I think how the dad raised his daughter would have been great. There is more than romantic love that should be shown in movies imo 🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️
That little bit of daylight wouldn't be enough to trigger a reaction. Before sunlight is brightening the sky, the atmosphere is already affected by the sun's radiation. If she was that sensitive to the sun, she was already done for by the time he asked her about seeing the sunrise.
@@chunchoe I saw that too, about 1:00 in, but then I noticed the frames on the windows and they look like the glass is tinted or has some sort of film on it. I am guessing these windows are specially designed to filter out whatever it is in sunlight that causes a reaction with her skin. Including details like that, but never mentioning them gives viewers a sense of attention to detail that may help make less believable plot points seem realistic. Maybe we are supposed to believe that little bit of sunlight she was exposed to was deadly because of all the other excessive efforts that were made along the way to protect her. Pointing out and explaining all those little things would possibly seem like they were trying too hard to make the sun dangerous. It may be better to let viewers draw their own conclusions. That would be good film writing, but I still stand by my original statement.
I have never had a movie recap make me tear up the way this one did. Now I wanna see this movie, especially because the father wasn't depicted as some demonizing man. Thanks for this great review
Oh yea definitely reminds me of a walk to remember by the sounds of it. Which is one of my favorites as a chronically Ill woman who’s been sick since the day I was born. My mom has always wanted me to not just live but thrive
This relationship was like a sims 4 date having such a great time and then boom it’s 4 am and they leave in a rush fast traveling before they hit the pavement from exhaustion 😂😂😂🤣
There was a time in my life when my skin would blister if I went into the sun. Yes I'm deathly pale but the doctors didn't believe me until I showed them pictures. Suuuucks. I pretty much wear 50+ sunscreen & function at night, and other than being an immune issue I'm still not sure why it happens. Since I have Cancer it kinda got put on the backburner for now.
Interesting. In the book and movie "Twilight", the protagonist is Bella, who meets Edward who can't afford to be seen in sunlight. In this movie, the protagonist can't be in sunlight and is played by Bella. Its title "Midnight Sun" is the same as that chosen by "Twilight" author, Stephanie Meyer for the never-finished story of Bella meeting Edward told from his point of view.
Yo guys, this is a Hollywood adapation from a Dorama (Japanese drama tv series) called "Tayo no Uta" (2006) - translated as "A song to the sun" - and also known as "Midnight Sun". The story is way better as whats brings the couple together is music (they are both musicians), the background of the couple is really well written and developed (keep in mind the targeted audience are teenagers, so it might seem a little childish, but still pretty solid) and the music from the female lead (Kaoru Amane) its really good (if you enjoy japanese songs).
Kaoru Amane is the name of main character in Tayo no Uta, the actress who play as her is Yui Yoshioka. for all of you wondering who is Yui Yoshioka is, she is Japanese singer and actress. is her song are good. if you enjoy Fullmetal Alchemist OP 1 and Bleach ED 5, maybe you will like her other song too.
Not fun into romace but this one is one my best movies ive seen in all genre. But I'm little bit disappointed that she could have live without telling him earlier. She could have beg for people living in the nearest first 5 houses to let her stay until sun goes down. Explain his sickness and call his dad to prove that she has that kind of disease. But it didnt affect my rating to this movie
I live with a solar allergy. In my case it's Solar Uticaria. XP is a genetic disorder. Solar Uticaria is autoimmune disorder. You can get UV filters for windows. You can go outside at night. There is specialized clothing that blocks UV.
I love this movie, had a very good father by her side, reaj sad that she died e in the end ,i know how itsl feels lost my wife few months ago of cancer, So I felt thep pain!!
That incident prolly wasnt a trigger. It prolly was just the right time and the right moment her sickness got worse. Or is her body that super sensitive to radiation?
If they are still anywhere near Seattle, the water there is 53 degrees year round. You need a wetsuit to spend more than 10 minutes in the water or you'll start getting hypothermia. You know you're from Seattle when you KNOW swimming is an indoor sport!
Movie title is Midnight Sun? OK. Cool! Added to my list Hold up! How did Kate find her way to the train station if she's been locked in all her life? Interesting movie review! YOU'RE AWESOME! BEST REGARDS!
As someone competent regarding astrophysics......no. The light of the sun consists of many different forms of light. Visible light, infrared, ultraviolet, even x-rays and so on. But the stuff reflected by the moon is just the boring stuff that is unlikely to make anyone sick.
Yes it is. It's a genetic disorder. You're born with it. It's called Xeroderma Pigmentosum. There are differents types of XP. They exaggerated XP in this movie

that and theres a scene where shes sitting by the window during daylight which would have the same effect

@@xnetpc as far as I remember they are
@@xnetpc yeah they are tinted, from the outside when charlie told her that how didnt he see her and it gets the idea that the window is tinted..
They didn't research XP enough for this movie. They also exaggerated it.
the father is everything man, not only he cares and love his daughter and also wants her to be happy
Moral of the story: Being grateful 🙏
We should all learn from the dad 💯
Is it bad that I don’t even have her condition and I stay in my room all day
Then don’t. Go out early morning when no one is out.
Better a vampire 🧛♀️
That's called depression
I have never had a movie recap make me tear up the way this one did. Now I wanna see this movie, especially because the father wasn't depicted as some demonizing man. Thanks for this great review
That father pulled it off.
He was the best dad you can possibly be.
Oh yea definitely reminds me of a walk to remember by the sounds of it. Which is one of my favorites as a chronically Ill woman who’s been sick since the day I was born. My mom has always wanted me to not just live but thrive
Never would have imagine to see such a supportive dad in a movie.... usually dad's in movie are over-protective of their daughters o.O
This relationship was like a sims 4 date having such a great time and then boom it’s 4 am and they leave in a rush fast traveling before they hit the pavement from exhaustion 😂😂😂🤣
Or peeing themselves
Jack is definitely amongst the best fictional fathers ever!
I know zendaya is a superstar but bella been killing it on the small screen
Jack is father of the decade no arguments
dads are amazing.
She really is a natural beauty but ttyl xox

@@alexw3515 LOL that's what they call me : ) especially since my canine teeth are very pronounced.
@@lilsewell9636 wow canines and all? Im sure your beautiful inside and out stranger❤
I wish you a full recovery from cancer! And hopefully your skin/immune condition can be treated and healed too.

Uh you just compared a vampire to this
@@ninahlt91 lolololol. 😐 You're funny.
And.....it's played out somewhere near Seattle.....just like Twilight.....in Forks.
What a nice story .. heart broken at the ending
Jeez i only watched the recap and im crying beautiful ending. 😭😭😭
If I have this kind of love around me, even if I have just one day to live, it's worth it. World without love is HELL. Love makes everything go away
9:29 so the sunlight basically killed her
Nice
its Xeroderma Pigmentosum.
Saw this movie bc of the recap I loved it. Very sad but a great movie I def recommend
A walk to remember part two
Not really, Leukemia's a much less obscure disease and Jamie actually told Landon that she was sick
Get yourself a life time supply of Vitamin-D and a night time job and boom, a girlfriend nobody can steal
Even in a movie, It's an infamous disease.
That ending is almost as shocking as any horror movie.
This movie is amazing but the commentary, even better

yep deffo agree!!!
6:42 but the picture means it did go well

Love your reactions
A remake of A WALK TO REMEMBER
This was remote learning before it was a reality.
There is a similar movie in 2000s called "A walk to remember".
Love story of a bad boy and a girl with leukemia.
Cause glass and a hoodie will protect her from sunlight. And moonlight is definitely not just sunlight being reflected off of the moon.
Yeah, Mr. White! Yeah, Science! XD

Beautiful
Hey. Berkeley is a very renowned school, but it IS NOT Ivy League!
the dad is the MVP change my mind
You should try to sum up Breaking Bad.
😄
Way to much and well written for a RUclips video
8:20 that's why the dad shouldn't have
lol yeah i live 15 min from Seattle no way would they be swimming in the Puget sound lol freezing! and beaches here are mostly rocky
This was a good and sad video, so if I was interesting to watching this movie before seeing this video, I would surely get emotional.
Why is Charlie lurking around the train station?
Because...
Lurking.
BTW y'all the Pudget Sound the water outside of Seattle is just cold so they must of been shitfaced to hop in there halfnaked
I don’t know any teens like this
So this was basically the walk to remember minus them getting married and the beginning hhhhhmmmm
I love it so much
Not sure about the movie itself, but the narrator did such a good job that I want to watch it now.
this movie is like repeat of WALK TO REMEMBER
Not surprised since she's a redhead.
My skin bubbles up if I go out in sun x
This is a real thing to
Goodbye days
Dude, that background music for this doesn't match the vibe as if it's about horror movie😂
this was originally a Japanese movie from 2006 called Taiyou no Uta. this North American version did well to remake the story tho.
A Sail To Remember.😏
Movie title is Midnight Sun? OK. Cool! Added to my list

i just dont freaking understand why ppl ike her usually hides the one thing thats truly matter w people the fuk

9:57 in the sunlight-?
Berkley isn’t Ivy League.
Inaccurate, she is the reason she died
10:53 in the sun nice
This is not on Netflix!!!!!!!😫😫😫😫😫

There's a similar movie with Brad Pitt, what is it called...?
