Hi Warhipster, I recently finished painting my Abraxia following this guide to paint. I didn't have some of the highlights but the model is basically done. Ive never done blending or used contrast paints before and I am so chuff with the outcome of the model. Thank you very much for the video. Onto the Varenguard next!
I love videos like this becasue they make what can be a very intimidating model very approachable. I get mine tomorrow and I cant wait to get started on her.
I just pre-ordered mine. These four baddies will be a nice addition to the gallery! I'll definately keep this tutorial handy for some tips / color choices. Beautifully done!
Oh HELL yeah dude!! I'm glad you finally got to paint her after all this time looking forward to her release, and it didn't disappoint! Can't wait to collect my own in a couple weeks. ...tho I will say. I rly wish you didn't put the helmet on. I DIDN'T REALISE HOW COOL THE HELMET WAS BEFORE. I CAN'T MAKE DECISIONS LIKE THIS.
Amazing tutorial, I’ve followed you for a few years now and my slaves army looks great thanks to your vids! Please please please do a stand alone video for Varanguard I’ve got 9 I need to get through and would love to see your take on them.
Is there a chance you will be painting the Slaves to Darkness Varangarde? I'm asking since Abraxia is available with a pack that includes them. Thx in advance!
How did you get the cloak to look that good? I was using blood angels red and cygor brown just as you did, but it looked like shit whilest yours looks like a fine glaze
It's tricky for sure It's all about speed there especially on such a wide flat detail. What might help make yours feel a little better is to take a bit of Gal Vorbak Red or Word Bearers Red and thin it down with 3 or 4 parts water and use that to smooth out the flat areas of the cape it's almost like glazing to fix it but those or the closest colours to the mix on the cloak!
Thanks again for this guide, I finally finished my Abraxia following it!!! She turned out great :)
Love that the sneeze was kept in!
