Story is a bit dumbed down compared to the books, too much according to some who deride it as a glorified screensaver, but no one disputes its beauty. I'm shocked their hasnt been a sequel to this (perhaps brainless) very enjoyable flick
'The age of man is over' makes a lot of sense. It's not really mentioned in the movie, but in the books they mention ruins and artifacts left behind by 'the others'. So in regards to mankind it's kind of a dystopian future.
i remember going at the theater knowing nothing of the magic i will see, even today my deepest wish is to see this movie again for the first time... i will sell the world for that, just to be that little boy who see a movei that hit his soul... now everytime, i heard this song or remember a scene fo the movie, tears come uncontrolably on my cheeks...

Plus, the books are easily understandable, which can be really cool for those who do not usually read! :)

I’m so incredibly upset this song isn’t actually in the film. I remember, now a little over a decade ago, when I first saw the trailer for this movie with this great song in the background. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. And there are so many scenes in the movie that this song would fit so well with. Especially the slow mo scenes. Anyway I’m pretty sure this is a Christian song lol
I hope there ends up being a sequel and there's like 15 book and this movie was basee on the 1st 3 books and so the 2nd movie would be based one books 4-6, a 3rd movie would be based on books 7-9, a 4th movie would be based on books 10-12, and a 5th movie would be based on books 13-15.

I read the books when I was really little, and loved the movie. Recently went back and read the first book, and, sorry, but the movie is better in so many ways. If I had picked up this book series only just now, whether or not I had seen the movie, I don't think I would have liked it. I'm praying for a sequel!
