing to finance, volunteer, translate & transliterate all such intellectual discourses into every Bharatiya Bhasha, I am sure the guests will not have any issue with it. Nor do we.🕉
Very high IQ comment there😂😂😂. All that wisdom and you have brought it down to mere English language rather than mindset. Pathetic
then in which language would they have to speak in?? not everyone knows Hindi in India
Excellent arguments 🙏 🙏 🙏
If I remember correctly, there are 72 shlokas on lecture by Bheeshma on Raj Dharma to Yudhishthir.
I have Vyasa Mahabharata from my grandfather's library, and I'm going to read it again.

Thanks. Excellent
Shri Shathavadani Ganesh would have been a great addition to this debate. His exhaustive discourse about mahabharata is pure gold. You can find them in youtube.
Superb, absolutely logical, full of knowledge discussion.
Great efforts🙏
Thanks a lot
Great and lowly are RELATIVE. 😉
Incidentally, Slave, are you VEGAN? 🌱
Great Book.. I read it half...still reading..
Brilliant pannel
Excellent talk!
I think it's very important to finally decide what actually was Chanakya's timeline... From Kota Venkatachelam ji to Vedveer Arya sir to Nilesh Oak sir showed ample evidence and concluded that Mauryan empire was from a much earlier time (possibly 16th century BCE)...
Even Sanjeev Sanyal sir was present in some of the seminars of Vedveer Arya sir...
That time line is not correct .
Ashoka mentions Antiochus in his rock edict and sends his daughter and son to srilanka which can not be earlier than 600 BCE !
Last line was what we all have to follow read every thing you have opinion of.
Awesome....
Wonderful 👏👏👏👌🙏

One thing Sanjeeb Sanyal got wrong was calling Bali as Animal, he was a Vaanar which means Forest Dwelling People they might have a little different DNA to then human but certainly they were not Animals
Human beings are also a species of animals
He's was an animal
In the context of the killing of Vali, at the moment, Ram killed Vali, he was an animal since Ram mentioned that all the acts Vali perpetrated was that of an animal. For eg. He acted wrongly with Sugreeva's wife. Not following certain principles is what made him an animal in the acts he did. But in general even Valmiki mentioned that they were not animals but forest dwelling people. Revisit the shlokas were Ram explains why he killed Vali the way he did. I think that is why Sanjeev sir mentioned that he was an animal.
