*Beethoven shreds bro*
Imagine writing that shit meanwhile being deaf!
Was good papi
He did for sure!
He was the very first metalhead
*THALL* af bro.
*nik* “When did I cut myself....?”
*from the void* “a contract has been bound in blood...”
now you can play Moonlight sonata but your soul is mine....
Muhuahuauhha
@@SmallWader ...

@@batmattreturns6081 lmao
I see What you did there Buddy. Void and The quote Is Linked Wih The Dark Brotherhood Is It?
Paganini was the first shredder. He revolutionized violin playing and I recommend watching videos of his pieces on violin. Absolutely insane. People back then thought he sold his soul to the devil.
Paganini was not a "shredder", he was a virtuoso player and a great composer. There is a huge difference between playing scales fast and playing good music fast with sense of musicality (please hear his first violin concerto and you'll see what I mean: ruclips.net/video/vadJp7vokL8/видео.html. Regards.
@@alrisan71 I'm aware of his Violin Concertos. And im using the term shredder loosely as he played like no one else at the time. I know you're aware of his Caprices which he composed to basically challenge himself. Back then he was a shredder. His 5th Caprice especially showcases this.
@@alrisan71 Shredders doesn't strictly mean dudes who play scales fast,...
Indeed indeed. I've seen some people playing paganini 24 with their guitar and daamnnn
@@alrisan71 you're very narrow minded if you think shredding is playing scales fast. And the term could easily be used for several classical composers like Beethoven, Vivaldi and even some of bach's preludes. just play the same music on electric guitar with distortion and that basically metal shredding.
I feel you when trying out Moonlight Sonata! xD Looks and sounds easier than it is hahaha.
Ain’t that the truth
However he must practice 40 hours a day to learn Paganini.
I feel like any guitarist of a certain age, that has seen the movie crossroads, wanted to play that song... Which is funny since he mentioned selling his soul
It doesnt look or sound easy lol
@@kodoqbesar4301 only if you want to make ling ling proud
Man. When Nik calls himself garbage at guitar but I can't even play Through the Fire and Flames on guitar hero:(
Bro I’ve never even had guitar hero to be able to play it, let alone an actual guitar, so you got a head start from my point of view lmao
most guitar hero songs are easier on real guitar bro dw, except for the solos lol
@@disgust1413 it really depends on what you’re playing, a lot of them would picking you pay attention to, do you play both guitar and guitar hero? Just for reference
@@blender3935 yes I play both bro
Neither can I
Neo-classical done metal is just the Castlevania soundtrack.
@@NikNocturnal it's great, anyone who dislikes it is wrong
@@NikNocturnal Ask FamilyJules7x about it. He did 50 video game songs in 2 minutes. Clearly he is a master of the video game metal.
We all know Aquarius on the famicom version was the best :)
And Castlevania music is Bach inspired
"every time i think im decent at guitar i do this and remind myself im trash" proceeds to sweep
Sweeping isn't hard bro, it's much easier than picking stuff fast af
Sweeping is hard, but not as hard as it looks tbh
Hahahahahahahhahahah
sweeping with bad muting technique and slurring notes is easy but if you try playing it cleanly, it’s actually really hard. if you’re using alternate picking, slurring notes can ruin the sound much faster than with sweeping so it’s easier to make sweeping fast sound alright than it is to make alternate picking fast sound alright
@@yes-xw8cg also completely depends on the chord shape and other techniques. me sweeping three note chords from a dethklok song? its not 0-3-5 but its relatively easy. Ichika sweeping ass backwards barred neo soul riffs and tapping over them? not so easy
Fun Fact: The Paganini piece that was played is known as the Devil's Caprice, because people thought Paganini sold his soul to the devil to be able to play it.
Caprice No. 24
You know who plays neo classical? Children of Bodom 🤘🏼 COB cover for Alexi Laiho please?
You know who just passed. Alexi laiho
@@tokeypokey Thank you, captain obvious.
RIP
Yeah, this needs to happen. Rip Alexi
Rest in peace Alexi
"Classical composers would've wrote the sickest prog music ever" I 2nd that statement.
Quote of the day-" neoclassical is metal without electricity".
Well said Nick.... Well said....
Lmfaooo "his fingers move faster than my eyes can process light." 😅😅😅
6:36 - 6:50 reminded my why I'm subscribed to this man
"Classical composers would have wrotten" - Nik 2021
Engrish huard
That's a wrotten lick
Neoclassical music: *"exists"*
My fingers: Nah, chugs all day bro.
^^^
Cool. Now do "Metal guitarist learns Flamenco."
Charlie Robbins already does that
Rodrigo Y Gabriela
First I saw Alexi Laiho playing classical songs with distortion, and immediately felt the connection! It was a musical course series of some sort. It looked so easy, and it sounded so gorgeous
He was God!!

*my tongue is dry from all the licking* LMAO
Nik-" I think I have to literally sell my soul to Satan to play this track"
*Paganini enters the chat*
Classical music is metal as fuck. The more sinister it feels the heavier I imagine it on guitar. You killed me with the joke about Smoke on the Water.
2:23 wow, nice start of breakdown
4:11 sounding incredible
Pure neoclassical
i love wendys chicken nuggets with my metal and mental breakdowns
^^ this
Weird you post this a day after Alexi Laiho's passing, almost like an unintentional tribute. Love the series. RIP Wild Child
Me: *attempting to correct my school schedule before school starts*
Nik: *uploading video at 3am* no
Classical has influenced my metal ever since Rising Force came out in 1985, thanks for posting. Great channel.
As a piano player I gotta give mad respect to guitar players that get all that melody out of their strings I can’t imagine how many times you had to cut your fingers just to get all the notes
"We will be using all 4 fingers." I'm dead hahaha
4:08 That actually sounded really nice.
1:33 "slow and steady wins the race, said that weird turtle" XD
the best sound i heard in this vid was the intro music xD, nice vid nik
Classical and Metal absolutely go together!!
"Metal without electricity"... I literally burst out laughing at that one lol ya got me there hahhaha
*Metal Guitarist Tries to Learn: Lo-fi*
LOL 😂😂
Would be really hard actually cause a lot of lofi loops are based on the jazz guitar he found so difficult last time, either that or the crazy ichika type stuff
@@konkey-dong I was going to argue with you...because lo-fi is so slow...but the runs. So. Many. Runs.
Look up Ichika Nito, he did something similar recently
@@adolfpickler4295 yeah I already have that's why I brought it up and recently got into Lo-fi in the first place
By watching guitarists play neo classical, it makes my guitar covered with dust.
Dude we need a COB cover this week please RIP alexi 😪
😂😂😂😂 this is what I get for playing breakdowns for 15 years lol ditto bro fucking ditto
Felt this in my soul
Bruh, you should totally cover Children of Bodom in honor of Alexi Laiho😢
That into... so relatable... Every time I think I’m getting good there is always another virtuoso on RUclips to bring me ego back into reality. Nik included lol
Nik: "How do I play neoclassical guitar?"
RUclips: "Git gud lmao"
The things u came up with... such a great improv. and it sounds amazing dude! Really nice
So basically, learning The Human Abstract entire discography.
THA is dope!
You can practice Hirajoshi a lot with Complex Terms
Had to check them out. Too bad the singer sucks ass.
that little groove at 4:09 is spot on , sounds so simple yet so complex , love it
You know he's good when he's bri'ish and teaching something classical

If it was Rick Graham, then yes, he is very, very good.
"Let's try out a childhood achievement and dream and it is playing moonlight sonata, the 3rd movement on guitar, playing a 300 year song"
**Nik realizes how hard it is and you can actually hear piece by piece how his soul and heart crushes**
Oh...
This is the first time I have actually been inspired to practice scales....
Your reaction to the speed of the harmonic minor scale is priceless, could watch that all day
4:15 sounds like Versailles~Philharmonic Quintet~. You should check 'em out. They're my all-time fav band from Japan.
Highly recommend checking out Shred Master Scott on youtube for all your Neo-classical guitar needs, and satanic contracts.
4:08 every sabaton song ever
Man you were killing that backing track, I'd listen to a whole song of just that. A+ my dude.
The entirety of moonlight sonata is the best most moving classical composition in the univers, my mind cannot be changed. Been thinking that for almost 30 years now
Fugue in d minor by Bach my man
"classical composers would have written the sickest prog ever" i mean they did, listen to bartok
40 hours a day. 40 years a decade.
Dude your content is always worth clicking when I get a notification. Thank you for your channel. Wishing you the best man 🤙
It reminded me of Pergamum, man it's been 10 years of this video
Cole Rolland has got a cover of the moonlight sonata on his channel. Dude’s insane.
Its so good and Kristinas work on that track is stellar as well
Eh, he's good, hell of a lot better than me, but imo his appeal is just from being flashy with his playing
You’ve given me the push I needed to relearn all my scales, modes and arpeggios
But FUCK chord theory 😂
4:07 sounds sooo good well done on the improv
2:42 awesome deathcore scream
Yo, hit the dooo up. He plays moonlight sonata on omegle, and other weird shreddy stuff like that.
Honestly would love a collab tbh.
Don’t mean this as a diss or a chance to show off but moonlight sonata isn’t actually that hard but it just looks scary and intimating
@@jamesfrancombe468 hes done malsteen and others he just usually just uses sonata because of how crazy it looks
I never said it was hard. I called it weird and shreddy
love that these videos always have to include the “this is why i’ve only been playing breakdowns for 15 years”
The first thing you say at the beginning of this video is how I feel when I watch YOU
Metal and classical are so closely related I am shocked and appalled sir, that you have not dabbled.
When he pressed play on the classical guitarist 😂😂😂
we need that full cover of moonlight sonata now, Nik. Make 10 yo Nik proud
Dude! So fun to watch you every time! LOL this made my day!
Ritchie Blackmore started the neoclassical movement!!
" this is what i get for playing breakdowns for 15 years"
i died then a lich summoned me back
As a classically trained guitarist, I love this lol.
That lick at 4:08 sounds like a Wintersun melody :D
Keep doing these videos. Absolute bangers.
love the channel man! would really love to see your reaction to distance by boys of fall! some of the best vocals I've heard
Metal guitarist playing neoclassical is basically every Kiko Loureiro song
Love your commentary throughout the video.
That little riffy melody you do around 4:09 sounds like some A7X “City Of Evil” type of stuff and I’m ALL for it.
*plays a G chord*
*points at guitar*
"Chord theory"
“This is what I get for playing breakdowns for 15 yrs” *frustratingly breakdowns* lmao this is my favorite video
Keep it up man! You’re almost to 400k subscribers!!!!!
Love these videos bro, keep going!
Neoclassical is all about evil scale sounding 😂.
3:58 great improv, Nik could fit in any neoclassical power metal band 🤘
"This is what I get for playing breakdowns for 15 years"
Holy shit my sides
That kid playing paganini, marcin patrzalek, is a great percussive acoistic guitarist. It's a difficult fingerstyle subgenre, i would love to see you try it!
This video is basically a metal musician breaking down a the complexity of neoclassical music.
Thumbs up!
Motivates to see that those who can actually play, struggle as well.
Marcin is insane on guitar and everytime I watch him I have the same reaction
to me this sounded like Matt Heafy playing over neoclassical backings
for real !!
You realize that kid playing on the classical guitar is Marcin...THE Marcin from youtube....the acoustic god!!
Neo-classical metal - the most finest subgenre of metal, and the most badass version of classical music.
My dad made me learn classical grades up to grade 8.
Yes it helped me now,
Then i found METAL
Subjective bruh!! Mozart got nuthin on 7 strings. Deepest he got was 35. He didnt even get to experience depression or anxiety. The crux of creativity today lol
Might pay to actually learn about him...
Bruh I only saw the movie “Amadeus” and even I know that Mozart did not have the best life filled with light
Can't find Alfred Potter's youtube when you need it! Dude shows exactly how to do neoclassical techniques. Breaks it all down instead of just shredding for the whole video.
Big fan homie I Love these type vids! Also stoked about the Jared Dines video!
If we're sticking a bit with neoclassical, you gotta check out schostakowitch
For example his chamber symphony op.110 2nd mov. is the most metal thing written og for non-metal instruments
Shostakovich is the most evil you can get in music!!!
Guitar kept hurting him , like bro it needs a blood sacrifice to play this music
That clip of the kid playing classical on acoustic is Marcin Patrzalek. You should check out his remake of Moonlight Sonata and other classical pieces in his style. This dude does some amazing percussive and tapping pieces. Much like Ichika Nito.
Classical music is probably what I listen to the most the last few years. It gets hella intense real quick my guy.
In Soviet Union, Neo-Classical learns you
"this is what I get for playing breakdowns for 15 years" *CHUG CHUG CHUG*
That was great for many reasons you shred bro and it shows you're humble.
4:41 some Turkish March right there,
