- Filming around Canary Wharf today and just as we finished we passed a building where we had already done and had a fairly good response.
Then out of nowhere this lunatic swipes camera and assaults me. 5 Canary Wharf is actually a JOURNALIST building .....

The Canada manager is a bully, and he’s made himself look a fool. File an assault charge on him as you have it all on video but I’m sure he has ‘connections’ and it’ll all go away. At least he made himself look a thug but the staff are probably already aware of that.

Just so you know, I live in Canada and I'm very interested in watching videos from London and the UK in general. The city, the streets, the pubs, Buckingham Palace, MI6... anything of historical or cultural interest. I want to visit the UK sone day. So yes, there are people who watch your videos only for the visual content. But I have to admit, the confrontations are great. Don't know how you kept from pushing that guy once he reached for your camera and got in your personal space. How do you say it over there? "What a hatter".

I'd love a pound for every time you say you'll defend yourself but never do, the manager needs to be charged, a decent video though.
You have to be careful about defending yourself because the police will use the fact that both sides have been violent to pick on the victim and punish the victim. But by not doing anything it means all the violence is from the other person.

I used to work in that building when one of the tenants was Bank of America amongst others and the building manager then would never of acted in this way. Security never liked people taking photos but they were always polite and courteous to members of the public. How things have changed for the worse....

A quick google search of the address will bring up the contacts at JLL if you wanted to report his terrible behavior.

17:35 Don't bother with the police. They hardly do anything now a days. Go straight for the civil claim route. Minor offence, but all it takes is writing a letter before claim setting out the facts and asking for compensation of a few hundred quid. Cheaper for the business to pay up and claim no fault than fight it.

my wife works at CWHARF in the retail part, the security there is a joke, havent got a brain cell between them, store theft is rife and they have no clue, most are scared to tackle anyone under the age of 70 , and then they are all tough guys ... disgrace!!
