This is just a case of "Love by action and not words" meaning that he is protecting her obsessively since she is the only thing from his childhood. He does love her, but he has to kill Goblins in order to keep her safe from them. She is pure and pure hearted, and that is his drive. Yes, he is exacting revenge for what happened to his sister, but he is also devoted to protecting "Cow Girl" from the Goblins. Should something happen to her, he would be beyond repair. Yeah...and her love is also kind of mixed with her own guilt toward him (the guilt of leaving him behind and the last time they were talking with each other in the past wasn't a good memory (they were fighting)), that why the anime and the manga sure really did a good job showing that hidden mixed up love/feeling. Her worry is really over proportion and how she act when he is gone showed that she is ready to loath herself even more if he gone... Her guilt is also stopping her from completely believing in him that he will be alright... She loved him... But deep down she also blamed herself by making him like this (a broken man) while in reality its not her fault... And GS also didnt blame her... What i mean is... The moment she met him again and surprised that he is still alive(GS year one) that the time when she started to blame herself for what happened to him and what he has become, you could see it with her over "affection" and care toward him, yes she love him that a fact.. but she also feel guilty that why her action of caring him is also an action to find herself redemption for her own "guilt"/"sin" toward him.

In a way, this is a one-sided love, just not in the usual way. Goblin Slayer in the end is obsessed with killing goblins. It's what he believes he has to do in order to protect people, especially people he cares about like Cow Girl. This will always come first above everything else, not over someone's life, but feelings he has no problem putting aside.
For me, that would make this shows better. It's already good but some sacrificial needed to make the story more alive, imo. It can be cow girl, guild girl, elf or all of them. I just don't want Goblin Slayer turns into garbage like Rising shield hero.
It’s not one sided love. He knows that as long as goblins are around, she will NEVER be safe from them. He doesn’t want her to suffer the same fate as his sister did.
The only thing one-sided is his the ability to reciprocate normally. Because it's so blatantly obvious that he loves her more than anything and anyone else. She is his one major tether to the humanity he still has, even as he gains more through his companions and the rest of the guild. And while it frustrates her that he can't cleanly reciprocate, she's not so selfish that she doesn't understand why he's too broken to do so, only wishing that he slowly heals one day. It's enough for her that he, broken as he is, still unhesitatingly cares for her. There's less focus on them being lovers and more family, which, contrary to what most people think, is hardly a friendzone. After all, isn't that ultimately why we form such romantic bonds with others in the first place?
She gonna be a great wife and he gonna be a great husband!! They will have 3 kids one will be a wizard one will work for the royals and one will follow the father footstep
Their conversations always show she knows him better than anyone else, he's been around her without his armor so much she didn't realize it was a big deal til she saw the reactions of others. He can talk to her about what he's feeling about their past. It would be awesome if we get a flashback of him talking to his sister about how he should always protect girls, especially Cow Girl because he wanted to marry her.
Nah they both love each other. She is just bowing her head cuz she doesnt want him to have to go through this life being in danger all the time. But she knows the only way they both will stay safe is if he is constantly culling the goblins
I think he does love her, and it's mutual Her reaction at the end is probably her trying to cope with the fact that he's in constant suffering and can't live a normal life
It would be more practical and cheaper for him to get a room anywhere else... He lives there and guards her because he loves her. He is giving her the closest thing to a marriage he is emotionally capable of. It's obvious she wants more but she see seems willing to wait.
"Rejection"? That isn´t the look of someone getting rejected, that is the look of a women who does not know whether this is the last time she sees Goblin Slayer alive or not, that his obesssion IS going to kill him or not. Plus, given the finale of Season 1, it´s clear he loves her and does all of this shit so she doesn´t end up like his sister.
Nah its not one sided Cow Girl (and i cant believe the bames in this show/comic) means quite literally everything to him. The only thing he wouldnt readily give, is his life and thats literally because if he lost his life she would cry, hes just..... Broken... A shattered mirror that he has long since given up trying to find the pieces for.... But thats part of the story, hes a shattered mirror hunting those that broke him to save others and she along with the rest of his adventuring party and companions hes made along the way are the ones finding the pieces to put him back together and its nice seeing him become more and more "normal" as the story progresses and its all because of Cow Girl
i wouldn't say it's one side the doors love her, but he is scared that she could get harmed because of him, and i'm sure he doesn't have enough strength left to see a loved person getting ripped out of his love once more he has some big ugly and painful scars, and i don't mean on his body
in case anybody is wondering why they are talking about the training grounds Light Novel and Manga Spoilers The training ground is being built on the same location as Goblin Slayer and CowGirl's child hood village. it was destroyed by Goblins because the village could not afford to pay for adventurers to guard it.
I don't think it's one sided love, the dude was willing to give away everything, even his own life to save her, he's just not ready to settle down and live a normal life with her at the moment considering his past trauma and current circumstances.
It’s not one sided he is just very traumatised and dosnet know how to exactly display his emotions but they are defiantly a item since she’s the only one he really feels comfortable being unarmoured around when in private also a part of his motivation for goblin slaying is to prevent any goblins from getting to her his morning And nightly Routine is guarding and checking out her home so no goblins will get to her
He's dping what he can to protect her but cant return her feelings because he wnats her to leave a life without violence in this corrupted world. Sad. But i feel like she's holding in her feelings to the pont where she will snap all of those emotions onto him 1 day.
Someday, goblin slayer getbold never going out adventure . At least he must left his legacy to teach other to slay goblin not everything he know but the basic of survival. He can be a mentor and trainer for young one.
There is a mutual love there I think, but GS can’t forgive himself for what happens to his sister and their village and blames himself in some part for what happened. As a result he doesn’t feel like he deserves to be happy or can be that person for CG. I think this season is very clearly showing us that GS is starting to forgive himself just the tiniest bit.
Romance with a warrior doesnt always work out, especially if theyre broken and have a genocidal lust for revenge. Goblin slayer wont rest until every goblin is slain.
I disagree with one sided love I remember reading the novel, said GS was working hard earn some cash for her birthday, he don't know what to get so then after earning a lot of cash he asked the cow girl to go shopping... That chapter was very lovely Also when he and her trapped inside the cold well after chased by goblin, GS put everything he could to protect her GS really cares and is concerned about his surroundings especially her
Definitely not a one-sided love. GS loves her, but I get the impression he doesn't think it's safe to stop. He's afraid if he stops, any peace he finds would be short-lived and the goblins would take everything from him again.
it isn't one-sided tho. he's well aware. yet he keeps his distance because he knows perfectly well that if he gets involved, both sides pain will be greater if one loses another.
Well if you are a man, you will understand why most men don’t settle right away because we all have priorities to deal with first and we to become best version of ourselves, but once we come across a specific woman that makes us feel at home, ready to comfort us, want you to win, resonates with us on a soul aspect we are only stick with that woman unless another option comes about that does the same.
Woah there buddy hood on, one sided? I have read the whole manga and youre wrong, gs loves her as much as she loves him, he protects his comrades but for her he goes out of the way to make sure she is safe, he would take every possible ways to ensure her safety even sacrifising his sleep leaving no stones unturned. As i believe love is not words but actions, and he damn well acts out his love to the best of his abilities, as he comes back to her after all of his missions. He doesnt know how to do cuddle and say romantic things, cuz he is too hwrsh even to himself, thats all. I'd say there love is much pure and precious than a charmer with sweet words all the time and no way to act it out.
Definitely not one sided. Its pretty obvious he will never stop killing goblins to ensure that few or no people if possible ever have to experience what he did but most importantly that she never experiences what his sister did.
I don't think it's one-sided. Do note Goblin Slayer always, always returns to Cow Girl to eat her stew, to the point he declines invitations to eat out. Cow Girl revealed to Padfoot Waitress in Goblin Slayer Gaiden, she learned the stew recipe from 'a older girl that was her neighbor' heavily implying it was Goblin Slayer's sister who taught Cow Girl. Then there's Goblin Slayer giving Cow Girl souvenirs from his adventures. He only does this to Cow Girl. Goblin Slayer is no romeo when it comes to romance and courting but it's clear he likes her quite alot in his own way.
Actually it's not one sided she's atleast the nearest to goblin slayers heart the dude just has a goal in life before love it's to eradicate all goblins first
She just needs another approach focusing on fighting goblins. Cowgirl: At the rate goblins are breeding they might outnumber the human race. So marrying me and starting a LARGE family is just another way to fight goblins. Besides If I get captured I can't get pregnant with a goblin baby if I am already pregnant with your baby
romantically it is one sided. but i think understanding the Goblin Slayer character, he loves her deeply. he is the kind of guy that doesnt understand physical or emotional affection..but his act shows how much he cared for her. he could've slept, eat or be anywhere but he came back every single day to her. not to mention how they interact is basically like a husband and wife. he may not know his feelings, but if there's one person death who would completely destroys him, it is cow girl. i guess we can all agree to that. i just hope that those goblins wont be that dumb to make their own total annihilation.(i'm looking at you, author-san)
One of the pitiful side of her is... Part of her love (by the way she act)for him are her own remorse toward him... She felt guilty by leaving him behind back when they were still children... Its not her fault... But the other reason that she take care of him isnt just because she love him... Its also her way to find redemption for her "guilt" toward him...glad, she able to move on(from her guilt) in future chapter... And loved him fully...rather than having the "guilt" accompanied her love toward him.

Yes the little girls was Priestess and the Village that Goblin Slayer Save he meet the Heroine and save her for a traumatic Experience, GS is the Reason why she is a happy Go Lucky girl in the main series
If the author did something terrible to Cow Girl, his book shall be condemned and axed.
Thats never going to happen, the gods love GS and would never try to break him.
@johnacer1727 fr bro I would hate this anime for my whole life
@@bip3336 that, and he’s the one who rules the dice. They can’t roll the dice for him. ;3
For me, that would make this shows better. It's already good but some sacrificial needed to make the story more alive, imo. It can be cow girl, guild girl, elf or all of them. I just don't want Goblin Slayer turns into garbage like Rising shield hero.
Every author is free to change direction
Sounds like hes about to summon Stardust Dragon at any moment
cowgirl has more value than his own life to him, she practically is the only who has kept him sane till now
It’s not one sided love. He knows that as long as goblins are around, she will NEVER be safe from them. He doesn’t want her to suffer the same fate as his sister did.
Those two are my ship, really hoping them end up together.
Basically married lmao
She gonna die and it's gonna break us all.
@@noggy3133not til i see little slayer babies
@@beiberns bro uncle is getting less and less subtle with gs retiring and marrying off cowgirl and taking over the farm
yesssssssssss
It's more like
He's too traumatized to be loveydovey but he still loves her no doubt
If she dies, his last remaining humanity will die too. And if sacrificing his own life means she could survive, he will do that in a heartbeat.
Guys, the childhood friend never wins...
Actually, it does, School Rumble did that with Mikoto and Hanai... They are childhood friends and they are hinted to end up together
Incorrect.
Not never , just rare .
Immagine Priestess wins his Heart😂
Rarely
It's not one sided love
She just afraid that one day he didn't come home, just like her parents
I love how everyone agrees that they should be (or "are") canon couple.
All the signs are there that they are a married couple in everything but name
It's not one-sided. He cares more about her than he cares about anyone else. She is his home.
She gonna be a great wife and he gonna be a great husband!! They will have 3 kids one will be a wizard one will work for the royals and one will follow the father footstep
😂
Its a defacto common law marriage. They live together, and noone disputes their relationship or challenges the fact that they live together.
It's not one-sided love. Proving your love through action speaks more than words. Example Fatherhood.
I think he does love her, and it's mutual
Her reaction at the end is probably her trying to cope with the fact that he's in constant suffering and can't live a normal life
Whenever he starts to wear down she'll be there waiting
2 years later. This video will get popular.
Why do I have this crippling fear that something really bad is going to happen to cow girl in the future?? I will drop this instantly if this happens.
It would be more practical and cheaper for him to get a room anywhere else... He lives there and guards her because he loves her. He is giving her the closest thing to a marriage he is emotionally capable of. It's obvious she wants more but she see seems willing to wait.
😐...... I WILL BURN THE WHOLE WORLD IN HOLY FIRE IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO HER!
Oh boi 💀
@@derryalif8606Oh god… is there something you’re not telling us?
Is all good in house?
Sadly she get rape by goblins at the end.
Don’t need to. I’m sure goblin slayer will beat you to it
"Rejection"?
But thats part of the story, hes a shattered mirror hunting those that broke him to save others and she along with the rest of his adventuring party and companions hes made along the way are the ones finding the pieces to put him back together and its nice seeing him become more and more "normal" as the story progresses and its all because of Cow Girl
i wouldn't say it's one side the doors love her, but he is scared that she could get harmed because of him, and i'm sure he doesn't have enough strength left to see a loved person getting ripped out of his love once more
he has some big ugly and painful scars, and i don't mean on his body
in case anybody is wondering why they are talking about the training grounds
Light Novel and Manga Spoilers
The training ground is being built on the same location as Goblin Slayer and CowGirl's child hood village. it was destroyed by Goblins because the village could not afford to pay for adventurers to guard it.
Will they get married?
@@nageswararao1419 no, the training grounds is still single
XD@@huhreally5771
She's waiting for Goblin Slayer to change, but I think or believe that he won't change.
Not untell there is no goblins in this world.🗡🛡
I hope they end up together officially and nothing bad happens to either of them.
She knows who he is under that armor?
People who has never read volume 9 of the light novel dont know what Gobbo can and will do for her.
I don’t care what anyone else says Farm girl is GS wife!!!
She’s one of the best wives in 2023!
She has been one of the best anime wives since 2019!
I dont think it's one sided. He likes/loves her too but as long goblins are alive he can not live a normal life.
Get yourself a cow-girl
It's hard to change, it's hard to move on, it's hard to forget, the pain, THE PAST!!!!!!😥😢🗡🛡💔
She knows she loves him
They should just get married at this point.
Someday, goblin slayer getbold never going out adventure . At least he must left his legacy to teach other to slay goblin not everything he know but the basic of survival. He can be a mentor and trainer for young one.
Cowgirl and love do indeed fit in one sentence
There is a mutual love there I think, but GS can’t forgive himself for what happens to his sister and their village and blames himself in some part for what happened.
As a result he doesn’t feel like he deserves to be happy or can be that person for CG.
I think this season is very clearly showing us that GS is starting to forgive himself just the tiniest bit.
Dude would literally die for her without a second thought so nah not one sided.
I like how characters are named in this series. It’s hard to forget them.
if the goblins did take the farm, literally nothing would make him stop hunting goblins. she's probably the only reason he goes home.
Romance with a warrior doesnt always work out, especially if theyre broken and have a genocidal lust for revenge. Goblin slayer wont rest until every goblin is slain.
eating with the helment on , what a chad XD!
I disagree with one sided love
I remember reading the novel, said
GS was working hard earn some cash for her birthday, he don't know what to get so then after earning a lot of cash he asked the cow girl to go shopping... That chapter was very lovely
Also when he and her trapped inside the cold well after chased by goblin, GS put everything he could to protect her
GS really cares and is concerned about his surroundings especially her
She closest person to family to him. Its not one sided. He would not have saved her and her uncles farm if he didnt love her.
Priestess is in this Ship’s way
Priestess is just a comrade and a pupil to him, cowgirl is actual wife material
Its going to probably take Goblins nearly killing her or aping her imo for him to start realizing what he has.
Not one-sided at all, he's just incapable of proper intimacy as he is currently.
knowing anime trope 101 cow girl gets into a fight with more goblins and GS bouta go GRIFFITH
Cow Girl ❤
Goblin slayer is literally batman, can't form a relationship because of his self imposed responsibility.
Just watched this episode but came here for clarification, and I definitely got it from reading all these great comments haha
Definitely not a one-sided love. GS loves her, but I get the impression he doesn't think it's safe to stop. He's afraid if he stops, any peace he finds would be short-lived and the goblins would take everything from him again.
Did I just see Goblin slayer Jr?
So that's how he eat with helmet on
it isn't one-sided tho. he's well aware. yet he keeps his distance because he knows perfectly well that if he gets involved, both sides pain will be greater if one loses another.
He should make a move soon
For now he's goblin slayer but once he managed to win the gods one sided game he'll conquer the cow girl and become cow girl slayer😅
In the world filled with GOBLINS HE WILL NEVER STOP!!!!
I wonder her reaction if she knew Goblin Slayer slept with priest girl and Sword Maiden
She'd probably understand it. After all it was to save his life and nothing more
Duty calls, and it never waits.
hanekawa vibe
Actually it's not one sided she's atleast the nearest to goblin slayers heart the dude just has a goal in life before love it's to eradicate all goblins first
If im in his shoes i will love her so much before she could even love me 🥴
Damn her voice is really ASMR
Bro, just take off the helmet for a while, the rust will drop on the soup 😅
❤️ them
She just needs another approach focusing on fighting goblins.
He wants to eliminate Goblin to make her safe.
She's worth it
I mean, worth watching the show for. Though, it's always been on my to-do list.
